*finally going into business soon(hold one time)
*using the fail website and convert it to webvertise, showcase and hopefully process some payments within the coutnry thru paypal
*going to learn a martial art called filipino kali, a.k.a arnis
*playing poker but just going to try to limit playing time to 1 to 2 hour daily
started going to my first class last night. pretty interesting martial art this filipino Kali, it has southeast asian variations like pentak and some krav maga, i wonder why no one from this discipline ever competed in MMA, seems like fucking awesome incorporated with boxing, jujitsu. its basically what jason bourne and steven segal use lolz
it's basically not a stick based fighting style but weapon-based, which is quite unique since you are always taught to get a weapon first before using fists and usually pure standup is considered as a last resort in cqb.however it is by no means pretty as how it is shown in videos and movies, but a good practioner can kick anyone's ass in streetfights or situations. So we start with sticks and eventually end up using our bare hands and even have grapples called "dumog" which is sort of a similar style to greco-roman but always has emphasis on strikes. if i go to prison someday knife fighting will be no problem for me lol. just look at these fine filipino gentlemen
With rakeback i was up $17.32 Putting my cash BR at $217.32.
Things I noticed. I NEED TO STOP GETTING BUSTED WITH OVERPAIRS VS SETS. I look back at hands and i'm like, "oh yeah he played that like textbook set" so yeah. Mostly just pot controlling. AA is still just a pair so stop overplaying it. that's my biggest leak that I'm seeing now. Of the two big downswings 3 of them were this. the other was pretty standard top and bottom pair vs top 2. not worried about that spot. Umm yeah, just looking to grind up my personal roll here so I'll try to get some volume in daily and post it on here....wont always be 3k hands but yeah...ship it
So after getting bashed on a bit by a buddy of mine via messenger I did some thinking. Before I always looked at poker as - when I was winning I was playing good and things were supposed to be that way. And then these horrid downswings of mine were just plain bad luck. I will not deny that I do believe my downswings are worse than a lot of poker player's but surely not the worst. However, I believe that the true cause of my swings are the fact that - when I am winning I have huge confidence and make more aggressive and bold plays resulting in a lot more dead money profited that I otherwise wouldn't obtain. When I am losing and on a downswing - my negativity instigates a lot of absurd action (calling down lighter because "I cannot be possibly beat this many times." I will have to work very hard as I do not understand how to clear my mind when I am losing. I'm sure many can relate with the thoughts I possess - no matter who you are - when you haven't had your AA hold vs KK in a month it wears on you. Poker is so easy when you are winning. It's when you are you losing you are seperated from the rest. I could be grinding 2/4 by now if I had all those thousands of dollars I lost because I couldn't fold my 55-JJ to a 3 bet or by not following my plan ("If he calls my double barrel on this board I cannot fire the river." Instead I am playing NL 50 again. Time to turn things around and now that I am back in school I want to set a goal to be a 2/4 reg by time I graduate (Summer 2013). I'm tired of whining and not taking the bad with the good - How the fuck can I cry when I am "unfairly losing" money I won off a game in the first place - not to mention poker paid for my first semester of school. Long read, thanks, and sorry for spamming the blogs with useless nonsense and stupidly declaring I would quit poker.
My first winning session since December 5th. And no, a winning day did not spark this insight - It was last night that I realized how idiotic my logic was. Thanks Nightless.
Edit: I was just given a random $200 by FTP deposited about an hour ago.... Anyone know what this could be for?
started poker again, and used Holdem manager again wich was a great help to me,
started playing 2.25$ on demand on full tilt,
these tourneys run very good for me, there is so much fish around, its just search and destroy
soon ill hope grinding midstakes MTTS
also started 10NL full ring cashgames wich ran pretty bad (as always :s) Although it was RUSH poker, i got so much coolers and suckouts
my leaks are so much bigger in cashgames, dunno why, but it seems harder for me to lay down good hands in cash games.
I've decided I'm going to play some NL10 to build my personal BR on the side of the staked SNG action I'll be doing.
I've piddled with it a little and didn't do alot of reading and have spewed a few BI's in the past, but I'm going to take it much more serious now. Watching some video's on CR and going to really try and focus up this week while I'm inbetween SNG action and snowed in. Not going to put a volume expectation yet, but mostly just want to get in there and turn a profit for a bit. Starting BR of 200 bucks, looking to run it up to a billion. Go Go Gadget run good me.
I have only played rush-poker a bit for fun before, but yesterday I only had like 30 minutes to play, so I decided to try it out (and had a small success). Today, pretty much EVERYTHING went right. And I also had a lot of lucky jin-turncards as well...
BR now at 3,6k , probably gonna start 4-tabling nl100 soon... Im a pretty big lifetime winner on NL100 and NL200, so it feels kind of weird feeling that it's a big step. But the 18-19 buyins I lost last month on NL100 probably is one of the reasons.
And hand of the day, I'm not sure about the optimal play here, feel free to comment. I was pretty sure he had a flush, but will he valuebet it if I check (part of me wanted to c/r river, but considering my turn play I felt it would look a bit too suspicious).

Since my last blog post I have been tirelessly grinding MTT's. I've had like 3 +$200 days and 3 -$200 days, which means I haven't increased my BR very much since then. I've been thinking about some goals that I would like to achieve this year in poker and I'm going to write them in here so I can look back on them.
Goals
1. Play 4,000 tournaments this year.(I would like feedback from people who have done this.)
2. Have over 15k in profits this year.
3. Make atleast 5 good poker friends to discuss MTT's with.(PM me if you want to be one of these 5)
Non-Poker Goals
1. Lose 10 lbs (I'm 6'3" 215 right now)
2. Eat Healthier
3. Sleep for a minimum of 6 hours per night.(At least 6 days a week)
4. 15% ROI in the stock market this year.
Instead of playing a bunch of the $1 - $5 multi entry tournaments I'm going to replace them with $3.30 90 mans for the time being. Small sample but heres my graph from $3.30's last night. 3 wins in 34 tournies, I ran really good heads up.
I still have a 750k ticket that I'll probably be using this weekend. I decided not to use it this past sunday since it was multi entry. Thanks for reading.
