Since my last blog post I have been tirelessly grinding MTT's. I've had like 3 +$200 days and 3 -$200 days, which means I haven't increased my BR very much since then. I've been thinking about some goals that I would like to achieve this year in poker and I'm going to write them in here so I can look back on them.
Goals
1. Play 4,000 tournaments this year.(I would like feedback from people who have done this.)
2. Have over 15k in profits this year.
3. Make atleast 5 good poker friends to discuss MTT's with.(PM me if you want to be one of these 5)
Non-Poker Goals
1. Lose 10 lbs (I'm 6'3" 215 right now)
2. Eat Healthier
3. Sleep for a minimum of 6 hours per night.(At least 6 days a week)
4. 15% ROI in the stock market this year.
Instead of playing a bunch of the $1 - $5 multi entry tournaments I'm going to replace them with $3.30 90 mans for the time being. Small sample but heres my graph from $3.30's last night. 3 wins in 34 tournies, I ran really good heads up.
I still have a 750k ticket that I'll probably be using this weekend. I decided not to use it this past sunday since it was multi entry. Thanks for reading.
so sundays epic degeneracy was an epic backfire. i dusted every tourney on bubble or earlier ;-)
woke up monday with $5 on my account...to deposit from my depleted bank or say fuck it and man up and grind. (kinda need most my $ in bank right now, gotta smoke n ski! =)
takin my time, 100bi all the way up, doing $1 45 mans/$1 90 mans and $1 MTTs til $200, then I get to unlock $2 MTT's with my $1 sngs, although can't start the 180 man $2's til I have $300 since the variance is a tad higher in those turbos. Get to start $3.25s at 300 too! this is gonna be really fun, i have a goal of 50k by end of month, 10% of that in this short month would bring a smile to my face =)
Dec 31 - BR Start $5 - BR end $130 : Hrs played 3
Jan 1st - BR Start $130 - BR end $170 : Hrs played 3

Its been 6 years in the game and i've never done 100bi all the way up and stuck to it. its finally time :-)
Instilling discipline is one of the final things that have been keeping me from being a dominating force in the scene "in my opinion, as we all have our own"
So yeah, doing that and getting back into pure grinder mentality.
Boils down to prize pools not mattering at all, sticking to roi and earning / letting my firsts come =)
Just did a nice cashout before this, skiing a ton this month and gonna do my best to get atleast 3-8 hrs of grinding in daily 5-6 days a week
omg just got a new drum, circle on sunday, can't wait !
lolhaters, this is / was all calculated. the degen session was made after paying back 2-3k in debts this month on the last weekend of the month. even made a post before the session started -_-
I bought this new 32 inch flatscreen television to watch tv in my room.
I dont have a dvd player to go with it, but i have a HD that i can connect to the tv to watch movies i downloaded.
But i have lots of movies on dvd too, like 100+.
I dont wanna buy a new dvd player obv since i have a HD, but here's my question:
Can i rip the dvd's to my pc and put them on my HD?
With which program, and i what format should i rip them?
Easy money in poker?by DustySwedeDude, February 02
So a friend of mine needs some income. He's really smart and probably fairly level headed when it comes to these things. Knows very little about poker except the rules of hold'em. Reasonable math skills and good deductive skills. Doesn't have to be a high hourly, but it'd be cool if he could make like 10 bux/hour or so fairly fast. Obviously I'd have to teach him some stuff but overall I'd like it to be as simple as possible. Any ideas?
So i got accepted to all schools i applied for (wish i had applied for better schools now) But was really unsure where my GPA would get in. I highly overrated how schools judged College Transfer GPA, and due to my first 35 units of college being 2.3'ish cause i was miserable doing it, took me quite a lot to bring it up. but 3.17 overall transfer gpa is pretty solid considering the 2.3 35unit start haha.
Anywho for those of you who know a little about California colleges where would you choose
Small Jan results/Feb goalsby BJLTNYK, February 01
Not putting in nearly enough hours to get going on having a big year...but coaching ends in 2 weeks so I'm still optimistic about what's ahead. Plan on having a decent month and grinding my way out of small stakes SNG/MTT land.
Can someone PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING GOD tell me: Is there some kind of switch that FTP has that they just turn on whenever they want? Once again then only time I flopped sets today it's on a FD+SD flop and either the opponent flopped the nuts or they flat and the worst turn always comes. I haven't touched poker since my last blog on Jan 11th and I figured I would give poker a 3 buy in shot today. The actual reason I did this was because poker followed the same routine as last year (Banking Aug-Nov and then never winning a session Dec-Jan and then making 40 buy ins in Feb). So I was hoping Feb would bring luck but literally I saw no change whatsoever since my last sessions. I am still losing the in most disgusting fashion. I posted a lot of hands today... Just look through and see for yourself. I have a buy in and a half left that I will play with tomorrow and if I lose that I will cash out my roll and never touch FTP again until sometime far far in the future.
