http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/290899 KQh I wanna call so bad, but opponent bet flop multiway and continued aggression, so I really can't see what I beat
Big bluff (an unsuccessful one)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/290060 44 better chance of a successful bluff would be 1) bet-3bet AI on flop or 2) c/r flop and AI on turn. By the time he bet so large on turn I should have told myself to pack it in.
Bad beat

I started out with $50 and I'm working my way up. I thought I should start making some posts and seeing if I can work on my poker skills and really try to understand what it's like to be a good poker player. I would appreciate any advice if there's something I could have done better. I'll post again another time. See ya.

| | Thank You SSNL! by JonnyCosMo, October 08
This is a special thanks to all the 2+2 regulars who play small stakes on PokerStars and FullTilt. Without you SSNL guys, this blog entry would not be possible. Thanks again for all the financial support and all you've given me over the years.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/ThankYouTwoPlusTwo.jpg
A. Thank you carrotsnake for my Ergo Proxy DVD series. It was really a very entertaining show! At $24.99 per DVD, I pretty much was able to get the entire series the first time we played! Thanks again <3
B. Thanks pennpal for my Bose Head phones. They are the best set of head phones I've ever had. And I felt these were a really hard earned pair of head phones to get considering you play so freakin tight.
C. Thanks Acemanhattan for my iPhone. Sorry I purchased it a week after it came out, so I didn't get to cash in on that $100 rebate that they offer now. No worries, you paid it in full!
D. A very special thanks to brudman for my new HP desktop computer. This baby is equipped with that new Intel Quad Core technology, 600gb's of hard drive space (not including the external hard drive), NVIDIA 8600 GeForce graphics card, and 3090mb's of DDR Memory. The entire system was around $1700 total after I installed the video card, and you were nice enough to pay every last cent. You are a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you.
E. Thank you catcher3333 for my Logitech lazer point mouse. I was able to purchase this after re-stealing your retarded min-reraise preflop for the 50th time.
F. Thank you luckybacon for my HP laptop. Sorry I don't use it much. I promise the next time someone gives me $1200+ to spend, I will make a wiser investment into an item that I will be using more than once a year.
G. Thanks greg1osu for my triple lamp that I got from Target. It was on sale. Thank god for that too because you almost didn't give me enough for it!
H. A very special thanks to FGators26 for my duel 24" monitors. At $899 a piece, these babies make multi-tabling sooooo much easier than my old 17"!
I. Thank you nsd4eva for the very comfy leather chair that I sit my ass on while I play. I was thinking about getting a second (nicer) one, but you run like god, so I guess I'll make someone else pay for the next one.
J. Say hello to my 500gb external hard drive complete with all the music / videos from my old computer. I pretty much have every mp3 I downloaded back in the Napster days on that external hard drive. Thanks a lot for this FoofChunk! No really, I am forever in your debt.
K. Thanks BGnight for my 80gb video iPod. Had to replace the old one because it was only 60gb and that's just too small. Gotta keep with the latest fashion yo~!
L. Thanks needfood for my fan. It keeps the air flowing in my room nicely. It's definitly a must have with San Diego weather.
Thanks to all SSNL over at 2+2 Forums once again! You guys are rockstars.

| | standard HU session by SneakrFreakr, October 08
oh well
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/5057/zzzzzvm7.jpg
I told myself like 5 times already that I'm not gonna play any HU and that I'm gonna stick to 6max only. But I checked all 6max tables at nl200 nl300 and nl400 and they were ultra bad - just the regulars, ultra nits and occassionally shortstacked fish). I wanted to play so I decided to do some nl200 HU. Exactly on my first hand I got stacked lolz. Maybe it was a sign that I should stop at that point. But instead I lost 1k more
From now on if anyone spots me playing on a HU talbe (6max table that broke down to just 2 players doesn't count) I'll ship him $100 to him and $100 to pokerdonors.com. Maybe this will keep me away from HU I think I might actually be playing pretty bad. I noticed that I easily get spewy in HU and I'm very impatient there (which is definitely not a case on 6max). So I'm just gonna stick to what's best for me and I might give HU another shot in the future but at least not until the end of the year. And before I'll start I'll have to watch all HU vids on CR. ALL of them.
Ok that's the end of this ultra boring post.

