1 step forward, 2 steps back (-$138.15) by KingKory, July 06

July 3rd - 6th, 2007

Today's summary:

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb070607_071861.jpg

Commentary:

Up a bit Tuesday, had Wednesday off of work, so I slept through my session, hungover Thursday from our 4th of July BBQ, finally got to play again this morning, and went down almost 4 BI's to some pretty nasty hands.

I've dipped below 20BI's for 50NL, but I'm going to give it one more shot tomorrow morning. If I have another losing session it's back to 25NL I go!

We got to the local park at 10 AM or so, and squatted a couple benches, and a BBQ pit. Pretty much drank consistently 'til 11 PM or so.

BONES NIGGA

Unfortunately none of my friends are as big of degens as myself, so we were playing for...fun?

This morning was fucking ugly. Had 3 horrid hands, and 1 TILT-MONKEY hand.

Top winners:

10k BR yo! by SneakrFreakr, July 06

Just realized that my bankroll passed the 10k mark. I guess it's sort of a milestone. Next one - 100k.

Tonight I'm going to a re-opening of my favorite club so it's gonna be soooo awesome. This is me most likely by the end of the night:

Final Fantasy by JonnyCosMo, July 06

Plain and simple... Squaresoft makes the best games ever. If you haven't played any of the final fantasy games, you are totally missing out. I pretty much spent all night playing Final Fantasy X and the ending just knocked me off my feet.

July so far.. by Siro, July 06

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5451/julycd4.jpg

Ok finally getting back on track.. haven't put in nearly the amount of hands I'd like but that's because I've been in/out of hospitals all week because I broke my finger playing football (aus version you pansys).

Going along at 4+BB/100, are PT BB's actually 2x what the table BB's are? I'll easily get my goal if that's true.

Some ridiculusly bad play by villains but sucked out;

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/225037 - AA allin flop, vs pairs of sixes.. hits six ofc.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/225038 - flop set, allin flop.. he shows 1 pair + Q kicker, turn Q, river Q.. GG.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/225039 - Blind steal turns into straight, outdrawn on river by fullhouse he holds.. J7!?

Ah so tomorrow morning I'm getting the operation done on this finger, gogo anesthetic!

downswing's over by all_in_4tw, July 05

june was pretty terrible

suffered a 3K downswing during last month. I was able to finish at about -500$,so thx to the rakeback i ended in the green

couldnt acheive my 40K hands goal, played about 36-37K so thats not too bad

after those bad results i decided to buy a 6-months cardrunners membership. let me say that its worth every penny of the 250$, the cashgames videos of sbrugby, green_plastic and Stinger88 are absolutely SICK! this is a must for every player at nl100 or higher imo and you can pay via a money transfer with your poker account.

i also decided to drop down to 4 tables and take more notes on players. UB is fast so i still get a descent amount of hands/hour.

those changes ended my downswing right away. im playing better and also running better(finally)

HU is really sick.. by SneakrFreakr, July 05

..but still, I love it. The swings are crazy but the game is soooo fun. Even when you get pwned like a bitch and drop 5 buyins in such a short time. Here's the graph for my today evening session (2tabling nl100 HU):

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/498/huco4.jpg

I started out by getting outdrawn and coolered like crazy but then I used my image and reads to pwn dem hoez and take my monies back. Oh and rake is the bitch.

Besides that I haven't played almost any poker in July Only 2 short session on nl200 6max. In first one I lost like $500 and in the second one I won $600.

This weekend is going to be a blast but then, from Monday on, I'm going to focus a bit more on poker. Or at least I hope so.

Oh and I'm on a diet again. I haven't eaten any fast foods since yesterday. So I'll probably end up dreaming about this for the whole night:

Cant win Cashgame even not NL 5 T_T by PplusAD, July 05

okay since i got kinda bored with 1.75$ SNG
I tried some Cashgame today.

But it seems that i am simply too stupid T_T
i was down 3 buy ins after 87 hands ...

-Lost 2 pair to higher 2 pair that he catched on the river
-Lost 2pair vs his OESD when i called his all in on the flop.
-Lost AA vs JJ when he hit a J on the flop after he called my 3bet.

So i was down ~ 15 $ in almost no time.

I worked my way up with some solid Poker in the next 200 Hands and managed to get kinda breakeven ~ - 1$

then i Lost QQ vs AA vs a limp caller.
( he limped i raised 4BB he called, FLOP with undercards rainbow.. he checked i raised he called, Turn still only undercards he checks i raise he calls... River he goes ALl in ... i call.)
I Also Lost KK vs 2 pair
and a set vs a Flush

i was again down - 12 $ now ... after 640 hands.

