I'm not gonna ask you more than at max a question a week maybe and i'm a pretty fun guy all around, I'm playing mostly tournaments lately and i have some advanced play and super deep tournament questions that I'd like to talk about.

I don't know how much I will update this and such, but I just wanted to create this to share my experience so far and listen to what other players have to say in response to my experience or if they want to tell me what they think my weaknesses and leaks are so I can get better.

My poker experience thus far:

I put in $50 in pokerstars about 1 year ago but didn't start playing seriously until I found lp.net in July. Since July I have made 17.5k playing up to 200nl. I have cashed out about 8k of that money so far.

Where I am now

I am now currently playing 100 nl 6 max. Why would I not be playing 200 nl if I have made 17.5k? Well, two weeks ago I lost 3k in one night at 200 nl. I realized a few things, more than a marginal amount of 200 nl regs were much better than me, and on top of that just a few $600 bad beats makes me tilt.

What I want in the future

Making 17.5k so far makes me feel very good about myself, I mean I can buy a lot of things most my friends can't. But I also just want to be a pretty good poker player. I dont want to be an amazing poker player, I just dont think I have that instinct. I feel like maybe I want to be a 400 nl reg that can make thousands of dollars in a year without playing much, just efficiently.

Things I want comments on

In addition to everything above... I want to know what people think about stuff.

1. I am going to use a 100 buyin rule so i never tilt and never look back when I jump a level and ensure everything is 100% about the poker, and also just more fun and less stressful.
2. I have been playing around 20/15 TAG style that works well for me, but when I get in an aggro game I sometimes just fall apart, can my normal 20/15 style work and I am just tilting cause my opponents are more L and AG than me?
3. My PT bb/100 at 100 nl over a huge sample size of maybe 100k hands is around 3, do you guys think that this should be around 5 to move up to prove I am more efficient?
4. While waiting to get 100 buyins for 200 nl I think I want took get coached and take lessons maybe a couple times a month, I feel as though maybe I only have a small (but major) hump to get over in my game and a coach can help that so I am ready for 200 nl and beyond.

Sorry so long but I have lots to say and I just wanna become what you would say a 'good solid player'.

I think some people missunderstood my last entry. I wasnt trying to whine about my results and Im not pretending not to be happy about my results lately. I was just trying to explain how I completely lost the will to play poker for a while, and how its important not to build your life just around one thing. Im not an ungreatful whiny bitch so sorry if you interpertated it like that. Just remember, money isnt everything(HUH WTF!?)

Anyways, like I said, I took a break for a couple of days. I still frequented the forums and discussed poker here and there but tried to fill my head with other stuff and it worked out quite well. Also went to see my parents and brother over the weekend + meeting up with some good friends etc. Pretty damn baller.

So yesterday I got back to my appartment here in Uppsala and today I played my first session since my last blog entry. I think taking a break really helped me. Today I was in a really positive mindstate and I really enjoyed playing poker again. I was also running good so what else can you ask for?

Also, spring is slowly emerging here in sweden. ITS SO FUCKING AWESOME!!!

I dont think one can really appriciate what spring means to most of us in this god forsaken country. Living 6-7 months in darkness with nothing but snow and freezing cold weather can destroy even the most cheerful individual. But once spring comes with warmth, sun and tanned beautiful girls everywhere its all fucking worth it.

My bankroll has reached an all time high: $500 bucks lmao.

The thing is, if I've never transferred money to my friend in the past I would have 25 buy ins for 25nl. A decent amount. So my goal is to stick at 10nl.

I already have a decent BB/100 poker tracker says 5-7 (but on days where I'm not running good or down it goes to like 4).

I have a feeling that by playing at this stake for a bit longer I actually get to understand more of the game rather than rushing and trying to move up asquickly as possible

So, I played the first round of the poker league. The blind structure was really nice. 10k chips, 25/50 - 25 minutes. After every 25 minutes you got 3 minutes to talk with your team. Things started out great and I had almost 20k going into the second brake. Some well timed bluffs, and overall solid play. I tried to bluff a guy with his Q high flush. Then something happened that had never happened before. I didn't get any cards, nothing. For about 2.5 hours I didnt get a decent hand. So the blinds started to eat off of my stack. I found QJ off and moved allin, I managed to tripple up with a K high straight. I still only had about half of what the average stack had, so not much to do.. After about 30 mins, I found 99 and moved allin, only to get a call by AK. I was out 22'nd out of 60. Our team was really unlucky, out captain had found AA, and moved in preflop facing QQ and KK. Flop came Q high - turn AND river Kings. It was alot of fun to playing 5-6 hours of poker.

