| | Let's jump ! by Gawuss, June 19
This post is dedicated to ggplz, he asked me to do it
Lol I wish that title was about my poker run in the moment. I moved up to 400nl and I run pretty cold, I get badbeated, there's a lot of coolers and my bad play is involved too obv.
I downloaded muddywater's 2-4nl videos and watched few of them. In my opinion he explains everything very well and I just have to stick to his tips to start winning more at 400nl. I think I need a little bit of a skill to be good at these stakes.
Here's the graph of my today's session:
http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/7898/sessionnc7.jpg
I wasn't tilting at all, I got badbeated few times and played some hands badly. Nah, ok, it happens - I keep on saying it to myself and I hope I'll own these stakes soon!
And now about jumping. About a year ago or so my brother found a nice game. It's called Icy Tower. A while ago my friend reminded me about it and I downloaded it. God I love it so much :D So far I jumped on the 319th floor. Let see if you can do better than me. You can dl it here
Ok now I'm gonna play few more times before going to bed See ya and good luck =]

| | Trying to losen up by anon, June 19
Currently i am running decently, in contrast with past mothes where i had the shittest run of my entire poker career, i am running 200% times better. But i am a small winner, winning only like 1.5/2.5bb/100, i want to increase my winning rate so i need to losen up, i am curretly running on 16/12, which is too nitty, so i want to run smth like 19/13, 20/14. Today i tried one session to play loser, it's quite hard actually when you are 8 tabling, since it's hard to know where's the right spot to 4bet, con bet etc, since you can't observe you oponents that well. ie: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/214959
This hand vs Midian i thought i made a good move, i was tight in his eyes, he was lose, we were like 125bb deep, so i figured i would make him fold, but oops. Overally, today i didn't run too good, at first i could hit a shit, and i was pritty cold decked all the way.
Results of today:

http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/7623/asdd2up3.jpg
So far everything seems to be fine, hoping my losen up will be successful and i will be able to move to 400nl at the end of the month.
Also i will probobly leave ps after i will safe enough fpp for tv, i have around 45K, 30k to go =]

| | TAGTARD <font color=green>(30.60)</font&g by KingKory, June 19
June 16th-19th, 2007
Today's summary:
http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb061907.jpg
http://coryland.net/uploads/bugeyes.gif
Commentary:
It's official: 9-tabling has turned me into a full on TAG monkey. I've stopped raising 23s/Q9s/A9o UTG, and I think I fired one 2nd-air-bullet in two sessions. Playing like this is much more relaxing though, and I'm not sure I could physically do 24/20 9-tabling -- how do you degens do it? I ran 5k hands or so at 24/20, and it was very taxing -- even with 6 tables.
However, I've made it a point to punish villains who are taking advantage PF. It's a part of my game that I'm not going to give up.
Anyhow, I'm playing well, not making mistakes, and not taking anyone's moves on me personally. I've played the most hands this month since the beginning of the year, and I believe it's paying off.
On to the hands:
Top winners:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/214978 I hated the turn, but then I hated the river even more.