| | My experience by NeillyJQ, October 08
Ok, sittin here smokin a joint thinkin about poker, and figured I'd write up a biography of my poker past.
Aug 03' - I get back from Taiwan and see Rekrul and Nazgul switched to poker, I saw some correlation between the two and choose to do the same.
During this time I never read a book or anything, just played off pure heart. I did this for the next year, and won 2 small tournaments ($1000, and $150) during this time, but went busto instantly cuz i was playing NL50 6max with a 4 BI br bank then.
For the next year I played tournament poker, and got really good at it by 05'. I started cashing in tournament poker on a high enough % where I was pulling some profit.
Beginning of 06' came, and I got my first big score of $5,300 from a $3 rebuy.
I went to Atlantic City with the money and lost some, but had a great time. I played at the tag in the 2/5 games everynight, vs some realllllllllly good players. It was like a lesson everyday. Now when I go play live anywhere I just dominate cuz of the month I spent in AC.
Came back to reality and started playing online again and my good friend DooMeRFD taught me how to play cashgames correctly, then I read a few books and learned the fundamental theorem of poker, as well as deepened my learning of the deep math concepts that accompanies poker.
I also used sakisaki's video, and Daut44's video as good learning tools and recommend them to everyone. I think you can find links on there blogs or under one of our forums
From then on, I ran $18 into $3990 before going on a crazy tilt run losing my br the first time.
After that, I'm thinkin, FUCK POKER, but what the hell, I give it another go after like 2 days (yeah, its an addiction)
This time I managed to work to NL50 and dominating again, but my arrogant ass thought I was good enough to play with the big boys and I lost my roll soon shortly there after.
Next time "this is July" - I tell myself, if I lose at poker I have to quit for atleast 6 months, maybe a year. If I want to play I need to win and not go into the games where I'll lose my roll.
I do well, run off 5k and cash it out.
Move into new apartment - furnish it - buy tv - etc.
Next time around is fucking sick. I build my roll and dominating NL50, and get 3rd in a tourney for 4k, +2.3k BR)
Then go completely ice cold the next day and lose all of it.
Then $1500 from my bank account.
-$8,000 day - worst day ever
So since I can't put anymore on stars for a week I ask our good friend Rush for a loan (Still have money in the bank to cover it if it went bad), and turn the 300 into $3k in 2 days.
Paid him back, and got deep in the $100 $25k gntd at night on stars, and got bad beat the fuck out when i was 2/20 left, losing AAvJJ,AKv55,A4vKT
And here I am, just got done running like shit on NL100, and playing pretty poorly as well.
And I've come to a realization. I'm just not good enough to play with them anymore. NL50 is the only place I can play for the next few months.
1/2 I'm great at because I play it a ton at the casino, but I'm staying out of there til I hit 8k.
So here we go, on a mission to 8k by Nov.1.
The 8k is what I lost all together..
This run has taught me about how deep variance is, is to always be playing on atleast 40 bi's, and to be willing to use your entire stack whenever needed, and also good opportunities to bluff.
So I got $1,500, 3 years of experience, and ounce of weed, and a dream to make it to 1/2 by christmas, and be good enough to stay and play there for a long time.
Wish me luck boys,
Ryan (DReaMe)

