No, I didn't run awfully, I just got an awful cold. Headache, runny nose, chesty cough and that kind of shit. Because of that I didn't play much yesterday and I focused on watching some vids on CR etc. I also watched the last episode of Prison Break and I'm pissed off with how it ended. Anyone knows when will the 3rd season air?
In the evening I played a short session and dropped like $150 (one bad call for $50, rest was rather bad luck). I had to switch sites like every 5 minutes cause my Poker Tracker is fucked up. I'm gonna make an SQLdatabase today or sth like that. I don't get it at all but my friend advised to do so. Oh and I'm back on Party now and I finally feel like at home. This is definitely my favorite room and I'll hope my results will improve there. Now I'll get all the party software like betpot, handgrabber etc installed and get some hands in.
My goals for April are to play 30-40k hands (gotta prepare for my IELTS exam which I'm taking on 5th May), study the game a lot and I'd like to make like 3-3,5k with rakeback. We'll see how it goes
There wasn't any good NL100 games going and one of the worst fishes on the server was sitting at a few NL200 tables so I joined those for like half an hour and ran really good. Got overpairs and shit allin pf a few times and they held up so I made a bit over 300 USD. Really nice. I'm up a bit of 600 USD for the month which is nice since I was down a lot just 2 days ago. I'm still down like 300 USD in the NL200 game but that's ok since I'm pwnin' it up at NL100 with 29/23/2.5 donkey stats.
I read something by Ket when he wrote something about inducing misstakes rather then not making misstakes and this donkeystyle is really good for that. People play back at me with all kinds of shit, some dude openpushed AQo vs a big raise I did vs multiple limpers from the SB and I stacked him with AA. The theory is basicly that if you raise a lot of shit pf and contbet a lot people will figure out that you basicly bluff a lot, and if you make some overbet bluffs with air vs obvious weakness and then shows then a lot of retards will stack off with any kind of hand vs turn shoves and such which is really, really good for profit. I think the best thing about this is that there are very few LAGs at unibet which makes the regulars uneasy when people raise a lot from late pos. As you can see from my stats I’m not even aggressive, but people still pays me of and I basicly just contbet in pots where I’m kind sure that noone hit and I don’t 2nd barrel unless scarecards comes off. Funny shit.
I had a nasty downswing my first session returning to 100nl and lost about 4 buy ins. It was pretty sick, I flopped the nuts every hand and got sucked out on. I handled it very well though and stopped playing before my losses became to severe. I started playing a lot of 3/6 shorthanded fixed limit. I have been crushing it for about a week now and made around 1400$ in about 3100 hands. One of my friends suggested I stick to playing fixed limit while im running so hot at it and I think im gonna follow his advice. My bankroll is close to 3k now so I am well on my way to recovery. I'll probably start playing 100nl again soon but fixed is nice for a change.
I have really been playing and running bad in mtts. I dont know whats with me lately.. I used to make it deep like all the time.. but now I keep donking my stack off doing retarded stuff.. (and getting sucked out on occasionally) But im convinced im losing them due to bad play.. If you look up the top MTT players on pokerdb they always make a lot of final tables every month. Also I noticed that my ITM% is basically the same as most of the mtt pros... which means I am playing bad in the mid to late game phases. Im gonna start studying PXF videos and forums because I really want to get better.. I would really like a nice mtt score or two, especially since I wont be donking it off at highstakes this time around.

... So today sucked some royal ass. Started off the day early and played a session that lasted 2 hours and came out of it down $450. Then after my nap and a work out I kicked up another session and managed to lose another $500 all at NL200. Like wtf... I think this picture sums up what I'm feeling:
Notice how I'm still smiling? I'm pretty sure I was stuck like $300 all to Daut and Lyric at the time this picture was taken. This about sums up my feeling of fake wonderfulness. I feel like jumping into oncoming traffic.
On another note, I'd like to take this time to point out how bad carrotsnake is at poker. Why do people at twoplustwo think this guy is the God of NL200 on Stars?
This guy is so stupid it hurts my head. If you think he's good or hard to play against, your probably not too good yourself. There is no way this guy wins at the winrate he claims on the twoplustwo forums.
So, Basically I'm not the best poker player here by a long shot. I'm always trying to improve like everyone else and I have pretty good grasp on the game etc. Anyway when I see so many idiots playing NL100 or even micro stakes then asking retarded questions that any penny donk would know. I get life tilted. Or actually I just like having fun with these morons. So if you suck don't try and give advice. And if you do give advice and its wrong. Then prepare to get your shit rocked! Not everyone is gonna just be like oh yeah sorry you're wrong. I'd assume they tell you you were stupid blah blah blah. That way it'll sink in and you'l lremember!