| | Venture @ 30/60 Limit by Svenman87, June 19
Started off at the 15/30 game.
Was a REALLY juicey game, so juicey I couldn't make a dime. So many stations it was so sick if your hand held up by the river (lol min bet pokah)
Anyways after -300 @ the 15/30 game I took a break and went home for a break. Then proceeded with the great idea of... 15/30 has too much variance atm so... I'll play 30/60
-_______________-
I get there and it takes about 30 minutes before a seat opens up
First hour is +/- 300
Then things start to pick up, I take a few nice pots down and start building a nice profit.
Notable hand
------------
I'm in the BB with Jd6d . UTG+2 (really agro) raises.
Folded to me, I make the call.
Flop A 5 8.
He bets I call with the intention of check/raising the turn
Turn Q
I check/raise and he mucks KK face up
I flip my hand over and watch the tilt unfold.
He becomes super agro and the worst part was, he was taking down nice pots -_-;
I try to avoid him for the most part and don't really get into anything with him the rest of the night. I continue to chip up for the rest of the night, no real big wins/losses. Pretty steady profit for a few hours. was beating the game at about 5 big bets per hour, which is really fucking good at any limit.
SKoT comes over after work to rail me for a bit. By this time its about midnight and I'm so fucking tired I go to the bathroom and buy a no-doz package. (2 capsules)
I proceed to take both of them and down them with Mountain Dew.
About the same time I decide to end my session +1700
Cash out and decide to play some 6/12 with SKoT
No-Doz starts hitting me and I cant sit still. The first 30 minutes @ the 6/12 game is me standing behind my chair pacing back and forth feeling physically sick to my stomach (bad beat taking BOTH capsules... As soon as I took them I read the package "take 1 every 4-6 horus" OH GAWDDDDDDDDDDD)
End up losing about 40.00 before calling it a night @ 2:00am
SKoT and I then proceed to follow up with the traditional Perkins meal.
After horrible service and laughing our asses off at random shit in the store we leave at about 3:00am
Anyways now Im still kinda awake and I dont want to fucking work in a few hours... Because I know I'll end up just drinking a shit load of coffee or taking another no-doz (just one this time thx)
peace

| | Sometimes I hate poker... by RAHZero, June 18
So yeah, I really shouldn't be complaining, given that I just finished another $1k+ day, but sometimes poker can really piss you off. My graph for today:
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/5720/june18xo1.jpg
PT missed a bunch of hands, including one big stackage, so my actual total was a little over +$1300. Pretty much all of this was at NL $400, except for like 30 hands at NL $200 with +$50 or so in profit. So frustrating that I was having my best day ever, and over +$3k, and then finished up with less than half that amount. I suffered my biggest pot ever lost here:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/214777
Obviously just a huge cooler. Guy was 55/30/6 and mad aggro. Once he raised the flop I figured he's calling a push with any ace and I'm not getting much more value out of everything else, so it's a clear shove. I'm not even thinking about being behind on this flop.
I also lost a huge pot on this complete BS hand:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/214778
I could reraise PF, but this guy is a complete monkey, 55/25/5, as you can see by the way the hand plays out. Of course he hits his 5 outer on the river.
I also got 2 outered twice by PPs that turned sets against me when I had either an overpair or top pair, lost with flopped top set to a runner runner straight against the guy from the AQ hand, and got 3 outered on the river when I had a huge LAGtard outkicked and he rivered his kicker. All in all, I have to be happy with the way the day turned out, given the number of beats I took, since I feel like I played really really well. I tilted slightly during the sick downswing, but managed to catch myself before it became anything significant. Other than that, I felt like I played awesome poker, so the results are diaappointing, but I guess you just gotta learn to play and not worry about the results, since they'll take care of themselves if you're playing well. I've had a good month by all accounts, and certainly had my share of luck. Anyways, I'm now up $15k for the month according to PT, but it's probably closer to $16k with all the hands missed. Also another $2k or so in RB and bonuses, so I'm still doing alright.