| | WOOOHAH. CASINO FISH ROUND 2. by WilsWils, October 08
Hellooooooooooooooo fellow bloggers and LPer's! How do you do today? Earlier in my 2nd blog i talked about how i'd head out to the cas again after the stupid session earlier the previous day.
Let us begin
Me and my friend Leif, henceforth known as biggy smalls decided to hit up the cas on sunday, pre thanksgiving. (LOL CANADIAN THANKSGIVING). We stroll into the card room and immediately get ID'd (clearly we were seen as far too young to be as balla as we were) not once, not twice, but three times. We walk around the room surveying the variety of games, and take note of a these tables:
1.) 5/5 DC with sicko stacks of 10k+ chips
2.) 3/6 limit with dirty terrible casino degen grampa grinders.
3.) 1/2 NL tables with ALOT of young guns who surprisingly either play stupidly tight or stupidly loose. I mean, they dont even play with calculated aggression, its more like their thought process is
"HMMM, WELL I RECALL BACK ON THE WPT DVD I BORROWED FROM MY FRIEND AND WATCHED ON MY MOM'S DVD Player, THAT HASAN HABIB PUSHED ALL IN WITH K7o AND GOT PEOPLE TO FOLD, I GUESS HE MUST KNOW WHAT HES DOING SO I GUESS I CAN DO AN ALLSTAR PLAY TOO. LOL IM ALL IN"
"i call"
"FUK LOL O WELL I CAME 2 GAMBLE"
that's basically how it goes when you play with the high school guys who've just turned 18.
Anyways, me and biggy sign up for the young gun table and get seated after a 30 minute wait. We buy in for 250$ each ($$$$$$$$$BALLLIN$$$$$$$$$$$$) and proceed to set to work, having a % of each other's profit.
The first hour is mainly us just trying to get action started, straddling and re-straddling each time we can just cause we can. This was one of the most rainbow tables ive ever sat at (LOL GET IT REFERENCE TO A POKER BOARD), we had:
Seat 1: Biggy smalls
seat 2: Old white woman
seat 3: Old black guy
seat 4: Not quite as old, but just as black, black guy
seat 5: Young black guy, (may have been famous basketball player, or ex-con - his face was extremely familiar)
seat 6: Fatty white man, beer gut, bottlecap glasses
seat 7: Extremely suave and handsome asian man (me)
seat 8: Young gun #1
seat 9: Young gun #2
Ok. So now that all the table dynamics have been shown, ill start talking about memorable hands that happened
i ended up losing about a 100$ trying to semibluff on bigg-o draw boards , AsQs on a flush draw board and unable to hit etc, where as biggy was playing pretty tight and was chipping up nicely, nearly doubling his stack within an hour. Eventually, i stole a big pot with an ace high c/r on a stupidly dry board for 130$ ish or so to put me up a bit.
Next hand I straddle when it gets to me UTG, and we get a re-straddle and the pot starts building with 3 callers. I look down at 10c7c and pop it up to 25$ and get the 2 black guys calling.
Q K J rainbow. I check, and the other 2 check behind. Turn is the 6c giving me a possible club draw with an ace high straight. I put on my most serious face and go.
"50." sliding in a decent stack of reds. Old black man folds and young black man tanks for a while.
Now why would he tank, ladies and gents?
Taking a minute to call, i put him on a few things.
Q10, AJ, 1010. I figured i get push him off if he had taken this long to call, and if i bricked off on the river.
River was a harmless looking 3d , and i fire out 1/2
He giggles , says "i call" ( i had like 100 left or so) and tables A10 for the flopped straight.
i play goot
I went and reloaded and sat back with 250~ish.
A few hands later, there's a straddle on board and i look down at 89s , i complete as does a few others, but i take a look at old fat white man and he notice he was acting quite strange, almost as if he had some sort of poker elation, which i will explain later.
Biggy looks down at his cards and completes the straddle. Black man pops it up to 20$. suddenly, old white man calls. He had been playing extremely tight so i decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and folded with great implied and pot odds -________________-, young gun also completed the call on the 20$
Biggy , now i have played with him for a while so i knew he was huge (extremely solid / tight player, great for casino games). As he fished an entire stack of reds and slid them in the middle.
dealer "Re-raise, 80."
young gun calls the 80$ reraise, and immediately behind him old white guy makes it 200, double fisting his chips into 2 huge towers while shaking incredibly. I was like WOW HES SO NERVOUS HE MUST HAVE IT.
Biggy goes all in for 400, shoving over top.
Young gun complains and goes GOD HOW CAN I FOLD THIS, and mucks QQ. Old man, still completely shaking says, I CALL.
Biggy flips up AA ofc, while old man doesn't show. (See where im going with this? does this seem.....familiar?)
Board goes
Q 5 4
Turn
6
River
7
So at this point im like FUCK what if he hit that set of queens? everyone goes LOL NICE SHOW THE QUEENS
whiteman tables 58h for the runner straight.
HUK HUK. Biggy steams and walks it off by taking a couple laps around the casino, and reloads for 150. So sick. So much for us making a big payday -_-
Now at this time, this story continues with new blood. Seats 8/9 are replaced by DIFFERENT young guns, super annoying ones.
seat 8: SUPER LOUD ASIAN GUY WHO TALKED IN CAPS LOCK IRL. HE HAD IPOD HEADPHONES IN AND WOULD JUST FUCKING YELL LIKE THIS WHEN HE TALKED EVERY SINGLE TIME, IN ADDITION TO WHENEVER THERE WAS AN ALL IN HE'D GO ONE TIME, ONE TIME, ONE TIME DEALER LIKE IT WAS A TOURNEY ETC.
seat 9: his brown friend, looked like he was 13 and had aviator like non - sunglasses glasses. so weird.
They both bought in for the minimum 100$ and i prepared to feast on the shorties. hopefully.
I had the usual TAG-ish image, combination of the table being super , super loose and my seat being behind a tight whitey, but with loose people behind me -_-
ANYWAYS, one hand where LOUD ASIAN MAN showed his douchebaggery was this:
seat 3 pops it up to 20$ , 4/5/6 all call. everyone else folds to asian kid who looks down at his hand and starts whining. immediately. "AWWW fuck, why this hand? this is bullshit, god"
"i'm all in"
and throws his entire 100$ stack in. Obv seats 3-5 call and 6 folds, and the board is inconspicious to the rest of this story.
Asian kid ends up tabling AA and everyone sorta gawks at him for giving a speech then doing what he did. He starts complaining, very loudly ofc, MAN I WISH I HAD MORE MONEY THEN I COULD HAVE (weird odds math calculation). He gets yelled at by seat 3 who looks like he could eat him irl for breakfast, and immediately quiets down.
I finalyl end up getting tangled in a hand with asian guy, when i pop it up to 15$ after 4 limps before me with Kc9c
asian guy calls and so does old white man.
Flop
Ac 6d 7x
Pretty boring flop, but enough to represent some sort of possible hand. I fire out 40 and they both call.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/wilswils57/LOL-1.jpg
Turn
3c
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/wilswils57/lol2.jpgLOL I MEANT TO WRITE I CHECK
Intresting, at this point i figure im beat. BUT- I know that asian guy does not have an ace. i know that much, just by the way he was playing the and and such. White man on the other hand, most likely had a weak ace. I checked hoping to figure out some way to take this pot away on the river if a face card popped out. They both checked behind.
River
2c
wham bam ty mam, ship the nut flush. Old man front bets 10$, trying to buy the pot by betting 1/15th of it clearly. I reach for a stack, slow down a bit and make it look like im thinking, and trying to raise an ace for value, OR making an outrageously weird bluff (it is casino after all, no one knows what someone's line would be and 90% are incapable of beyond 2nd level thinking), and i throw in 10 reds for a smallish reraise (relavent to pot) for 50$. Asian guy stares at me, and says "Man, whats your kicker bro?"
"Im bluffing"
"Now i know youre full of shit, youre trying to use that reverse- reverse psychology huh? you really are full of it. I CALL"
white man folds immediately as i table the nut flush
He sheepishly mucks and does not tell me what he had, i can only presume 10's or something. I rake in a nice pot.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/wilswils57/FLUSH.jpg
Next hour is extremely card dead for me and biggy and we still straddle , but continually see fucked up welfare cards like Q3 38 etc etc , standard stuff
Finally, i find AQo in the cutoff and pump it up to 15, geting just the asian guy (lol) calling me, we're HU as we head to the flop. Asian guy has about 150 left.
Flop
Qx 3x 9x rainbow
I check to him, and he fires out 15 , i call.
Turn
5d
He fires out 40, i call.
River
10c
I check and he tanks. "well.......if you got it, you got it" and throws in the rest of his stack, i casually slide the rest of my chips in and table the AQ for TPTK. as i scoop his money and say "SORRY BRAH" He sighs and sadly walks out with his friend , who had somehow busted earlier but i didnt care enough about him to write in this blog.
Anyways, the next hour is a fucking mess because i dont remember, at that point iwas tired and incoherent as was biggy who was basically falling asleep.
After 5 hours, our excursion netted us:
Biggy: down 200
Me: up 100. but still down overall for the week D;
Got home at 4 am and passed out. Im sure this blog is still kinda incoherent cuz im tired but oh well huk huk
Casino is fun.
Still havent touched the online br
Ty for reading friends