THis is not fun at all and i went back to SNG.

played 2 6.50$ 18people and a 6.50$ 45 people.

busted in the first 2table SNG
and got 3rd for 21$ in the second.
I busted on the bubble for 8th place in the 45players SNG T_T for zero cash

SO all in all i am down now 7$ or something for today ...

not a big deal but i am very dissapointed with my cashgame results.
besides that i am kinda breakeven for too long now which is a bit demotivating...

lets see what tomorrow brings

My birthday :) by Gawuss, July 05

*So today is my birthday :D I'm pretty happy about it, cause my last birthdays were worse than this one*. However, this day was kinda boring. Most of the time I spent in my room in front of a computer and I was hanging out with my friends for a few hours.

Poker is going pretty shitty for me. I'm down about 2,2k so far this month and almost 5k since 28th June. It sucks cause I had a bet with Dusty and I guess I lost it. I need to change my signature now so Dusty plz write me a msg what is supposed to be written there

Good luck to all including myself cause it seems like I'm not lucky anymore

P.S. Maybe someone is going to give me a gift for my b-day ? :D I'd love to have some $ on my PS acc lol j/k ( but if you are such a nice, helpful and wealthy person you can transfer me some cash ^^ )

peace

4th of july by Stim_Abuser, July 05

pretty cool night.

went to my friends house which is a decently baller place. neighbors and him were having a sound competition and he was getting owned because they had those mortar types that you see at low budget shows.

i stepped it up and layed the smack down with my home made bombs.

how to: cut threw the middle of a picalo pete and take the white powder ( gun powder ) then tear a peice of plastic baggy to use as a lil holding pouch.

then get a two liter and put the baggie in the opening and fold it over. obv with the powder inside. drill a hole in cap. put cap on and insert wick in hole. light and BOOM.

i used 6 picalo petes. set off a few car alarms. we won.

prize was massage from neighbors sister. ship that shit.

Vegas Update Part 2 by JonnyCosMo, July 05

So one of the nights I met a loose/aggressive live pro named Tilton Milton. We all went over to omniheart's house on the north side of the strip and played some drinking games. I hustled Milton and SakiSaki in darts for like $200. I am a sick darts player yo~

Tilton Milton

Back at the Wynn there was a sick big $10/$20 game going on after Rekrul won his heads up bracelet. ElkY, Rekrul and their friend Martin all sat with $40k+ and just totally donk'd it up all night. In a span of 2 hours there were 3 $50k+ pots.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP12.JPG
ElkY

It was this night that I picked up the new phrase "sick life". It really does sum up a lot. All I was hearing while watching the table was ElkY saying "sick life, sickest life!" or "ssibbal!"

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP13.JPG
Rekrul on the right, their friend Martin in the hat on the left

ElkY again, obv chip leader yo~!

In the sickest hand of the night, 3 players got it all-in for $15k each making some $45k pot at 10/20. The donk in the green hat in this picture sucked out with his JJ vs some old nit's AA and Rekrul's unknown junk to rake the monster pot.

The big pot is brewing

The big pot

It was pretty sick to watch. Rekrul the next day said he didnt really remember some of the hands due to being so smashed. Back at our condo actionDJ had been clocking in some killer sessions and came up some mad dough~

Not much has happened here. by wilddamon, July 05

I started off on the $50 promotion with Titan poker, ground it up to $60 over 1000 hands or so at $0.01/$0.02.

Won back my money on VC, up to $13 from $3 over about 3 sessions (say 1000 hands as well I think). God it's so boring playing one table so I played on PS as well.. it's annoying how the windows pop up over each other.

however,

I think I'm a donk.

Here's some hands from tonights session.
I would have been up considerably had I not donked off a few stacks here and there.. and a few 1/2 buy ins here and there too.. -_-;

Points to remember:

  • Do not c-bet into a pot that still has more than 1 or 2 other people in it!
  • Top pair isn't always the best hand!
  • Set of 4's < flush especially when there are 4 flush cards on the board!
  • Sudden big bet on the river after calling often means the draw hit!
  • Do not call if you don't think you have the best hand! (well duh)

T_T. Stupid... I think
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224367

Have to say I had no idea what he was betting on on the river. Or generally calling down with. I still don't know
Although any king does the job.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224370

I was worried about the flush draw too. Lucky card on the turn and boom!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224372