| | Im back :) by AleKSei, June 18
Well after a long absence(almost 2 weeks) im back, the reasons because i left are that i lost a lot playing NL25 and i was tilting A DAMN LOT So i decided ask my friend baal to ban me for a week, obv. i was running so bad in life also that lots of my friends who owed me money didnt payed me in time to get my internet payments done, so i spent another week away from LP, i missed the Negreanu to Team Pokerstars thread .
Well my plan after a lot of thinking is to, first rebuild my roll and my confidence back, obv this isnt easy, i have been working hard doing the analisis of my plays and generally my game.
My biggest problem is that i tilt a lot, this isnt good, because running bad+tilting isnt a healthy way to get back in action, so im focusing a lot in not tilting, i must say this isnt easy, but im working OK.
Other problems are:
1.- I tend to make fancy plays, which arent at all needed at the stakes i play, so im trying to remove them completly from my game, at least for now.
2.- I tend to not give the importance to position as i should do, same VPIP almost in all positions(THIS IS REALLY BAD ALSO)
3.- IM A STATION, i just dont give credit to people enough. im folding a lot more, from 35~ Went to showdown im down to 29, still stationy but it is a lot better.
4.- I was playing really laggish when it is not needed, again not for now, i was at 29/25, i lowered that a lot, im multitabling a lot more now, my usual tables where 4~6, now im playing 12 always(NL2 again).
5.- I think im not agressive enough, after some lessons with myth he told me it was OK, my numbers are like 1.5, flop 3, turn .75 River 1.2 So im a little passive, even though i remember seeing some PoorUser stats and he was like 1.8~2 and from TalentedTom also he has quite low AF, still i dont see it that big of a deal but, i will try to work on that.
My plan:
Start all over again, play ultranitty style in the NL2 and NL5 games, probably up to NL10, like im doing right now, im still safelly rolled to NL25 but i dont want to play there right now, im still afraid(you all will laugh, but still the same to me).
-Play at least 10k hands at NL2*
-Build a roll to 150 at least before moving up to NL5.
-Play at least 10k hands at NL5
-Build roll at least to 300 before moving to NL10.
-Play at least 10k hands at NL10.
-Build a roll to 700 before moving to NL25.
*im very short to fullfull this goal.
Here are some results from the last couple of days.

| | small sample size + bad luck = bad graph :) by PplusAD, June 18
Okay today i was running as bad as i run at everest Poker when i busted my 170$ roll. I run this bad for the first time at Pokerstars.
I only played 14 SNG ( not more time due to university stuff)
and i busted the first 9 sngs in a row without cashing always being #3-#5 in chips when the final table started.
I have not been running good ( ive been running rahter bad) the last 3 days either , but i still won money .
This time however it was impossible.
there are different types of bad luck
-> Not getting big preflop cards + not hitting flops with medium cards ( only matters for short sample sizes )
You just dont get big preflop cards and you dont hit with your medium cards like J9 9T K10s 87s then you reach the critical lower than 8 BB thing loosing your fold equity but having to push with shit like K8o cause youd blind out the next rounds anyway.
-> setups = you hit a monster good hand someone still has hit an even better hand ...
but your hand is just too good to not think you are the winner here the big majority of the time.
you are doomed to go broke with that hand.
-> bad beats
You push allin when you are ahead 70% + but get lucked away
by a stupid opponent who was way behind when he called.
If all 3 of this bad luck types come together frequently in 1 single session you could play perfect poker but you will still lose money.
Not that i played perfect. (I am far too newb to play perfect poker)
I played calm and decently and as always had a big edge over my 1.75$ opponents.
but over this small smaple size of 14 SNGs there was simply not to win money with the bad luck conditions.
after the first 10 SNG i was down - 17.50 $
my pockets(22-99) always lost to 6 and 3 outers
my dominating hands lost to wired stuff like backdorflushes and rivered straights
my AKs and AQs never hit anything vs the pockets of my villians
my dominating hands got lucked away .
in the last 4 SNG i still ran bad but not as bad as before.
I got it heads up in my 11th SNG for today to lose
AT vs T9 when he hit a pair of nines while we where about equal ammount of chips.
after that beat i blinded all in with K5 vs his Q4 and of course he hit a queen while i hit nothing
12th and 13th SNG i busted due to not getting cards and then running into monsters when i pushed all in 77 vs 88 QQ AA
and A9s vs QQ
14th SNG was funny though.
There was a guy having 100 VPIP !!
he called every hand preflop no matter the bet size and his own cards. What a maniac.
this was so absurd
when he had about 2500 chips 100/200 blinds 2 people push all in with 2k stacks and he calls with 82o ..
ROFL
but his 82o > AK + AQs cause he hit a 2 and others hit nothing.
believe it or not ... but the guy got heads up with me.
Funniest thing i experienced in a while.
He had incredible luck to overcame a field of 17 players
calling every preflop bet no matter the size and his cards.
This time i won the HU game i had about 15K and he 12K ^^
1st Hand i had AJ and he called with K3o
So all in all i reduced my losses for today to about 3 buy ins.
here is the graph
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/2513/graphtf3.jpg
ON a side not i sharkscoped some of this maniacs and got a pretty decent smile over my face.
Most of them are down 200$ in 150 SNGS micro stakes

