Worst Poker Day EVER by DarkMigore, March 17

My goal for today was to play 1000 hands. Did it! \o/

But I lost 5 buy-ins.

Next goal: Play 1000 hands/day and at least break even.

If u don't want to read whinning u should stop reading this news now.

Damnit, cards didn't come, and when i have pocket Aces people just didn't call. So what happens? Being the fucktard that I am, I start to play weaker hands... well, we know the results of these actions.

Just some minutes ago i got pocket aces, not significant board cards came in the flop, so I lagged a bit and I went All-In in the turn. Result: the retarded player made a straight, he had 36o, WHO THE FUCK CALL A PF RAISE WITH THAT?

5 digit weee! by Fayth, March 17

http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/677/5digitgm6.jpg
:D!

I also went yesterday to play some live poker, just relaxing, for fun, stakes were NL100, one of the player there used to be pretty good online, he hosts a french poker forum and well very nice guy overall!

I also bring my friend with me and gave him 60$ to play and i didn't mind if he lost it but if he made any profit i told him to give me half the profit, so he bought in for 60 and ended at 130, +35$ for me!! As for me i was pretty much card dead except for AA once, left the table with 113,50$ (bought in for max obv).

About that AA, some guy raised to 3.50$, i reraised to 12, he calls. flop comes 9 5 5, i bet 25$, he snap calls, i had like 55 left on turn so i just pushed all in (turn was a 7c) no flush on board, he stared at me for a while and said "i'm sure u have nothing.. and he eventually folded showing AKo. I'm amazed at how people can be that bad, he really thought of actually calling me with Ace high lol

I'm quite happy with how i've been running lately, i also cashed out 1.6k that i got in rakeback and if everything goes well i'm gonna cash out a few thousand dollars in the upcoming weeks so i can buy a car! no more bus weee!

#1Questionlist Plz help thx alot by freakzin, March 17

since i'm probably the worst player here with probably the worst case of bad luck . i gotta tune my skills up to 110% so i can lose 6 buyins solely on badbeats and still run 50 bb/100

tho my skills now are probably at 10% so expect alot of questions.
there will b alot of "retarted questions (i think) " these will probably b asked due me having a bad way of thinking.
plz point out why my reasoning is fault etc...

i'm more interested in how & why then just a plain answer.

#1starting hands + positions
how to play these
kq/qj/qj's/jt's utg

suited connectors utg

kq/qj/qj's/jt's in the sb & bb

suited connectors after a 4bb raise in posi say cutoff raise 4bb me in button etc...

45's in sb co makes it 3 bb button calls
#
i'll b adding alot more questions but now in a session so i there should b situations where i'll post =D

zion got powned again .

crazy shit tho those shortstacks ak vs k3 88 vs 77 kk vs 88 99 vs 44 etc... lost em all .

at the end i didn't play too well and i lost 20 $ in 2 hands .

Great Day by Chris_55555, March 17

It feels good to win, it also feels good to know that you’re playing well. I had both of these going for me today, and it feels incredible.

One thing I don’t do as well as I could is making light call downs, ie with second or third pair for stacks or a small overpair. I had two of them today and both were bang on. Here they are

This one the guy posted out of position, so that is a big reason why I didn’t believe him, but more then anything it was gut feeling. For some reason I just felt like he didn’t have it.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?912197

The second one was easier. His line just doesn’t make much sense for a big hand and with the flush draw bricking as well it was rather easy.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?912199

Here are my stats for the day.

I need to start getting more hands in, but that likely wont happen over the weekend. Hopefully next week I can put in some solid hours.

NL50 by DonVale, March 16

Hello all,

So i've decided to dabble in the NL50 games (both FR and 6max) with a $1,300 bankroll. It seems to play the same on 6max but FR seems a little more tight than NL25....I've made like 100 on NL50 and I think that the money I am playing with finally means something to me. On NL25 and NL10 i really didn't care about how much was going into the pot but now i notice how big the pots get. The good thing tho is that even if i lost all my money it wouldn't really affect me in a great way. When i'm playin i just try to think of all the chips as just chips or points that i want to increase every day. Well GL with all ur play.

Fucking hate 100nl by bigbb33, March 16

Down almost two buyins after 400 hands or so, BR at $2200. I have no idea how I can possibly crush 50 NL so easily but get raped at 100NL: maybe it's just variance?.

The only thing holding me back from pulling out my hair and screaming is that I took a lot of shots at 50 NL before being able to beat it, and now I can really rape it. I guess 100NL is going to be the same, but I thought I'd be at least breakeven with my current skillset.