Is he just giving me money?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224376

I shouldn't do this. T_T;
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224384

Lol whut? Is he trying to ship me the money with bottom pair? But I have to say I was worried about the random all in on the river.. thought he might have pock 5s or slowplay or somewhat.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224393

Here, dunno what was going on with the all in guy, but Suicidal must have been suicidal. or trying hard to ship money my way. Good for me
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224399

I'm sure I should have smelled a rat.
Donktastic.
T_T;
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224402

Yay, a good hand to finish off my session. Dunno what the other guy was playing at. Still, I'm sure I shouldn't be so passive -_-;
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224416

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 494 hands and saw flop:
- 37 out of 67 times while in big blind (55%)
- 4 out of 64 times while in small blind (6%)
- 42 out of 363 times in other positions (11%)
- a total of 83 out of 494 (16%)
Pots won at showdown - 15 of 22 (68%)
Pots won without showdown - 34

total won: $1.74

Mission Accomplished by sTrAtO, July 05

Today after finishing in 2nd place at a $3+R for $127, I achieved my goal for this summer that was to have a bankroll of over $1100. Mainly because I'm going to have to withdraw $700 to pay some things at school and I wanted to leave $400 for NL20.

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/5593/titanpoker4junyb3.jpg

My summer vacations ain't over yet so I still have a lot of poker to play ;D

July. by MezmerizePLZ, July 05

I'm going to try to put tons of hours in during July. In June I really slacked since graduation parties, moving into the house, and Vegas. I think overall in June I lost about 15-20k (not many hands), but it seems like a lot more since I cashed out over 100k I believe... The Vegas trip was very nice and I am amazed at how many sick restaurants are everywhere. If I lived in Vegas I would for sure be 300+ lbs.. I really want to do a Europe trip soon too, maybe play in an event maybe just go to Europe or whatever, but I am definitely planning on going to the PCA, where I'll be able to do everything unlike in Vegas.

I am also going to be offering lessons through LP, $460/hr will be my going rate (would have only been 400 but LP takes like 15% or whatever). I will offer lessons from 2/4-5/10, for anything higher I could probably make some deals but it would cost more and I wouldn't have any set rate. I'll be giving lessons over live meeting/ventrilo n stuffs so if you're interested PM me.

I think I may try to grind up my money that I have on Primapoker (I have like 10k on rednines), since I get rakeback and I also think the games seem softer (though I haven't tried higher than 3/6). The traffic isn't quite as good but its still not horrible, at times there are lots of 5/10 tables running and such. I still don't know how to set up poker tracker for it though, lol.

Ne ways, peace.

NL50 by NeillyJQ, July 04

Had a nice session on NL50 today, was being sucked out on some in the beginning but then started running a lil better

got pretty drunk during the session, was playing fairly loose & managed to finish the session up a lil more than 5BI.

Probably be playing more later, if not then tomorrow;

Heres my stats from todays session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1623 hands and saw flop:
- 135 out of 234 times while in big blind (57%)
- 72 out of 227 times while in small blind (31%)
- 201 out of 1162 times in other positions (17%)
- a total of 408 out of 1623 (25%)
Pots won at showdown - 51 of 97 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 189

And a few good & bad hands;

vs Malleebull - lol I don't know what this guy was thinking...but cool thx for the money;
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224293

vs bubbajoe/ivonovich - hmm, led out on my set here and had ivonivichichihcihch in there with me, figured him for TPw/FD or a smaller flush. Turn gave me no help and he came out firing, I decided not to muck incase he had a flush, and make a pretty shitty call. I then make my boat and shove hoping he has the Ad, but he didn't and folded.
It was probably a good turn call, his bet was pretty big, he didn't want a diamond to come..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224286

vs kip1 - lol..just give it to me why don't you
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224290

vs croucher1979 - pretty obvious hes on a flush draw here, especially when the king pairs the board (he would have made a signifigant flop bet if he had a king to protect vs the open ender and FD), let him bluff the river~
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224280

vs futsy - I like this hand, I never ever limp any high SC UTG, so I limp it here. Figure nobody can put me on it if I hit it. I don't do this more than 1% of the time, but its nice that it worked ;-)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224288

vs MightyMonkey - led the flop trying to get reraised (made a bet that most donks make with the open ender), that didn't work but it panned out well, letting the AK hit top pair. River i check, see someone has something and try to represent a missed draw with a big bet. Worked
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224270