| | Day 1 in Vegas w/ LP by JonnyCosMo, June 18
So I arrived in Vegas and met up with my roommate Pavel (pmilanov on Stars and FTP) and we went over to check in to our mini-baller room at the Wynn. Let me take the time to say, the Wynn is easily the nicest hotel in Vegas. Hands down. And they give poker players a sick good room rate for only playing 6 hrs a day at the poker room. EZ Yo!
So after taking a shower I immediately headed down to the Wynn Poker Room and started playing some $2-$5. Wow the players that play in casinos are terrible. I have KQ in middle position folded to me, I raise. I get 2 callers. Flop comes K-T-7 rainbow. Donk out of the blinds check, I bet $75 into a $100ish pot. Guy behind me folds, and this donk calls. Turn comes a 7. He checks I check. River comes a 3. He checks, I bet out $125. He's like "I can't put you on a King" and calls. Ship it. Then he starts telling the guy next to him how if I played the hand correctly and bet the turn he could have laid down his AT. I said sorry to him and told him I play bad. Make sure the donk knows that he's correct about his idea of the game. Came out of my first session +$500 which was sweet.
Lyric randomly ran into me in the Wynn poker room and there he introduced me to none other than Lex (RaSZi) and Dan (Rekrul) playing some $10/20. They are both real cool guys. So after, Lyric, Mango, Pavel and I went to dinner at Border's Grill at Mandalay Bay. Definitly some good mexican food. Daut met up with us after he went busto from the $3k WSOP event, and later on in the night Myth, and Ket both came to dinner. Obviously Ket is the man.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day1WSOP01.JPG
The Man, The Myth, The Legend... Ket
Mig.com came right when we were leaving and for the first time I got to see his brand new WSOP Bracelet. Totally baller yo. The plan was to head over to the Wynn and figure out our plan from there. Back at the Wynn poker room we all went up to talk to Rekrul again while he was still playing. Rek was playing with some sick big stack of bills and massive mountain of chips since all of Wynn's poker games are uncapped. While we were talking we see a guy at Rekrul's table stand up and start swearing "You stupid mother fucker, fucking shit I can't believe that. This fucking kid is so bad". Apparently Rekrul check/raised this guy all-in on a T-6-3 rainbow board w/ K7. The guy snap called with KK. Turn 4, river 5. Obviously this guy didn't know... Rekrul can see the turn and the river. So the guy just storms off and leaves and we all start busting up laughing over it.

[vital]myth, Ket, pmilanov, and mig.com

mig.com, Lyric, Mango, Daut, and RaSZi (cut-off)
We meet up with RaSZi and finally figured out that we were going to drive over to Ryan's total $4million baller pad on the south side of the strip. So we get there and wow....
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day1WSOP04.JPG
The group gathers to leave
So words cannot describe how baller this pad is... When we got in, we saw Martine23, Reddog, tbc, and Genius28 all on this huge stretch couch playing on their laptops. We went down to the game room and were met with a poker table and a pool table with some baller ass chairs to boot.

