Homegame (200NL) Tonight @ My Friends by Svenman87, June 11

Leaving soon for a 100NL or 200NL no max buyin homegame over a friends. I'm planning on bringing about 500 bucks probably buyin for 300-500 depending on what other people buyin for.

People that are coming for sure are decent, I still feel like I have a pretty big edge over all of them. It's weird I feel a bit nervous, haven't played in a homegame with friends in a long time. (they stopped inviting me in high school T_T I cant help it they were shipping me there moneyz) I don't know what to really expect or what gameplan I should try to put into place.

I think I might just go with the extremely tight image for the first hour or two then loosen up and take some pots after showing the nuts a few times. I feel like if I loosen up and go with a LAG style people will play exactly the same, because thats what the majority of them are. LAG donks that call raises with s00ted cards etc.

I hope there is a lot of money in play. I really wouldn't mind some extra cash right now. (I'm going to be buying a new computer soon)

Anyways any tips are great (I've only played tourneys and limit live). I'm leaving in about an hour to go play. so gogogogo ^_^

switchin to turbos by JYang, June 11

after playin 9 months of cash games during university and hoarding up 20k$ on 50NL. i made a full transitition back to turbo sngs.

the reason is being that sometimes cash is so gay and sometimes everything dont go ur way and ur left confused about ur play. i think im a winning player as i have a lifetime 7.5PTBB/100 on 50nl and probably the biggest sample size for that level (300k hands maybe?). i just find it so hard to move up because the swings increase by so much and sometimes variance just kills u. but 50nl is ultralow variance and when im bored i just 12 table it while watchin tv or some shit. yes its possible and i've even asked ftp to increase my table limits but they said no to me. =/

meanwhile. sngs is all about pushbotting and jerking off to sngpt. im goin to play it with normal bankroll standards and quit practicing nazi bankroll management. my goal is to be like our great khan. i have no clue what bankroll management for turbos are so im just goin to assume 50BI and move down when im at 50BI for previous level. im playin on my old stars roll now. most of my roll is hoarded with a decent interest rate at my savings acct. =]

in conclusion, yea variance is gay and so is nazi bankroll management

Bad times by locoo, June 11

This last week ive gained nothing nor lost anything, im exactly as I was 1week+ ago(thx to rakeback, cuz if not I would be down 500$).

NL25 all over again

3.8K

It seems impossible to win NL100 at the moment in the same fashion as I couldnt win NL25, was playing NL50 beating it for 13bb/100 but when I reach 4K I go up to nl100 and I lose couple buyins very fast. Get reraised PF out of my hands and its just basically mayhem all the time!:

I dont know if I shouldve folded on flop, I just dled pokerstove to see my equity.

Edit : Dont know why it posts the same hand twice, Ill just link you to this one http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210238

I guess I couldve bet more on the turn, other than that I guess I just got outdrawn on the river for the 500th time, the guy actually thought a lot before calling the river, how bm! >.<

So I just expect for things to go better this week... have to reach 5K until sunday so I guess I will stay playing NL50 since I do so good there, though its frustating to play a level in which u are so well overolled for.

Time to hit the tables again,

Have fun all

simply no alternative :P by PplusAD, June 11

I intended to quit online Poker 10 days ago.
And i didnt touch any money games for this period of time.

I played 3 Pokerstars freerolls and got TOP 300 out of 3500 players in each of the 3 freerolls.
I made a total + 40 cent ^^

Thing is there is no work availible being as relaxed and fun as Poker while giving euqal amount of money.
There are of course sidejobs that give you a lot more safe money than playing micro stakes Poker ... but its hella physical and mental pain over 8h a day
->
compare this to sitting in your comfortable chair and playing some poker drinking some coke while listening to mp3s.

so you all were right about the "cant quit Poker" thingy

I just played some Pokerstars today.
400 hands NL5 and 5 micro SNG ( 1.50+25 18player SNG)
I am up + 10.20$
played 1h 30 minutes.

I dindt get any major bad beats and i got normal/+- 0 luck.

So now i have a few plans.

- More conservative BR management = move up when 40 buy ins for SNG and move down when below
have 20 Buy ins for cashgame and move down when below.

- Take a 3day break if i run bad for more than 4 days in a row.

- Improve my theoretical knowledge about Poker

- sale my 17" to my sister and get a new 22" to be able to play more hands/sngs in 2 h a day

Picking Up Again by exalted, June 11

I moved back down to NL100, and have been making slow steady wins - now my BR is 3.5k and I'll start fighting again at NL200 when my rakeback for last month kicks in. I'm still expectantly waiting for the public release of PokerEV, so I can see how much of that downswing was bad luck / bad play..

I want to make a video, probably 4tabling with commentary to hopefully get criticism from the ballers here and also to help the lower stakes players. Comment if you have interest in this!

