Pokerwise I've been running bad in tournies, no biggy though. Uhm I'm playing in the team poker league that I talked about last time in my blog. Got knocked out in the second hand, well done chris
Second hand I call UTG+1 raise (he raised first hand 3xBB everyone folded). So I call from sb with 66 and BB calls. 6-7-2. I check, BB checks, UTG+1 bets 400 in a 450 pot (blinds 25/50 | 10,000 chips | 30 min levels). I raise to 1200 he smooth calls. Turn card brings an Ace, I check, he bets 1200, I minraise <3 to 2400 and he pushes imideatly. I think for about 2-3 minutes and call, he shows AA, and I dont get to suck out (for once).
Anyways I'm playing this saturday again, lets see if I can run good and take that shit down.
ok so I felt that since I'd have a bit over 10k when the rakeback would come I could take a shot at NL400. BAD idea. I don't think I played that bad, but I ran really, really shitty. My BR went down below 6k and even though I'll get 2k any day now I really feel like shit.
I only do blogs when things are good, last month was my worst month in 4 months, barely made anything compared to what I did in the summer. So I wont talk about that.
Here is my best day ever, almost 26 buyins in 5k hands.
So anyways tonight I get up at 10PM as usual sit down to do my job for the next 8 hours as I do everyday and poker here we go...Or do we...?
NL25 started by running into quads with AK on A99 and A77 boards,so im like ok shit happens lets continue...then I lose some more money on NL25 by coolers and shit so I decide its a good thing to move down to NL10.
NL10 starts hitting with TPTK again into, what else but QUADS.
Then the absolute mayhem began...
Ran into quads 4 times, six underflushes,3 undersets,AA cracked 4/5 times so overall I ran on 5.8K hands 42% winnings at showdown and managed to go down from 1120$ to 940$...Ain't life a peach?
So,I give it a rest and wake up my mom for work drink some coffee relax and so on...Decided to cut down from 12 to 10 tables and it worked out fairly well!
Played 1.4K more hands from 8am till now (10am) and it went fairly well...ran into sets with two pair on flop twice, that KK where i CRed him AI on turn and he calls and hits flush, but besides that nothing too out of the ordinary, and the stats for this little session were.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1418 hands and saw flop:
- 99 out of 178 times while in big blind (55%)
- 13 out of 177 times while in small blind (7%)
- 102 out of 1063 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 214 out of 1418 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 34 of 45 (75%)
Pots won without showdown - 59
Those are the stats I usually run at,lets hope I'll manage to bounce back up.Now I understand why my teacher wants me to use 100 BI's for a limit, the variance is truly a bitch sometimes.
As writing this my BR is like 1010$ and I'm really satisified I managed to get it up that much in only 1.4K hands...
P.S. This is not a result of tilt,I do not tilt...ever I get pissed off and curse sometimes and spam random shit in the chat window, but it doesn't affect my game.
My poker hiatus lasts for all of 2 weeks. My excuse was I had to play enough poker to maintain my Goldstar status. So I resumed playing Sept 27th.
In addition to +5.8 PTBB over 4k hands in NL100 6max, I achieved surreal success in full ring. This despite all those horrible PT numbers -- PFR%, AF and all that stuff. Is NL100 that soft? I find people rather nitty and predictable preflop and not very good postflop.
2 well played hands http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286554 33 I was able to get him pot-committed before he sensed trouble http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286388 JJ Normally I don't felt a weak overpair like this, but when they couldn't come over the top of my flop raise I knew I had the best hand -- they were on TP or draws
Leave it to the Poker gods to doomswitch me the day after making a post about how well I'm running at 25NL. Today I ended up having my worst recorded session ever and dropped about 5.5 BI in around 1200 hands or so. Literally every big PP I raised and got called with flopped an overcard or some really scary board with AA, I rarely got called when I raised with a big pair pre anyway, all my bluffs were picked off (often by hands that should have folded anyway), and I experienced some of the most annoying fucking suckouts I have in a long time. Here's the PT and graph for the session:
The graph is apparently wrong as I lost more than it says, but fuck it. Apparently most 25NL fish think that just going all in with a $50 stack in a $10 pot when villain bets like $5 has $10 left or something is a 5x pot overbet and is a bluff, so maybe I should take advantage of that for value instead in the future. Here are some of the more entertaining hands of the night for you to flame me on, enjoy:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286463 - my fault for slowplaying it all the way, but the river is still gay...an omen for things to come I guess. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286501 - I noticed that the table was being pretty nitty so I decided to raise here to see if I could pick up the blinds or get a good flop, and of course I did...I don't really like his call here but whatever. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286504 - awesome cooler. This guy had such a wide range of hands I couldn't fold, but I still wanted to control the pot size after he called the turn. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286510 - Maybe I should have just pushed but I actually thought I might be good here and if not I could get some better hands to fold, especially a hand like fucking Q9 here... http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286522 - Here I thought my overs and a 3 might be good, and I also thought I could rep a FD or SD if it completed. Apparently he says it was obv I had nothing because I "overbet the river so much" even though he only had like $20 behind his $5 bet...whatever nc I guess. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286524 - lol I love this one. I knew I was good here but thought he would call with some kind of A-hi hand with a FD/SD or something if he wanted to be a hero, but instead he makes a brilliant call with JT and it gets there...another hand where I "drastically overbet" even though it was only for like 1/4 of my stack. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/286534 - lmfao my favorite hand of the night. Obv I wanted as much money in the pot as possible so I tried to let villain call another bet, especially after the shitstorm of a session I had been having, and I basically creamed my pants on the turn, only to have my hopes and dreams dashed once again on the river.