If no one has read someones blog yet (freakzin) then do it cuz its hilarious. 10K Fight yO~~~~ I love you all.
P.S. - this in no way is a post to say i'm better than everyone or shit like that, but some people need to use common sense before posint their retarded shit/questions.
So today i went to train like the usual with my friends, and well while driving there it seemed they changed the hours when u can't drive in the 'bus + taxi' way.
So there was this cool cops just being there like a prick and he came after me, that's 151$ down the drain, SUCK OUT!!!!!
Ah well, good thing is i play poker and make far more money that the average 20 yrs old so it didn't really anger me all that much.
Hello, some of you may know me not by David (my real name) but as naranjito, an ex brood war player from Peru.
My motivation in creating this blog is to keep track of my success/failure and to know if I'm really cut off to be a professional poker player (that's my main motivation, although very improbable, but I'm gonna try).
My goal is to sustain myself with something that I really like to do, and not what I must do (boring works, etc). Although my ultimate goal in life is to make a movie (or several) and for that I need the monies. Monies that I will earn from poker (a game I'm really enjoying as of late) hopefully.
The Start
So, long story short, my bw mate iG.Fenris talked to me about pokerstrategy, and how I got 50$ absolutely free to play poker at party. I didn't believe this at first but everyone in the bw community was talking a lot about poker, so I really wanted to try it, and got my first 50$ in January, about 4 months ago. I have a lot to thank to Fenris even if he just casually talked to me about poekrstrategy. He isn't much known here I guess but he makes a lot of money from poker, high stakes.
From there I learned everything I could from the pokerstrategy articles, and since I thought the shortstack strategy which they promoted was really gay, I decided to play with a full stack since the beggining.
I realize now that I got mass lucky, because I earned up to 150$ in my first wekk, by playing a lot and basically going all with in NL10$ just with Top pair, top kicker on the flop. Crazy ignorant days.
I thought poker was sooo easy, that I cashed out the 100$ that I earned and was ready to try again, little did I know that I was going to lose my last 50$ in a couple of days.
From there I decided to really put effort into learning the game properly and bumped into this great place Liquidpoker.net, I've learned a lot from this and pokerstrategy. I gotta come clean and say that I'm still a breakeven player at NL25$(but huge winner in NL5$ and NL10$), a winner in MTT's and a small winner in SNG's.
Bankroll
I have a 650$ bankroll at partypoker. I have cashed out all my tourney wins to not lose them like I lost 400$ in cash games NL200$ from a tourney I won. I'm not gonna make the same mistake. I have a "potential bankroll" at my bank account of about 1200$ from my tournament winnings, but I'm not gonna deposit that again until I'm a big winner at NL50$, and I'm ready to go to another website to take advantage of rakeback and promotions.
The Present
I think I'm getting better at this game, but my main weakness is that I still get bluffed a lot and fold better holdings. I play a little too scared sometimes, and sometimes (although much less than before) I tilt and can lose 50$ in a blink. I'm following what Nazgul said at some interview, and just playing really good hands at micro limits, just slowly grinding until I adquire more experience.
Last sunday
On a side note just recently I won a 3$ subqualifier to a 26$ qualifier to the 300K$ Sunday Partypoker tournament. Actually I won 3 of those subqualifiers, but I just won once the 26$ qualifier so I played the sunday tourney last sunday. Sadly I lost after the 2nd break and got 500th position, just got 1 AA and from there my best holding was AQ. Not my best tourney but I will try to qualify again through the same method.
The Future
I don't really see myself doing anything else than playing poker to earn money. Luckily my dad earns enough to give me comforts so that I don't have to work while I'm studying at the university, and that gives me plenty of time to poker everyday.
I'm gonna be a winning high stakes player. And from there I will be a professional poker player. I know I can do it, but I also know it will be hard.
Good luck to all, see you next week dear blog.

PS: next entry will be much more entertaining and fun. Actually I dont expect anyone to fully read this until I'm fairly known and have the monnies, then hopefully new players will read the beginnings.
YEEEEAAA :D I've just seen the results of this exam, which I wrote about in few posts. It was actually kind of competition. Everyone, who had at least 80% of points won a 'ticket' to every high school he wants to go to. And here are the results ( just first three places out of 36): http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/3350/olimpve5.jpg
^_^ I'm so happy cause I don't have to learn anymore in this school-year.
Hi ho, whats up yo? I had a little mini blog on my old "chase fedina" account and ive been putting off getting it started again. But yesterday Oxy inspired me with his "motivate me" thread and made me realize what a complacent fuck I am, and if i would only put some time into poker i would be bankin.