Life is good, school is picking up so I'm doing more and more reading. I had my first 3 midterms last week, and did fairly good on my first 2, but the 3rd one (the one that I thought I'd be the most comfortable with) went to shit since the professor structured the questions in the most ridiculous way. Hella gay yo! Anyways, I thought it be cool to post some pics of whats going on in SD. Been playing a lot of poker during the weekdays but not so much during the weekends...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/SD10.jpg
Picture of the sunset on Mission Bay San Diego from the bridge
Mainly this is due to my obsession with going to Mission Bay or Pacific Beach and getting trashed then crashing at my friend's house. My transportation is very limited so far since I dont have a car. I basically use my bike to get me places. The plan was to get a car 2 weeks ago, but I've been super lazy on that part mainly because I really haven't had a free weekend to myself yet. On the bright side, it's nice not to have to worry about how I'm going to get my ass back home when I'm drunk. And it's pretty sweet waking up in a baller pad such as this:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/SD11.jpg
My second home! My friends have such a baller pad.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/SD14.jpg
My weekend bed! That couch is way more comfy than my bed.
And as for life...

In the city!
Things to note if / when you guys ever visit San Diego: The Gaslamp district downtown has some sweet happy hour specials that last all the way to 9pm at some places. The nightclubs downtown are pretty sweet as well (I've only been to two of them, but they were both good). The Yard House has the sickest selection of beer you will ever see. The Typhoon (in PB) on fridays is the place to be, period. Don't gamble in cardrooms in San Diego (or California in general for that matter) because they are rigged and will rake $4 every single hand EVEN IF YOU DON'T SEE A FLOP. Ok hope that helped you guys.
