i 4bet cause he's 22/20/3 for 50 hands and i thought he was sqeezing, in couple seconds when he pushed AI i thought he has AK too and i called... after i saw cards i started thinking that i had to bee way behind after he's AI and i should know it when he pushed...
I have been typing shit for school for a week so I decided to do some productive stuff.
I just learned Chip Twirl, I officially look like a baller at a live table now.
S> microsoft office 2007 standard editionby newbie.cjb, November 28
dont wanna go thru the ebay crap -_-
this is a military appreciation edition. it's the same thing as the orginal one. licensed for 3 computers. im selling for 75$.
pm me if interested.
I played a lot of heads up today.
And i finally found a pretty solid strat
( i watched some cardrunners videos , i observered some 100$ heads up and i reflectet all my previous Heads up games from 2$ to 30$ and when i feelt like getting owned and why.)
reason is i can only play 1 table at time with my eye injury so i dindt play cashgame.
unfortunately i lost a 52,50 $ in my last HU SNG when i put my stategy to a test.
HU went for 35 minutes and blinds where 100/200
my strategy worked pretty well except from losing a STraight vs river flush early on for 500 chips
losing QT on a T98 board all in vs KK when being ahead 2000-1000 in chips
so after 35 minutes back and forth
we were 1400 vs 1600 in chips
i get K9 ... of course with the 200 blinds its a push
he calls with QT
and hits a Full house on flop.
gg
but was fun ^^
Dont know how i will proceed with Poker.
I am playing this game for like almost 13 month now and i am up like 100$ lifetime T_T
Thats a shame compared to the hours i invested ...
probably like 8 a week on average for 13 month
416 hours of Poker for a total profit of like 75 euros ...
ship it T_T
compared to my holiday job income over the last 6 years
525h -> 6700$ profit ^^
so one thing after this 13 month is for sure
I am not of the material to ever make more money with poker than with a real job.
If i had the skill i d be playing at least NL200 now making
1-4 K a month
I think one of my problems is that i am " greedy " with everything i do.
Its kinda strange , but winning 400$ in 20 days doesnt really make me happy ... i have a feeling like if its almost no money at all and i want to make a lot more.
However losing 100$ on the other hand makes me super angry T_T Life tilt.
dont know if u guys get what i am talking about.
but i think its a general attitude of mine.
Whenever i achieve something good i am not too excited about it and immediately want to do even better.
i am very dissapointed though if i fail at something.
this attitude is kinda good for achieveing high level in everything where your bad or good descisions show directly in your results. ( sports and stuff)
but its probably not too good for poker where u get punished though u did everything right quite a lot.
U simply get frustrated too much
SO i think i will take poker as a hobby from now on without
thinking about money
probably 5$ HU SNGS and some NL10 cashgame every now and then.
but i wont ever dedicate time to poker anymore thinking about money
Like in UT or starcraft i will just play some games every now and then and try to have some fun
GL ALL
PS : this is not a whine post
I actually feel kinda good
RF online ... well the screenshots i researched (not featured) looked a bit shabby and it came across as a pretty standard/crappy game from the website (although the best option compared to the other games available).
but seriously this game is a w e s o m e =D
o) RvR with 3 races - 1 magi, 1 technology/magi, 1 pure robot. i hate RvR style but this seems to be highly populated and seems like theres main events every few hours. there´s also standard pk i think
o) appearance customisation .. male/female, each with 5 hairstyles, 5 eyes, 5 top starter garments, 5 bottom starter garments, 5 gloves, 5 boots.. (not that these matter coz you´ll have new generic equip after 3 levels... except for the robot race i think).
o) classes are warrior, ranger, mage and specialist (think these are hard-to-play weak crafter classes who can buy and pilot their own gundam .. if they can afford it)
o) you can use any weapon, skill, spec until level 40 (except for a few). but you have to start specialising right away because you need to earn skill points to upgrade your attack, defense, and individual skills. ie a TM system where you use a bow a lot so it upgrades itself. this has let me spent frickin ages trying out all the different weapons. twin axes are huge and godly
o) there are a shitload of drops. money comes easy once you get in the swing, but to begin with it´s hellish coz you need to collect and sell drops so you can buy bags to expand your inventory. you will be running back and forth to a shop to sell drops every time your 4 free slots become full
o) when a weapon drops it can be normal, vampiric, strong, great, advanced, intense, etc. they have various bonuses like hp absorb, increased dmg, hp bonus. i was swamped by these drops and it was well cool =D
o) really fun to play so far =D
(ps notice the guy in the 3rd screenshot... with the axe like 100 times bigger than himself)
Went to foxwoods one day over thanksgiving break so I could practice my high-fives methodology to dudes (and a chick) that emplore wearing sunglasses while playing the $100 donkament and 2/5.
so i get to the 'woods late and sign up at the end of level 1. now i usually hate getting to live short stack events late, but at my parents house in west hartford, i still have the same twin size bed since from when i turned 3 (i'm 25 now). usually this wouldn't tilt me that much, but since i now sleep comfortably on a sealey posterpedic pillowtop plush foam memory cushin mattress down in DC, this temporary downgrade really was tiltworthy.
i tried to remedy this by putting some type of egg-crate contraption on the twinney after not sleeping a wink the first night home, but this ended up causing me to sleep on a slant all night, and thus, have a hard time moving when i actually woke up.
