My friends at my old job put together a short funny video for a competition they're in that can win em $50k. The old job is a non profit organization that puts together youth and Nobel Peace Prize winners and Pepsi will give em a big donation if they rack up enough votes. Check out the video below and vote here. If you want more reasons to vote than just a funny video, you can learn more about the organization here.
And here's a short video explaining how PJ started:
The end result: I'm a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BS in Actuarial Mathematics.
After drinking rather heavily last night, I had to get up at 6:30am with 4 hours of sleep to pouring rain. My housemates and I walk to the field where all the graduates are convening and mingle around for a bit before we go to the Big House where commencement was held.
We mingled around for about 3 hours seeing fellow graduates before commencement began. After about an hour of various speeches and other processes, the commencement speaker entered stage right.
President Obama did not disappoint. He is a phenomenal speaker and has an aura about him. He was quite funny and engaged every person in the stadium. He began with some light material about reading 10 letters a day including letters from a 1st grade class in which a student asked if he lived near a volcano. The President then discussed the importance of government in the country, regarding the proper amount of regulation. One funny criticism he received was the interference of the government on Medicare, which is funny because Medicare is a government program. The end result was that the best government needs the involvement of the people. The people must be educated and participate to ensure this. The President ended his speech by urging the graduates to protect rights and forge a common future. He referred to the classic phrase "Treat others as you would treat yourself". He urged us to fight the prejudices so commonly found in American and ignore race, skin, and sexuality in choosing our day to day lives. This especially resonated with me because I took a class this semester regarding the importance of equality of Socio Economic Class, which involves class, race, gender, and sexuality. Of course, he spoke with such eloquence and intelligence.
Afterwords, I had lunch and a small commencement with my major and said my goodbyes to many of my friends and classmates throughout the rest of the day in my last day of undergraduate life. My house now has no internet so I've been typing this for 20 minutes as I meet the last of my friends for some drinks.
I'll be in Atlantic City at Harrah's and Borgata for the 2+2 Borgata Party from Tuesday-Thursday. Stop by if you can. Then i'll be chilling until the 13th when I will go to Taiwan until the 31st. I hope to see some college friends then. June is rather open for me right now and I hope I will be able to visit Vegas then. Thanks for reading and good luck/congrats to all graduating students!
So starting from last night at around 11pm, I 6 tabled 25PLO for a total of 1215 minutes or 20 hours
I am a fucking degenerate lol
Sick variance, sick grind, sick volume, and now my sick health
Made 2150 FTPs and $110 in rakeback
I got fucked hard in the ass in so many situations like top boat vs quads 250 deep or getting in premium AA aipf over 200 deep just to get owned by shit like AQTT hitting quads
Then proceeded to tilt off a few BI
I pretty much just spent the rest of the of session chasing back my losses and it worked out decently
Now I need some fucking sleep
seriously, my red line is constantly raping face in every graph that i post from a year ago, I didn't realize the significance of it then, but wtf I'm pretty sure I can't pull this off anymore. Is this the product of the fact that I played with the same regs every day and just picked them apart with notes and stuff or wtf. I cannot make my redline do that anymore, I'm happy if my redline is breakeven. Does anyone elses graph look like this? Am I not winning anymore because my redline fails? I don't freaking understand but my winrate @ nl100 rush on ftp is like 1ptbb/100 over 100k+ hands this year with a declining redline
Eh, I tried to get my first 10k month in a long time but just kinda got owned in the last week so that became nearly impossible unless i played like 10k hands a day. Which I'm not really capable of doing without going on massive life tilt. So I called it good. Hopefully next month is even better. Past couple months have been quite good for me and I've definitely made huge improvements to my overall approach to poker and my game itself. I'm pretty sure my HEM is only about ~95% accurate as it misses a few hands here and there but at least it still gives me a fairly accurate picture of my results.
My april stats. Note all hands are played at full ring tables.
Have not updated in a while but since last time I'm done with the $2.20 stake I was doing. I actually have a new backer now and It's a lot better in every way. Also offers me coaching which has helped me tremendously . April was pretty fun month for me. I finally ran hot in sngs like I wanted to. Unfortunately mtt's Kicked my ass. Cant get my mtt stats cause OPR is down atm but heres my SNG raping though. These are all 180's(all I play) so some $2.20,$3r,$7.7,$12, and $36's.
So now PS has 20-50bb tables, 40-100bb tables, etc. When I first heard about this it sounded good - now I can avoid the annoying shortstackers by only playing 40-100bb tables. Problem is that lots of fish like to buy in short... so now even on a Saturday it's hard to find good tables unless I play on 20-50bb tables. This seems like it ended up being a huge plus for the pro-shortstackers cause now they play with lots of fish while us 100bb regs play against each other.
do you guys get canadian checks when you ask for checks to withdraw money? because on absolute poker even though i asked them to send me a us check they sent me canadian and i was wondering if i can cash that out at like bank of america or smoething. thanks
On topic: Could someone help me facilitate this transfer? PM if you can! I've no clue how to go about these transfers save needing the help of someone with BRs on both sites, so it'd be nice if someone in the know could tell me what's the usual course of dealing: tips to say thanks, reliability, etc.
Random thoughts: Hello LP! I've recently started trying my hand at poker on Full Tilt and I must say it's been pretty interesting so far, been playing at 2NL for the past two weeks. I'd like to think I'm learning bit by bit as the days go by but to be honest, I'm still quite clueless so I'd like to ask if anyone could recommend great resources for beginners. I've read the beginner's articles here and they helped quite a fair bit; are there any particularly useful books or sites? My friend's recommended Sklanky's SSHE, should I read that? Does anyone have general tips that really helped them out when at the micros?
In any case, thanks for reading this and hopefully I continue learning (as I've clearly got a LONG LONG way to go before progressing beyond being entirely clueless) and getting better