Every time I log in and play now it never ceases to amaze me that this can still be going on. It just doesn't make any sense. When do bad runs end? Or does it depend on sources outside of poker? General luck/fate etc?
forgot my FTP pin, how do i recover/get a new one?by whamm!, February 01
so ijust realized i forgot my ftp pin, i tried to search for details how to get it back but it seems i only get unregistered to any tournaments but have no clue or directions how to get a new one or reset it, god i love ftp lol
Well, I've made the move and I've been settling into Poznan quite nicely for the past 3 weeks. I plan to make a post about more personal stuff soon, but for now I have a question.
Now that I'm living in Europe, I should have access to the euro poker sites and partypoker, so which ones are considered the best? I never cared at all in the past since I couldn't play them, but now I need suggestions . Also I need to find out more about funding my account. I assume I'll need some other bank account, or maybe I can use Moneybookers as I'm not in the USA anymore?
Weeeell I cleared the Iron man bonus (got $75 or something) and made $40 in a freeroll thing for rakeback, so I felt comfortable to take a 25nl shot!
...Didn't go so well. This is the 25nl only graph for the last week of me doing mostly 25nl without the bit of 10nl here and there when there were no decent 25nl games, with required allin ev for extra whine, now in orange!
well at least my redline is breakeven had some pretty sucky hands, but nevermind, gotta keep on going! I am pretty small volume too so it takes me ages to get anywhere Back to 10nl for now I think, regrind and reshot.
Feb 1, done with prop betby Pokerpoopy, February 01
Finished that prop bet finally, made my 300K vpps.
Finished up with +$20K profit total for the month, even though I lost a whopping 13K at the tables. Excited about starting the grind off nice and on pace this month so I don't have to lose all my $$ getting crazy volume in at end of month again.
Will be nice to actually win again, gl at the tables y'all.
cashed out my ap roll because somehow i run like complete shit there (some 30 bi below ev over like 40k hands) and started from scratch at stars. had $18 in my roll, now up over $200 and playing 10nl. trying to think a lot more and generally just improve my game. watching a lot of aejones, ansky, and galfond videos because i feel they describe their thought processes very clearly and i guess i just look up to them more than other instructors for whatever reason. was 12-16 tabling 5nl and jumped down to 4 tables when i got to 10nl and it moves a lot slower but this way i can obviously concentrate better on individual hands. one hand i'm pretty proud of from a session i just played:

duno if that's a brag or whatever but since i'm posting a 10nl blog i had to throw it there because it's definitely my favorite hand since i got back to stars. either way i'm having a blast with poker for the first time in a long time and i hope everyone else is doing the same. for january i made roughly $200 between 2nl and 5nl and i'm looking to keep it up and get back to 25nl, which i feel is the first limit where you can make "decent" money (considering i make $10/hour at my job).
GL at the tables lp leeann and i salute you for reading!
NL25 Graph. Kinda wondering why I ever played on stars. Pretty nice playing on FTP and not having to find the 3 fish that exist at the 6 max tables.
Getting ready to move up to NL50 soon. I'm a little over 30BI atm, but I want to make sure my NL25 game is solid enough and is not short term variance. Any suggestions on the differences and adjustments I may need to look for would be appreciated
Expect my next blog to be something along the line of "Nl50 runbad," cause my first shots never seem to go well
Anyways, now that you read the ramblings of some micro scrub (Thanks btw!), heres the promised laughs. Enjoy!
I dedicated this January to learning masstabling and deciding whether or not I should go for SNE.
I wanted to get like 100k-110k VPPs minimum and have at least positive results if I were to go for SNE.
Unfortunately, the results were not satisfying at all. I really had big trouble playing more than 12 tables and even more than 9 was quite difficult.
After like 3 weeks of playing 15-18 tables and steadily loosing, I lost the believe that it will just turn and decided to just go back to playing 6-9 tables, mostly deep games (oppossed to mostly shalow tables when masstabling).
That resulted in making less VPPs than I wanted to and the results didnt get much better either. Partly because of running pretty poorly during the whole month and partly because clearly I need to get back to my A game.
In numbers, I lost $16.3k, ev-wise I lost $4.7k, which is like my 2nd worst month ever or so. At least I played 132k hands and made 91.7k VPPs, which translates to $5.1k in rakeback purely from FPPs (not counting stellar rewards and milestones), so I can comfort myself saying that ev-wise and after rakeback I made some pocket change
Anyway, as of now chasing SNE is not a priority. In February I will try to get back to my A game by playing mostly 5-9 40-100bb tables at midstakes (2/4-5/10). I still hope to make some 60k VPPs or so, so that I could still possibly jump back to the SNE race later, but like I said, its not a priority atm. Getting back the winning mindset is.
Thats it, hopefully my next progress update will be better. Hope you guys had a better start of the year than me.