ANYWAY. i sit at my table. 5K starking stacks. 20 min levels. im down to about 4800 before i look at my first hand. so i see some flops. miss all of them. set mine attempt a few pairs and im down to 2500 by level 3. at 100/200 there are 3 limpers. SB folds. i check 97dd in the BB. flop 10d 6d 2s. i lead 600 preparing to felt with any action. button is the only caller. turn 3d. with 1700 behind i bet 1K. button shoves for 600 more. i call. he has 45dd and misses his 1 out.
pick up a few more pots. hover aroun 10 - 12k for most of the tourney in shove/fold mode. gets down to 23 guys (20 paid). sunglass stu moves to my table, CL by pretty wide margin. this kid literally took 2 minutes to fold every hand, regardless if there was a raise in front of him. this was pretty aggrevating, especially bc of the 20 min levels. i did enjoy his speeches though, but definitely not as much as when there was a raise and he would strategically lower his shades to stare down the original raiser before acting. he actually even went through these same motions when it was folded to him as well. i commented that i thouroughly enjoyed his style. i then asked if i could have a high-five from him when i busted out. he countered by asking for a handshake/hug combo, but i assured him, that a high-five was definitely more classy.
so blinds get to 1500/3000/300. folded to me on the cut off i look at one card, see an ace, shove it in. called by JJ. miss wheel draw and the over. i get up and make my way to sunglass stu to recieve my parting gift. out of left field s.s. actually decided to go for a two-handed high-five. i calmly explain that its actually against my moral beliefs to perform such an act, as i explain that my childhood heros, the TMNT's (teenage mutuant ninja turtles to those born after 1985), have abolished such practices in favor of the one hander.
about 3 hours later i stack sunglass stu for a 300bb pot when i turned the stone nuts and snap call his pathetic bluff attempt with 33 on a 10 J 4 K board. but i'm glad to report i still received a ceremonious one clap slap.
Well NL50 6max has been going very fast. I basically haven't had a losing session yet, though most of the wins have been about 1-2 buyins. I haven't been leaving when I'm on top either, I try and always leave after losing a solid pot rather than when I'm winning big. Read something about that in Ace on the River and like doing it that way. Getting pretty used to leaving on a loss and don't feel a need to chase. Plus I'm seeing such a huge benefit to leaving after a loss, chilling for a bit, then coming back later. I think if I stayed after the loss I'd be more likely to lose money than win it back.
Anyway, rambling! The only losing sessions I had were yesterday when I got adventurous and tried playing some LAG, and then some maniac (60/40) to see how it went and get a feel for that perspective, especially since I NEVER do it. I actually did pretty well, but played 3 sessions and left each session after losing a big pot. Came out 3 buyins down from that experiment, then played a final session for the day and won it back playing my regular game. I like my regular game. I think it's ok. So I decided to stick to it.
Now I've hit $2,000. 20 Buyins for NL100. I was playing a 30 Buyin rule through NL25, but then I got inspired and took a shot at NL50 at 25 Buyins. It's gone well so far. Now I'm wondering if I should start taking shots at NL100. I think I want to wait a bit, till I have 23 or 24 buyins at least, so I have a bit more cushion. But maybe I'm just being too nitty. I do want to get out of the microstakes ASAP, but I also don't want to push it too hard and go backwards. I haven't played very many hands at NL50 and my success could just be a pretty good hot streak.
Actually, I know I'm running very well in big pots. That's been huge. I also think I'm playing an OK game, but not as good as my stats are saying. And who knows when the next downswing will come. I really don't want it to hit while I'm taking a shot with a short roll. Here's my Poker EV graph of my NL50 6max run so far...

Still playing overall well. Starting to get a much better feel for things. Thrown in a few more bluffs, which is still a very small part of my game, and they've been pretty well timed and gotten laydowns. I will tend to end the session with big stacks on most of my tables, but then only have a 1-2 buyin win cause of my mistakes which lost me money early on.
Also installed the Bet Pot Scripts, and they're quite nice. Makes things much easier, plus I suck at calculating the size of the pot when I'm raising someone so speeds things up. I also realized that I wasn't really raising the full pot, my calculations were wrong the last 3 months. Or so says the bet pot script!
got accidently poked in my left eye while warming up for an MMA training fight ...
Was like 2 days ago.
Didnt care at first and took the fight ignoring the pain in my eye...
was fun
then pain started to get unberable and i hardly couldnt see anymore.
1 hour later i was at Hospital ...
cornea ( you know the film over your pupil) got screwed pretty bad.
i got some painkiller medication
and the next 30h i tried to sleep lying in my bed.
5h ago was the first time i opened my left eye for a few minutes after almost 2 days of total darkness.