So here it is boys, ive decided to make my bankroll and my progress public in hopes giving me a little extra motivation. Anyways, getting down to the meat of it, ill tell my short little story of whats happened since i abandoned the old blog:
I went bust-ooooo. I dinked around with the tiniest sngs in the world for a while until i had only $3.50 in my account. Then i remembered, "oh wait poker isnt supposed to be easy, i actually have to put effort into this!" So i took a couple of days off and resolved to stay away from sngs for good and grind my way up through the 6max tables like normal people. It took me about two days to move through 2nl, and with 25$ in my account i moved up to 5nl, thats .02/.05. again, i spent about 2 or 3 days here, and then moved on to 10nl when i had 80$. Now 10nl is maybe the easiest stake in the world. I dont know how some lpers can still be stuck in micro. Anyways, i spent a little bit extra time @ 10nl because I didnt want to take on 25nl with less than 10 buy ins like i did for the lower limits. So after a bit less than a week @ 10nl my roll was up to 250$ and I dove into 25nl. I enjoyed such a sick winrate there for about a week, and was pretty much ready for 50nl. Unfortunately, i had a bunch of expenses i had to take care of, so i had to pull around 300$ out of my roll, plus 80$ for PT and Ahud. That dropped my roll down to around 600$, this was last friday by the way. Anyways, getting closer to the present, I didnt play alot this weekend, but still managed to grind out about 300$ at 25nl and 21$ HU sngs. To summarize all this, i made about 1500$ this month, and thats including all the time spent at 2 5 and 10nl. Obviously im pretty happy about that and am looking forward to getting PT so i can graph all this for u guys.
But yeah, i plan to make a post recapping every session. Now, i actually dont have PT yet.... yeah.... shut up....
but im just waiting for my paypal account to get my deposit, so i should have it by friday for sure.
I see all other people blog like "omg see my huge ptbb / hands" "omg i am on a heater !!!" "omg so much money" !!!
I think that mainly nobody is inspired to make a blog post after loosing money or on a big downswing. It is like taking a knife and hitting your own wounds :D That is certainely why "there is no loosing player in poker" kind of legacy, people dont lie, but they dont brag much about how they lost 20 BI in the blink of a (tilty) eye
Basically, what i did was : Winning a little bit, thinking omg this is less than minimun wage !!!! and going higher stakes without the BR. Tilt there, lose some, go back.
Rince and repeat like 5 times.
Afterwards, i had a méga tilt night where i lost 2/3 of my BR. Work got me angry (you shoudlnt play to forget problems, that generate BR problem, poker is not dota or trackmania where u play a game to basically "fuck up everything" ) so i started loosing in NL 25, and in a méga tilty move i started playing 50$ head up. Lost 3 of them in a row (i was playing so bad... insulting people and running mega air-tilty-bluff)
Bottom line : from like 230$ i went to 50$ in a very short hour
Anyway... The bottom line is :
- You should always play within a fixed BR strategy (ie for exemple : "i ll play 50 of 5$ head up and we'll see" and not "lets play and see what happens")
- You should not play because u have personnal issues that makes u angry, forgetting how life is shit is better in playing DOTA, better be called a noob than loosing half BR
Anyway, as i always felt asleep when playing 10 or 6 handed, i decided to play head up : i think these game are those where u play the most with your brain, while many other game format are "auto play" that makes u feel like u are working at some chain production... And i have felt again the love for poker that i had forgotten for some time.
I am still a newbie donkey, but i think i am starting to have a good edge in this game, i will try to summurise it :
- Lots of donks only limps with button (or make stupid play like sometimes all in for winning a little blind) while i raise a lot (like 70% of the hands) from the button
Bottom line is, since these donks almost all over-call out of position (lets say easilly 80% of the time), it is like i am playing a head up but with 3 times the blinds when in position... Quite an edge if i am not sucking.
Another thing i noticed, is that you should be very very careful when u wanna make a play out of position... The pot can get very big very fast, and u better have to pick very good hands and spot to make a move. After all, it is not there u are supposed to make the profit, but on the button... I think i have learned this now, dont try to make too many plays out of position just because that guy is betting each flop and such..
And my main mistake, is still, tilty play. Can easilly happen after a bad call or a suckout, i can turn into a psychotic maniac... I got to stop on that, but i think i am improving.
I dont know if a ROI of 10 is ok or not for head up, but i am quite happy with it. Ok i am not even making half the minimun wage, but the whole point is gaining experience...
If there are some experienced head up players out there i will be very happy if they can give me tips (ok i didnt showed any hands or anything, but some head up HH of very good head up players would be interessting or links to very good head up discussion
I wanna keep grinding the 5$ and 10$ Sng till 400$ where i will take a shot at those 20$ sng.
I'm in a nasty downswing in both 6-max and FR 10NL. Basically I'm looking for some advice on how to get my confidence back. Also, if I want to watch movies on dual monitors while I nutpeddle, FR is better than 6-max correct?