Wannabe pool hustlers
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day1WSOP06.JPG
Wannabe poker hustlers
So we whipped out the drinks and played some crazy ass $1-$2 mixed game format with a 50 cent ante and it just got totally degen yo. Daut on the other hand decided to get his champion sleep for the $2500 6 handed event coming up.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day1WSOP07.JPG
We end up heading home around 4:00am and I just pass out. Btw for those that dont believe me that Wynn is the sickest place ever, just check out the view from my room:

| | Online poker was fun by NeillyJQ, June 18
I'm moving to Salamanca, NY to play in the casino full time and work for my father, if your ever around the area just post a msg on my blog!
I'll still be playin some donkaments here and there online.
I prefer live cash a lot more than online, for reading players and to play each and every hand to the best of my ability, instead of focusing on so many hands.
Have fun everyone,
and best of luck

| | Same ol' story... by RAHZero, June 18
Another great day yesterday. Started out playing some donkaments, played in the UB $200k guaranteed, a $55 deep-stack tourney on Stars, a couple satellites on Stars, and the Stars $215 Sunday second chance. Saw pretty much not a single hand in any of the tournaments, except for AK in one where I lost a flip AIPF on like the third hand against QQ. Anyway, I also played some NL $50 on Stars while I was playing the donkaments, and pretty much just crushed. I splashed around in a lot of pots, called a lot of raises PF even OOP, but players there are just terrible post-flop. After that, I took a nice break, then played a night session for real at UB. Played pretty much all NL $400, except for the few hands of NL $200 shown below. As you can see, I ran and played pretty well:
http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/922/june17xn3.jpg
Started off pretty big in the hole at NL $400, but managed to get work my way back up thanks to 3 $1k pots. Think PT overstated my winnings though, according to my numbers I was up like $2060, so it wasn't my best day ever, but it was close, and my third +$2k day.

Strong mind needed
So major downsings in the poker world for me. Basically those hands up there has been my everyday bread for the past 3 weeks (they hurted a lot more at NL100 and NL50 though).
You may wonder why I play NL25 now, no I havent lost my mind and lost most of my BR luckily. My account at ipoker was closed for helping a friend transfering some money (dumb me). So I was really bored without poker for couple days and then decided to deposit 400$ to Party just for fun. Maybe that would change my luck.
Yeah right.
Anyway, given that its NL25 AND Party, im up 30$ so 430$ that should cover the cashout expenses so im virtually at 0$ gain. I did play just 2 days and very few hands though so I guess its ok.
Anyone has the answer?
How long can a really bad run last? I know I just have to be patient and an AMAZINGLY GOOD RUN its just around the corner, oh well ill just wait and wait , keep up the spirit!!.
Good luck to all
David.

+400 @ the 6/12 Game
Was an intense day starting saturday @ 11am going until basically 11am sunday.
I wish I could post the chip stack I had, but for some reason my cell wont send it to my email >_<
Interesting Shit @ The 15/30 Game
---------------------------------
So many 2+2 nits are swarming these 15/30 + 30/60 games its sick... All I did for a while was 3-bet Mr. Agro @ the table all day long and make his life hell.
Who wants to get involved in a pot who puts the Table Renegade on tilt...
Notable hands
Old guy makes it 2-bets UTG
(he was new to the main game, I've never seen him before)
I look down at 3h7h and insta 3-bet on the button. He makes it 4, I kick myself and call.
Ah Qh 5h
DING DING DING
He bets into me. I raise he calls.
Turn Brick
River Brick
He calls and I show my '3-bet' potential. The whole table is quiet and you can tell that tilted the shit out of this guy. :-[ oops
I felt like I was also making pretty sick reads.
I raised in the CO. Button 3-bets, blinds fold.
I call
Flop 10 J 3 rainbow
I check/call
Turn 10
I check/call
River K
I check and end up calling. Showing him the 2's and remember him repeating about 10x 'so sick' as he mucks his hand.
My reasoning for calling was it was his first hand in the table and I've played with him a few times before. He has a bully image and likes to be seen as someone to 'fear' at the table.
The only guy I do really fear and avoid at all costs is a guy named "Mitch" I believe.
He's sick... meta-games the entire fucking table and really knows how to value his hands. When I see him playing I usually just end up playing 6/12 instead. I really can't play my style vs. him at all. I cant find a weakness to exploit in his game and it frustrates me when I cant do that to someone.
One day Mitch...
One day...
