I've got a ton of stuff to update. Haven't blogged much this month since I haven't played much poker. Probably down like 10k or so due to random variance, less then steller play and such. Doesn't bother me at all, since it's over such a super small sample. However, I've gotten a lot of shit done this month anyway.
First of all I've got my new computer set up. It's a really sweet grind station right now. Figured out a few ways to be more effective so when I actually get back to being a grind machine, I think that I'm likely to actually have a very high ev/hour. Also going to put in a lot of effort of getting better in omaha. The game is just more interesting then NL right now and I feel that there's a lot more room for a decent edge there.
Also got a girlfriend now. That's pretty sweet. Takes up some time though.
Hello everyone. I've been lurking around the forum for about a year now and thought it would do me some good to start blogging and contributing to the forum.
I started playing just under a year ago (late 2009) and started to do my grinding at NL10. Started to really get into the game and was reading a lot of the posts here about anything related to poker and the hardships that people overcame before their grand successes. After about 6-8 months of grinding, I moved up to 6-tabling NL200 6-max and some heads-up on the side. I have a habit of doing stupid stuff and decided it was time to bust 70-80% of my bankroll in under two days. Determined to rebuild and move my way back up, I decided to switch up sites, clear my database, and really try to think about how I play poker.
I've been rebuilding my roll at NL50 this September and I feel great doing it too. I feel that busting most of my roll was a good experience and helped me grow as a player (although I did not feel that way at the time). I am sticking to 4-tabling 6max thus far, although I usually switch to two tables of HU/6max each to keep me from going into autopilot or surfing the net.
I have a tendency to go into a "loose-passive mode with random spazzing" after losing 3-4bi into a session. My play becomes much sharper after I lose around 6-7. I feel that is one leak I see myself recreating so far in my sessions (I also have a tendency to play long losing sessions when it should be quite the opposite... stoploss maybe?). Aside from those two big leaks, the other smaller ones I intend to fix when I adjust my play at NL50 (4betting light way too much against standard regs, etc).
Most likely will take many days off with the release of Civ5 so close and SC2 starting to pick up again.
My buddy's bachelor party and another friends birthday, so were getting 3 suites at the Aria casino.
I want to play a lot of poker, but as I am still in micros and college, I will be playing in a few of the tournaments they have. The rest of the time I will probly be sloshed. If anyone is interested in hanging out, PM me or post here!
thinking of maybe a sc name, boxer comes to mind. (from slayers boxer)
its a dude, so many more "funny" names for a fat little dude dog, imagine him running through the hallway like superslow kinda bounching up and down with the belly tuching the floor
Awsome, they took like 5 minutes to reply (no exaggeration)
"Hello Francisco,
Thank you for contacting PokerStars.
The intention of your image at PokerStars is to identify you to other players at the table, in much
the same way as your face would identify you in a live game. Thus, if we allow too many image
changes, it will detract from that concept.
Anyway, we have updated your account privileges so you may change your image.
To change it, start the PokerStars software, and from the Lobby screen, select:
'Account' -> 'Select/Change Image'
Please let us know if we can assist you further, and thank you for playing at PokerStars.
Pokerwise I have not played that much, just mixing it up with some NL10, 0.25/0.50 Razz and some 2$ SNGS. Nothing special to update. I have been thinking about getting some coaching and have been in contact with some guys, what worries me is that I might be too much of a rookie and perhaps should put in more hands (have like 30-40k online) before consulting my leaks?
On saturday we are starting our yearly "Brännboll"tournament(think softball) with all the student corridors in our student complex(16 corridors, 20 ppl in each). It is kind of hard to explain the fuss but I will show you a clip to ensure you that it is serious business.
I study at Lund University which is one of the larger student cities in Sweden and I have to brag that I have experienced some pretty sick parties here. I can not tease without please so here is another clip from a Swedish holiday called Valborg!