That's it for now - you all can check my photo album, which has pictures of me in Taiwan:

Short day... by RAHZero, June 11

Barely played yesterday, had a lot going on. Was finally a somewhat boring day poker-wise, still made a little over $250 in slightly more than an hour though:

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/591/june10fv3.jpg

Played a bit different game than usual, my stats were 24/17, though I was playing short-handed and even heads-up for quite a bit.

Not too much of note on the day, all pretty standard for the most part. For the month, I'm up a little over $8k at the tables, plus another $1k+ in bonuses and rakeback. All in all, it's been a great month so far, and it might get even better if I continue to run well at NL $400.

Gettin' comfy 25.25 by KingKory, June 11

June 7th - June 11th, 2007

EDIT: That should be (25.25)

Today's summary:

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb061107.jpg

Commentary:

Lost 2 BI's on Sunday, then came up a bit this morning. Thursday/Friday were extremely uneventful sessions.

Had a few tough decisions Sunday, but I feel I could have saved myself a BI with just a bit more self-control. I had a pretty funny K5o hand this morning

Back to 6-tabling fulltime, and I'm feeling very good about my game lately. I'm not stressing any of the decisions I make, and I'm feeling confident that I'm usually one of the more thinking players at the table. My stats have drastically gone down over the past 3-4k hands though. After running ~4k hands at ~23/18, it appears as though I'm reverting back to my n(it)atural ways.

Anyhow:

Top winners:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210103 Quads gettin' paaaaid.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210104 2EZ!!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210105 Implied odds?

Top losers

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210100 Set-up vs this guy I think. 23/19/6 with a bit of history.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210101 I could have easily gotten away here. waste of 1/2 BI.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210102 I was somewhat lost this hand. Comments?

Hands of Note:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/210107 Couple of questionable laydowns. Comments?

JUNE ISNT WONDERFUL ANYMORE by nolan, June 11

Hey all,

My computer which is straight outta 2002 finally bit the dust I think. I'm not sure if it is a virus I contracted or what but it will not boot anymore and that's that. Sucks because I didn't really back up any of my PT db's onto removable storage but whatever...

Anyone who mighta got any files from me recently even mp3's or whatever might want to run a few scans on their CPU just to be safe, although I'm pretty sure the thing is just fried and old . It's really bizarre timing because I got a bunch of parts set to arrive in a few days and I'm building a new computer . Got my monitors from PS a few days ago so I'm gonna be all set and good to go.

Damn computers are frustrating. So anyways, If you don't hear from me for awhile, this is why.

Take it easy. In the meantime I'm going to be practicing BW at the computer lab at my University in the time I would normally be playing poker so prepare to get gosu'd Nada style with your speedlings chumps.

P.S. If you live near the beach you should go today, some people never see the Ocean man, think about it.

update by SakiSaki, June 11

After partypoker started being gay about affiliates I got really worried so I decided to cash out a big chunk of my roll cause it would suck ass to have my account locked or something and not being able to play poker at all.

I left about 20k on party and I have since then decided to just grind 2/4 on party with the money I have. I will probably throw In another 20k on some other site for better game selection and use the rest for a live roll for Vegas.

I have such a big edge on 2/4 and Im pretty sure I can beat it for 5+ptbb/100 while 8-tabling. Doing this I will probably make close to as much as I did 4-6 tabling 5/10 and the swings will not be near as big. + I can put in longer sessions since I dont have the same need to be 100% focused as I did on 5/10.

Vegas Is coming up pretty soon and im fucking psyched about it! Im staying from the 21st of june till july 3rd. Meeting all legendary lpers is going to be pure awesomeness!

Now off to destroy cosmo and sixpeppers in bw

suck it!

Downswing. Uber bad. by mrwongie, June 11

Playing so bad the last two days like, how chobopoker_r played his 83? allin pf. I have change back to my monkey tilt style, hence i had a -6BI at NL50 and -10BI at NL25. Luckily i are overroll and the setback hasnt put that much of a dent in my BR. I just can't believe i am bluffing donkeys. After a couple of bluffs that didn't work, i tell myslef to stop bluffing these fucking idiots who calls down my 3barrel with TPWK but since i am on uber tilt it doesn't work so i lose a couple more BI and instant close PS. Plus i have been getting suckedout pretty bad and losing races.

BR 2500 down to 1900 . fawwwwwwwwwwwk i hate this game now. Poker was so easy for the last month where i went 10+bb/100 hands and i didn't ever lose more than 4BI in a day and not for consective day.

Mabye i am going to get a lp coach to see how they play compare to my style.

I NEEEEEEED SOME LUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK

Square one. by mumzy, June 11

I've been messing around at low stakes off and on and I have pretty much broken even. After talking to Tae-g over a few hours of friendly HU tonight (we broke even), I decided I'm gonna start putting in the necessary time to bring in some real money. I'm gonna grind out 3+ hours tomorrow at the tables and we'll see what happens.