I was sort of hungover and I didn't manage to shave, I'm the guy with the blue sweater.

Alright well BR update is now $504.99 so I will be taking a stab at 25NL and I expect to do just fine. 10NL Was a bitch, difficult to play with tons of shortstacks and fishy players until I got the hang of it and I'm looking forward to pushing around a few more nits as I move up.

I hope to be at 50NL within a few weeks time. Played roughly 20K hands of 10NL the first 10K of which were fishy of me in which I had gotten away from the tactics I used to cruise through 5NL.

On I side note I really need to play a shitload more hands.

so wow what a shitty session. i couldnt get anything going dfor the most part. stupid fish kept check minraising me, im down like 2.5-3 buyins...make it back and get up to 1.5 buyins up, only to lose to 2 huge coolers and make a sorta bad call and down 2/5 buys again lol.

At the weekend I couldn't play at all because I was at my gf's place (as I'm nearly all weekends) :/

So basically I've decided to change my game from FR to 6max. Reason is obvious, FR seems to be really just waiting for nuts. Because I have quite nice BR for NL25 I've started there. I know that it will SERIOUSLY pause my progress in building BR but I really want to have fun and play some real poker not just waiting at FR so I will sacrifice some time to learn 6max to have more fun (+many ppl say it's more profitable)


I'm too much overagroing and c/betting on flops, I lost nearly 60$ on that. It isn't that easy to change from FR to 6max but I will work hard and analyze my game to be good there asap! I just need more patiance and BR managment (no, going to NL50 6max wasn't great idea with my BR!)

After little readjustment to 6max I've started to feel better about my game there and started to gain some $$$ but then suddenly (ALAS!) bad beats came to my town plundering every pot that should have been mine. So with AK on AKx flop I've got called by QQ only to get rivered for flush. Or holding QQ on xx6 flop get called by K6 and river card is ....... the King !

I've let of some steam and hopefully I'll play some more games tommorow.

Went from up 300 to down 300 pronto thanks to some annoying beats. I guess a couple of them could've been pitched, but ugh, I hate folding overpairs.

Heres my month so far, and since its incredibly crappy and I decided to cash a bit of money out, I'll be back grinding 50nl for the rest of the month. Hopefully, I can recoup some of these losses.

I'm done exams on Apr 20th, and after that, I'll be free to play 6+ hrs a day. Hopefully by then I can figure out a way I can 9 or 12 table 50nl effectively.

Btw, if you guys have any suggestions for monitors/laptops, pls lemme know. I'm contemplating getting three $1000 futureshop (electronic store) gift certs to buy a laptop and a monitor to go nuts on.

yeah ive pretty much moved up now. i feel 5/10 is beatable and its not as annoying and stressed as 3/6 w/ all this overaggression. I've payed Steve some monies to help me out a bit and we had a little introduce lesson yesterday wich was a bit interesting, im sure it will affect my game in a good way. last days have been ok but today i lost a lot 80/20 allin pre so it sucks. but what can i say i think ive reached the bottom of this badstreak and it should turn anyday so i expect to run goooooood at 5/10.

I got the question yesterday; "why are u hansen jr if youre playing higher than hansen?"
I can just say that my brother is so cool w/ his 4bb/100 winrates at nl400 (gay). i expect myself to have more monies than him v soon.

another big thing was i talked w/ frinkx today through ventrilo, what a man!! i hope well talk more later.

Good news everyone, after having a really really bad day yesterday the day started as bad as yesterday. You will see that in the added graph. Now you're asking yourself why it's a good news? Well I managed to win all back with a magical right in time hugeass upswing of +7 BI in just 1,000 hands.

I'm really glad I came back up, it was very frustrating just to think about grinding it back up. There was one very very lucky hand that I'd like to open a discussion with. I know I didn't play it well but I have no clue how to play that hand at all.
