I recently dropped out of school for multiple reasons, some of them personal, one of them being to focus on poker. I'd like to see if I can make Supernova by the end of this year, although I have only earned 9k VPP so far this year. $240 currently in my account. Clearly I can earn 750 VPP in a day, but not necessarily every day. I have a live-in girlfriend who works full time, but wants a lot of attention on the weekends and in the evenings. I only need to make minimal cash-outs, so I think whether I can achieve the goal depends primarily on whether I will be successful enough over the next four months to move up in stakes and stay there. Back to those SNG's...

if i upgrade from 22-27 inch with same resolution there is no advantage in multitabling right? the same amount of tables will fit? hardly an upgrade? pixels are just biggeR?

It has been quite a while since I've updated my blog but I figure I'm going to be diligent in my poker updates.

Poker
I've been quite lax in my volume this past July with poker but I hope to turn it around this August. I've been mending a bunch of IRL things in my life and working on getting back into "the swing of things." I'm currently still backed for SNGS and MTTs on Stars playing majority of $16 9 mans and 18 mans and $12 180s. I have a few goals in line for this August that are rather high-reaching but meant as more of a motivational attainment:



[ ] 2000 Games Played
[ ] $4,000 in Profits
[ ] MTT bink for $1,000+

Just thought I'd leave it up here so that at the end of August I can see how I faired in my endeavors. Will try and keep the updates coming...gl to everyone.

broke even for july, and played 1k hands today since i was bored and have been talking to mikeymoo about poker. Damn, i got a lot worse. I don't feel as crushing when i play against the nl100 regs. I need to get my ball sacks back and start playing better.

First 500 hands I played were pretty bad, but then I got better as I kept playing. It's all comin back to me now. Overall a solid sesh so nothing to be unhappy about.

I am not sad, however, as I have a strong roll (~330) to continue and have made steady improvements to my game due to excellent feedback from fellow LP players on some of my hands. As a recreational player, I am happy to be learning as much as I have about the game this past month. For the last 5000 hands or so, I have improved on giving up when I'm beat and extracting more value out of weak opponents. I'm beginning to understand the concept of putting opponents on a range and reading them accordingly. Looking forward to the next 10000-20000 hands to see result improvements (ideally) NL 10 rush is gonna get pwned!

Summer always has and always will be tough to play a lot of hands for me. Specially since i moved from California back to Estonia (small country between Sweden and Russia). Here in EST the summer is unbelievably hot this year. So it is very hard to keep my ass at home behind the tables. Only time I can play in during the night nowadays since it's cooler and no distractions are disturbing me in any possible way.
I got back to Tallinn and started to rent an apartment in downtown Tallinn. Due to the economy the rent prices are cheap as hell here. So I finally got to buy myself a little goodies to help my poker game. First i bought a table 55$(original 110). Then the chair 100$ (original price 200). And then the Monitor Samsung syncmaster 2433 which cost me another 330 bucks. And to make my ''office'' complete i also added some subwoofer + 2 speaker system to it. Now i can finally enjoy myself a little more behind the computer.
Poker has been going relatively good this month as i have managed to make +6000$ with rakeback in 200nl. Due to not playing every day i haven't gotten my shit together enough to move up to 400 nl, but im planning to make that happen in September. Or go broke trying. My HEM is still not working (planning to put windows 7 to my computer instead of xp and hopefully get it working soon).

Some goals for August:
*play at least 40 k hands
*start taking shots to 400 nl again
*Try to put at least 4 hours a day on poker 5 times a week minimum
*Play some sessions with my friends
*Analyze at least 1 new video a week

canadian open poker championship in calgary starting the 19th

I'm gonna sell around 50% of my 5k HU action at 1.2 :1 the event is best of 3 and 200bb starting stacks and 40 minute blind increases not 100% on this

I'm python817 on stars I'm mainly a 6max player now but I've played a ton of HU before results were tracked and still occasionally play 4 tabling matches against regs when I can get em to so I'm not too bad HU

For those of you that play on multiple sites:

Do you think the extra 23%-28% in rakeback available on European sites trumps Full Tilt's games and software? For me, FTP has the best software and I think it's almost worth it giving up the extra % and playing in (slightly) tougher games and not having to worry about tables crashing (iPoker), HUD not working (Ongame), and not seeing hands at showdown (Boss). Because I'm now able to put in more and more volume, and hopefully moving up in stakes with gawdawful's help ^^, I'm thinking of perma moving my roll to Euro sites and taking advantage of the extra monies.

What do you think?