Biggest pot and variance by SneakrFreakr, June 10

So I finally started playing a big. Had some small sessions, a bit in the green, a bit in the red so generally breakeven. Yesterday I got back home and it was like midnight and even though I was a bit tired, I felt like playing. The session started off pretty bad (beats and coolers) and I dropped like 4 buyins in 400 hands. I'm trying not to be a whinny bitch so I'm not gonna post them. At that point I was tired as fuck and my eyes were closing themselves but tables were soooo juicy that it would be the most stupid thing in my life to finish right there. Plus I really wanted to get back into the green. Wasn't easy but finally I managed to. Here's my graph for yesterday evening session:

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/1472/vbpw0.jpg

I also won my biggest pot ever yesterday which felt pretty good. I was soooo afraid that he'd show up with aces.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/209830

And some random calldown. It's HU cause the table just brok a few mins ago.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/209832

I just woke up like 20 mins ago and I feel like crap. I'm allergic to all kinds of trees, grass and this is the worst time during the year for me. I'm sneezing all the time, I've got a bad cough, runny nose, itching eyes. And now a shitty headache. I hate this shit. I take like 18331638 different medicines but the don't seem to be helping. Plus I somehow woke up after like 3.5hrs of sleep - at 8am, cause I thought it was already fuckin midday or sth. Meh, I hate Modays. Even though I've got nothing to do.

Ok time to take a shower, eat a breakfast and maybe play some poker. I need to put some more hands since I almost haven't played at all in the last 2-3 weeks.

In the evening I'll probably go to play live a bit. I don't really play to win money there, even though the stakes aren't meaningless for me. I really enjoy playing like a retarted lagtard and live is the good place to do it. Raising and playing pots in dark is sooo fun. I gamble on every occassion but at least it's not as boring as grinding with 15 hands per hour on a damn fullring.

On Tuesday, in the evening I'm going to Krakow with my friends. We've got a friend over there and we're going to hang out and go out a bit. We're staying there for 2 nights I think. Then, I'm probably going to visit my grandparents, cause they live pretty close to Krakow and I haven't seen them for quite a while. I expect to come back around Tuesday next week. Not much poker again ;/ But maybe I'll finally manage to watch some CR vids that I have missed and read the rest of Sklansky's NLHTAP.

That's it for now. Holla

Sunday Million Hopes and Dreams... Dashed by JonnyCosMo, June 10

I fucking hate the Sunday Million... why do I put myself through that torture every single weekend. So freaking retarded. I struggle for the majority of the tournament on a short stack, then 2 hours into the tournament I finally double up w/ Aces then take down another two pots to put me above average. On the bubble, I pulled an aggressive 3 bet with 43 and flopped a pair and a straight draw and got it in vs QQ. Spiked the straight on the turn, so ship the big stack over to me. Held a huge stack all the way down til there was 210 left, then this disaster happens to me:

Fucking cooler! Cashed for $1100 though so that's not too bad. Just such a tease when you play for 6 hours and get that far only to be knocked out by some retard fish who has no clue what he's doing and luck sacks his way to even bigger moneys. I hate poker. Daut helped me through the pain thou:

CosMo (9:09:06 PM): suicide
CosMo (9:09:13 PM): 210th today
Daut44 (9:11:17 PM): this will make you feel better
CosMo (9:09:19 PM): i want to break something

CosMo (9:09:50 PM): ROFL

GG TwistedEcho. On another note, RaiNKhaN just called me up and informed me he's made his first WSOP cash in the $1,500 event for $15k. He also swapped 5% of ElkY who's still in that same event with 30 left. Go ElkY~!! Atleast someone runs good in fucking tournaments. :-P

Ever have one of those days? by curtinsea, June 10

Playing sit n go donkey tournaments as I usually do has yet to make me rich. Go figure. Usually you find me playing $6.50 turbo two-tables. I played in $16 2-tables when my bankroll was bigger, but donking out in ten or fifteen minutes @ $16 a pop cuts into the roll pretty heavily. But today was different. I haven't played a $16 in a while, so today I thought I would give it a shot. Glad I did, because I won it! And to keep me occupied until the sunday weekly, I played another. That one I came in 2nd! I felt like I was on some kind of roll, but the next one found me out in 10th place. Not to be deterred, I got back on the horse again, and once again I rode it to the end and won! How long could this ride last? The next tourney I donked out of in 11th, and started thinking it was time to call it a day, but I still had the jones to play, so one more time I plunked down my $16 and got in the fight, and won for the third time today! Six tourneys at 16 (-96), three firsts and a second (+405) for a net of $309, which represents my best single day of online poker. HEE HAW

My run in the Sunday weekly was cut short by suckout after suckout. I think it's rigged. I would like to thank Blunt smokr and Chobo for donating their stacks to my cause.

Today was probably my best single day playing online poker