So there you have it, my session in a nutshell. At least I still have a BR to play 25NL tomorrow and hope for a good session, but as for tonight, I can only put it like this:
Here's my final 2/4 and 3/6 graph. I think it's my best month ever. I did have one month were I was up around 50 but I downswung 18 at the end so I think this one is definitely better.
Very happy! Just putting it here as a record so I have something to strive for.
As some of you may remember from my last blog, I had thrown a psycho-tantrum bitch fit on the 400NL tables and lost half my BR. I finally jumped back on two NL50 6-max table all full of aggressive players and nits, on purpose to test my skill. I have to say that was one of the most intimidating sessions I have ever had. It was 221 hands of nightmarish proportions.
Overall I think I held my own, but not without some blows to my stack/ego. Absolutely horrifying table.
...meaning I had to play them differently just to stay unpredictable I guess. Comments on hands are encouraged and appreciated.
Bankrollwise, I think I will dive right into 100NL in the next week after getting in some hands at 50NL. Skillwise however, I don't think I can develop a solid winning style to combat regulars by myself. Those aggro CR fuckers can really twist my balls... :|
poker over the last few days...EV graphby shaneomac, October 02
poker has been rough lately...seems i trade off losing and winning days, but hey it happens. here is my pokerev graph if anyone can tell me how to read it or what it means =D.
So I haven't been posting for over 2 weeks cuz I was ultra busy all the time and a bit lazy too. Everything is OKish except for the fact that I was ill on my 20th birthday (last Sunday) and I didn't go out and didn't get drunk as shit But oh well. I'm almost fine now so I'll get smashed on Thursday (first drinking at my friend's flat and then going out) and Friday (big party at my friends' house). So far I had a really good time and I spent my first week at the uni going out every night etc. Before I moved into my hall I thought I'm a degenerate. I changed my mind after I saw my flatmates at 10am still drinking (since like 7pm a day before) without getting any sleep (they had lectures the same day at 12). And they got pissed every day in the last 17 days etc etc. So looks like now I'm the "not going out and drinking too much" type of a guy lolz.
As for uni it's been good so far. I only have like 11hrs a week and only one of my units is fucked up. This Friday I have an exam from ITS but I think it's gonna be EZ. I also started learning Spanish cause I wanna be cool and stuff. My Spanish teacher is Spanish, about 28-30yrs old and very very hot so I think I'll enjoy these lessons (and try not to get a boner all the time).
Pokerwise I haven't played at all until last Saturday, when I decided to really focus on poker (for like 92357th time) but this time I'm doing really good. In the last 4 days I've played almost 9k hands while 4tabling most of the time (sometimes I have 5-6 tables opened cuz I can't decide which one should I close) so I'm really proud of myself lolz. It's half of what I've played last month. My results aren't bad except for one session when I decided to mess around and play nl100 HU where I dropped 4 buyins. I've been getting really loads of beats and coolers but I'm still winning and I feel that I'm playing really good and I made some really good bluffs and calldown. Here are my stats and a graph for the last 4 days:
Now it's almost 3am here and I just went to kitchen for a cig but I was obv forced to drink a beer as well. Gonna finish new episode of Prison Break now and go to bed. Tommorow I need to do some shopping as my fridge is literally empty. Then I'll study a bit and play some poker. I might go out tommorow but I'd rather save some power for Thursday and Friday. Anyway, it was a pretty boring post so I'll end it right here and I'll just post my 2 favorite kitten pics:
I run bad. NL100 despite being fishy, not at all different from NL50, was a big cooler [censored]. Plenty of my value bets w/ TPTK got rivered for an ugliest donk winning hand: lowest two pairs. So I dropped down. And the [censored] continued. Every donk that semi-bluff shoved into my top two hit his draw. Also I tilted a little bit and now I'm down to $157. That is all.
Poker sucks so I'm watching scrubs. In some episode during season 3 Bambi says something about him rather watching some crappy TV-show and eating pizza with the blond girl rather then hanging out with anyone in the world. That sounded really romantic and I got disturbed by the lack of pizza beside me and girl on my shoulder so I decided to make a list of possible girls.
1. Black girl - To stupid personality, unreliable and shit.
2. Ugly girl - can't be seen in public with (lol if you read this, you know I like you but I'm shallow)
3. Former roommategirl - not cute enough, possibly not fun enough.
4. Former girl of my dreams who didn't want me - Doesn't like me, is currently living on the other side of the world and overall not as cute as she was before.
5. My sisters friend who I sleept with - a bit to tiny in size, lives in another city and won't dump her boyfriend for me because I'm unrealiable.