I think my postflop game needs to change a bit, but I'm not sure how. I see people like Fayth and others who are beating 100nl and 200nl and they are playing like 20/17 or 22/18, but I'm playing about 16/13 or 15/12. Maybe the people at 100nl are smart enough to realize my image now and have figured out my game? Postflop I rarely 2 or 3 barrel, usually giving up after I cbet, which is 90% of the time. I could loosen up, but I really hate radically changing my game when moving up, because the price of learning is twice as much, but there is no point changing my game at 50 NL because I'm beating it quite easily.

To analyse the problems a bit more:

Everytime I cbet I get called, and since I have a hand less often than I usually do, I check on the turn and then fold on the river when they bet. But whenever I have a hand and 2 barrel, they insta fold. Obviously they are then floating me often, and the answer would be to start 2 barreling more to push them out, or to cbet less. I'm just unsure as to whether I'm really getting outplayed or it's just variance, though. Maybe I'll play my old, straightforward 15/12 style until I get down to $1900, then go back to $50 NL until I get up to $2400 once again, and I'll loosen up and see what happens.

Oh and fucking PAHud crashes every minute or so, so I basically cannot use it and see people's stats.

Thank God I had so many problems moving up to 50 nl that I can take some confidence from that and realize that I can do the same at 100nl and end up beating it. I would love to be at 5bb/100 at 100nl by the end of April. We'll see.

edit: Was going to go the cardrunners and watch a whole bunch of low stakes vids by GP and Stinger to get me into a LAG mentality, but today's video is 4 tables of 100nl on stars (MY STAKE, MY SITE) by muddywater: YAY.

bad day by Xsho123, March 16

Lost about 4BI today but this is probably the first time I didn't tilt and feel bad. I don't think anyone can stop my KK losing to AA all-in pf or my Kx diamond and hit flush on flop which I moved in only to be beaten by the motherfucka who rivered his A flush and etc which I was ahead when shoved.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159332 you calling me with that?

I found out that playing on UB gives so much more fun.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/158430 wtf? perfect read?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159374 oh yea, you think it's a split?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159337 misclick, bet pot button? thx!

Even though I have been giving out money, I have been enjoying myself. I guess this is the most important thing, playing poker, having fun and not robotic multitabling.

Running gooood and some goals by Jamie217, March 16

OK so I am doing well in 200NL lately and overall I am having a very good March.. Even though Im on March break (in high school still) Im not getting as many hands in as I would like but I cant complain. Some of my goals now is that by June 1st I would like to have 30/35 BI for 400NL and be confident enough to move up then. I think I am going to try and get some lessons from Vanq at CR to try to further improve my game... anyways heres my 200NL stats so far hoping to keep these numbers up

Eh... by AntonChan, March 16

I've been following DonVales progress and that guy is doing amazing. I remember wondering why he's stuck at .01/.02 nl for the longest time. As long as you keep at it, you'll succeed in whatever you do... the same can be said for ggplz.

edit. Here are some hands in which I have made mistakes. pls advise!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159222
Hed was really loose... and kept calling everything

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159205
absolutely no reads on this guy whatsoever... I thought the possibly might have hit his boat... but you wouldn't play your boat like that right? Overpair or trips?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/159187
I think I played this hand well...

20k hands at NL100 by DustySwedeDude, March 16

I'm up 3964.64 USD, running at 9.5 bb/100hands with 18/23/3.3 stats and I'm in love with this game. If I can keep this up for the rest of the month I'll probably buy myself some Champagne or something.

March so far by Gawuss, March 16

Wazzzzzaaaaaa LPers
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r98/gawuss/P2050061a.jpg

I've not much time to play this month, cause I have to pass an exam, which will give me a possibility to choose any high school I want to go to next year. I've played only about 12k hands, mostly on PS. Here is the graph:
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r98/gawuss/01-16march.jpg
I ran pretty good so far, but my cousin, who has teached me how to play poker 2 yrs ago, told me about many mistakes I make. I'll have to focus and try to fix them.
This month I've played also on Party Poker and I'm not running good there... :/ I just can't win anything and am suckouted really often. But I think I'll give it another chance after passing the exam.
Party Poker graph:

hottest news: today I hit 4k bankroll =] the next step is 5k. Step after step and I'll have a million $ soon :D

Ok so that's all today. I'm gonna watch a movie with my friends and chill a little.

peace

P.S. plz, correct me ggplz if there are any mistakes