vs prentissscr - man I don't know what this guy is thinking, but we need to play with him more! Sweet pot for me!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224265

vs aceme007 - figured he was on a small pair here, last I saw the flop was JJQ, QKA!!!!, and it came.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224264

vs yorbor32 - Yorbor donkbets out, I start building the pot and creating fold equity. Turn smashes gin for me, I bet enough to keep him in the pot. River he gives me the rest, sweet.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224263

vs Mrbeansack - open my sooted connector, lead flop, play it like aces and get paid. He was out of line reraising with his pp there anyways, let alone calling all-in with it.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224258

vs 3beers - I played this pretty bad, I should have realized the only thing hes reraising me here with on the river is a flush...psh..atleast he gets paid on his straight flush
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224253

vs oak1995 - I played this really bad I think, I won't bet these rivers 4way again..let alone call his reraise..so obvious I'm beat..lol (on second thought I do beat 25h and 35h!!!! lol)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224273

vs mercadian - open my SC UTG, get alot of callers. They bet SO weak on flop trying to get me to define my hand or trying to get value on shitty hand or smthing, so I call with my 3STR8FlUSH, turn an open ender and let them bet again. Too bad they bet like 10 cents so I do what any logical player will do and represent a monster here. (For all they know I have Top/Middle set). Pick up a caller and shove river (which completes a straight) but he didn't have that much $ just incase he did have it. I think thats all he would have called me with here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224242

vs egn174 - Open my AQ in MP and get a couple callers. Random donkbet from EP (Probably on a small PP(55-JJ)), I flat which is the line JJ-AA+AK takes here. Turn brings out the 3rd King so its hard to represent top quads, but still can represent AA/QQ/JJ and he could believe I have AK I assume. He flats and donks out the river to see if I was bluffing him..So I make a logical raise and steal it away.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224236

vs darth-nil - PHEW!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224238

vs TomGeorgeONT - I love abusing weak players postflop on the button.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224225

vs LushLauren - I like this one, I 3bet AK from the SB and get a caller, figure shes on AK or TT-AA obv. Flop my TPTK, and see no reason to bet here (I only get called by a hand that dominates me). I lead fairly weak on the turn and get called, then its time to ship the rest on the river.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224224

vs dld390 - Lee didn't want me to do to well tonight.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224219

vs PlayinTW - This hand pretty much plays itself out, its obvious hes on a set when he makes this play, I'm not folding with all that in there though.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224178

vs NME99X - AA vs KK 4TW!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224218

So all in all, today was a nice session, short but sweet.

23,459 FPP til SuperNoVA! (Yellow hair bonus +++)

GL Everyone~

NL100 so far by Murray, July 04

http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/2264/nl100sofareq5.jpg

Here's my total graph of NL100 so far. Today I played about 1k hands there, with about $400 profit. I'm up now there totally, wohoo! I tried opening up my game a bit, running at about 22/18.

Not really tricky hands there yet, most of the problems I have concern 3bet pots. I feel so exploitable there, basically I'm going with hit AK, KK+ or set or better. Like one hand I 3bet button raiser from sb with AK, flop comes 9 high rainbow, I cbet, he shove over it, naturally I fold and he shows me AQ (villain just sat in, no reads). It's standard fold I guess, but still felt gay to be shown AQ high there :X.

O well hope I'll play good and learn things more, and run good of course! ;d Keep you updated

Bad Run by TimDawg, July 04

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w1...wg888/JuneandBeginningofJulyStats.jpg

So poker has really sucked as of the last two months. June started off really well and I was up somewhere around 2k over a pretty small sample size. I had a 12k roll, was taking shots at 400NL when the games were good, and had a lot of confidence in my game. Well 400NL didn't last long.

I lost all of my profits for the month and decided to stay at 200NL for the rest of June. The bad run continued and I had 5-6 small losing sessions in a row at 200NL. So to regain my confidence, I moved down again to 100NL and planned on moving back up once I grinded my BR back up to 10k.

Well so much for that because I haven't been able to win there either. So here I am at the beginning of July with an 8k bankroll, playing 100NL, and not really having that much needed confidence in my game anymore. I really don't know what to make of it. I guess I'm probably over reacting to what is a standard bad run. On the plus side, I'm getting really close to supernova and will be bankin' again when I start to get the 1.5k bonuses. I'll also be getting a long-term coach really soon and that should help a lot as well.

Sorry for being so depressing lol, I feel like I should put something positive in as well, so.....

Ok, off to /wrists and play some more poker!

Gl everyone,
Tim
