The end of January kind of sucked, I dropped about $230 on Tuesday night at NL 100 thanks to ridiculous suckouts like AA < 42s (which raised PF and called a reraise) all-in on a K86 flop, where he flopped a flush draw and hit runner runner straight. The same guy also hit a 3 outer on the river against me earlier, when AQ < AK on an AQ92 board, K on the river. Total stats for January were pretty meh, $464.00 profit over 19,807 hands. Also made $332.50 in tourneys though and another $350ish and bonuses and rakeback. I definitely feel like I'm a solid winner at NL 100 though after playing there a decent bit, so my Feb. goal is 30k hands there. I want to move over to Full Tilt or maybe even Stars for a little bit, but it looks like getting cash out of UB is going to take forever at the moment.

Bored whilst 4 tabling thought id create a blog.

Been playing since late december, started with the free $75 promotion.

Current BR is at $360 or so after todays session, it would probably be higher but ive played around with tournaments a lot and different types of games to try and improve my play, i think im a winning player at NL10.

Current session is going well, im up about 2 buyins, even after losing 2 buyins with QQ vs AA, not sure if my call was good but oh well.

I keep doing very well, then knocking myself back down.

Self control is my greatest leak right now. At least now I recognize it. I keep making excuses for myself that lets me think that it is still ok to play when I should not be playing.

I decided to try 100NL out,I was only 4 tabling. Was up a little more than 3 buyins and then ran into one badly played hand by myself and one set up. I flopped top two pair A's and 7's and the guy turned a set of 10's. So before I lost anymore I decided to stop and head to the gym, and maybe put in another session when I get back before I go out.

Net : +170.15

Finished another small session mostly omaha some 50NL mixed in. Ran well on one of my omaha table where a had a 370$ stack in .5/1.
So in all i ended up pritty nice

January was a good month for me in poker. After 2 months of losing (november and december), I really needed to start winning again or else I could have had lost all hope.

I didnt only start winning again in January, I actually won a decent amount, at least decent for me. Here are the pictures:

So, I basically fully recovered from the 2-months-long downswing and made something on top of it. Plus of course I am not counting rakeback and some bonuses, which makes it even better. I also doubled my Bankroll in January and started playing NL200. I dont plan to make some big cashouts in the near future, so if I will continue playing good (and running good ), I think I will be able to start NL400 in less than 2 months. (And that means properly rolled for it by my measures - Ket would prolly be playing NL400 with my BR for several weeks already.)

Besides poker, I also had my school exams during this month. I have to admit that I didnt put a lot of effort to doing well in school during the last semestr (like I went to school about 8-10 hours a week on average, which really is not much), so the exams were kinda difficult for me. Anyway, I managed to pass enough of them to be able to continue studying. I didnt pass all exams though, so I will have to study some subjects again in future semesters.

And, I also decided to renew my activity in Starcraft:Broodwar scene a bit, since my once good and known clan b!ologic was falling to inactivity and I and some of my fellow clan members do not like it. So we decided to make a new website for the clan and get a few new members so that b!ologic can once again start kicking asses! Also, I was chosen (among others) to represent my country (Czech Republic) in the new WGTour tournament for Nations - The Galactic Conquest. So I guess I will have to give it some practice, cuz my sc:bw skill went down a lot since the time I was an active player.

I don't know what's going on with my broadband but it really blows. I can't even play properly. I get disconnected every 2 mins and because of this I lost so many $ that I don't even want to think about it. I was getting bad cards as well, a few set-ups (top set vs flopped str8 against 70bb stack etc.) and luckily I ended up only 1 buyin down. I'm not tilting but I'm too pissed off because of this shitty broadband to post any hands. I'll just put my stats from today as usually and that's it for today. Tommorow I'm gonna call those bastards from Orange. My broadband was supposed to be 8mb but I can't even browse the websites now comfortably. I can't play until this gets fixed because I don't feel like flopping a fuckin set in a 3-way reraised pot and getting disconnected again. Ughhhhhhhh. Now I'm going to cook sth nice to relax cause I'm soooo pissed off at those bastards from Orange (it's not my computer's fold - I tried even my friends' laptops and it's the same).

so today started off decent. i woke up and i dont feel too sick nemore and decided to sit with thie ss fish @ NL400 so i did. he took a lil from me but i got it back then it became a full table w 2 regs i think and i kept playing and i lost a buyin lol i had turned 2 pair and he turned a set w that very card. i shoujldve layed it down it was stupid=/. then i proceeded to lose a lil @ NL200 and like that im down nearly 500 on the day. all progress from previous days gone haha. o well im not too shaken by it. it sux but w/e nothing i can do but win it back later. its funnny cuz i look back on when i began NL200 or NL100 for that matter and ive come a long long way i really feel as if my game has gotten A LOT better. the NL200 studs still see me as a fish...man im such a station chris55555=/. but w/e who isnt a fish right. i gotta take a shit get a book and some supplies and get to class. peace nuccas.

Anyone knows how long it'll take before I get my regcode?

Anyway...

...this day will probably go to history as one of the worst I’ve had as far as poker goes. I down about 500 USD on NL100 due to me being allin for +100bb with draws 3 times without hitting one of them (I was drawing dead on the biggest one), never hitting anything and not getting any action on my big hands. Then I guess I played some hands pretty bad too. It’s all good anyway, I’ll learn some modesty and I can hopefully keep from getting to cocky. In the end I actually played really good and didn’t call shit unless I had odds, which often is a leak for me. No hard tilting or anything. Anyway, I decided that it was finally time to get pokertracker since I felt that I really need it now. I need to find out how my pairs, sc’s and such are doing and I’d really much like to know if there’s any more obvious leaks in my game that I can find from PT. I think that maybe I’ve been focusing to much on fast profits and to little on actually getting better and even if I’ve become a much better player now then I was a month ago I feel that I probably could do much better. Anyway, the lessons for the day is:

FE doesn’t exist vs random halfstacks.
Don’t call when your blocking bets gets raised…

Also:

I'd like any tips about how to use pokertracker and a few pointers about how to auto-classify players.

I am working on my 3rd attempt to play NL 100. Each time I return to NL 50 I find it easier to play. The issue for me is to not treat it as a leap in play. Just play as you know how.

Posted on 2+2 yesterday my last ~7000 hands at NL 50 on UB, but I'll just say it is going well. The one thing I have noticed is players just not giving you credit. They have a short memory. After I show down a monster, a few orbits later there someone is calling down with a marginal hand. Makes it easy to beat with these players at the table.

Last night during play, I sat down and saw a lot of 3-betting. Before I felt, OK I need to get tricky and play back at them. Then a buyin later I am wondering what went wrong. I decided to give them credit and just play my game and sure enough things worked out alright. I'll be back at it again tonight so I will see if the 3 betting is actually getting light or they are legit.

Because I'm Excel God I created this sheet ;p

I passed both of my goals for January (as you can see I don't have 30k hands on this sheet, but some of them were not recorded in PT).

I also almost doubled this month (actually I did, but in last session I lost some), hope next month will be at least so good.

As a reward I will buy 2x512ddr RAM, because I wanted to try Vista (XP is driving me nuts;/).
