So I've finally decided to start a poker blog. I've debated doing it for a little while but generally have been to lazy or otherwise unmotivated to do so, but I think overall it'd be beneficial to me to go over some sessions and examine them in greater detail, and obviously writing about them will do just that.
November was a good month overall, I finally got refocused on HU play and played at the level I'm capable of. I didn't really game select, but I limited myself to 2 tables at a time, and I think it really helped.
Now I have to figure out how to get more hands in...

I decided to take a shot at 100/200. I knew I had only a couple of minutes before someone else sat. Maybe a bit hasty, but good result nonetheless
No concrete goals for December, except trying to keep up this quality of play at 10/20 and 25/50. I'm going to try for better game selection this month, so maybe I can top 100 and buy something nice .
November Results/October Goalsby Roto, December 01
November profit = ~$175 (NL10)
Not quite close to my goals for the month but that is OK because I decided to begin playing cash again instead of SNGs.
My bankroll is around $765 and I will begin playing NL25 full ring. In November I easily got Silverstar for the first time, and I made my biggest MTT cash of $85
I'm not gonna post any graphs cause they aren't very pretty -_-
December Goals:
Break $1k by a good margin
Get GoldStar
Become a solid winner at NL25
Get my VPIP up to 15-16 ^_^ and PFR% up too
Yup I've done it, I'm at 10K$ ! I'm soon going to move to microgaming network (BF most likely - seems better than R9) when the rb goes in.
Today I'm going to go play a MTT at the Université Laval which is 25$ entrance, so 20$ in chips and 5$ entrance I guess. Is that standard for a 250 player tournament(I mean +5$ Fee)? I haven't really played many MTT, except when I started playing poker, so I'm curious if you have any tips I haven't really played big live game either (only played w friends) - Guess I should watch a CR video
Apart from poker I went to see a Taiko (Traditional Japanese drumming). It was pretty damn entertaining, the artist were really enthusiastic and skilled. School is pretty boring but it's soon going to end so it's Christmas break really soon.
Oh and I was thinking about if I should choose Oddeye as my username or something really unreadable(cjp86j78) or just perhaps another nickname. I think if someone google my username he will probably end up on liquidpoker and be able to see my style (I guess some regulars might do that vs those they play daily)
So Novemer is over. It was a decent month. I made 7,5k playing + I'll get like 3k in RB so I guess it's my 2nd 10k+ month which is awesome. I still can't believe I'm making this kind of moniez. In the last 2 months I've made more than my mother earns as a dentist in Poland during the whole year, which is actually pretty sad.
Not all levels are displayed in the PT stats cause I don't know how to make them all show up without scrolling down. Any ideas?
So as you can see I had 2 solid downswings this month but I managed to get out of both. I feel like I played really good this month and my game improved again. My Won $ At SD is 55% so I guess I can't complain too much?
I've been looking through my PT stats today and I've noticed two things. This are my position stats and misc. stats from November.
I think I'm losing too much in SB and BB. What BB Won/Hand (in PTBB) do you have for this positions? As you can see mine is -0.06 for BB and -0.14 for SB. What do you think about it?
I'm also losing a ton with high cards (which I guess is standard) but also with one pair type of hands. I have no idea what to think about it cause I've never really looked in this tab in PT so I don't know what are the standard numbers here.
As for non-poker stuff everything is going fine. I haven't played too much in the last week cause I've been going out a lot etc. I also have to study a bit. Last Friday (a week ago) I went out with a lot of Polish peoplez from the uni and I obv got ultra drunk but definitely had fun. During the week I went out for a few pints like twice. Yesterday I went to a pretty sick house party. First I went to my mate's place and his flatmate was organising what was supposed to be an international party. Like 3/4 of the peoplez were Russian though so I wouldn't call this party this way. And it was kinda boring so we went to another house party. When we got there we saw like 150 in the house and it was ultra fkin crowded. There were 2 rooms with DJs, one room where peoplez were just chillin, smokin pot and sniffin coke, and a few other rooms. Someone used the fire-extinguisher in the kitchen (dunno why) so half of the house had to go outside cause it was impossible to breathe. Then we came back like after 15 mins. After some time the house was soooo crowded (more and more peoplez were coming) that it was almost impossible to move. Since I've run out of my drinks and I'm not a fag so I don't drink wine and ciders, I decided to grab a kebab with my mate. We tried to buy some more drinks afterwards but everything was closed cause it was like 2:30am. Plus we were kinda tired because of the crowd inside the house so we just went home. Today I woke up about noon and haven't done anything since then. Now I gotta eat sth and meet up with my dad later cause he's in Manchester for the weekend and wants me to help with with sth. In the evening I might go out again which is kinda worrying cause I have to study and play poker but whatever.
Yesterday I went to the city centre and was planning to buy a shirt. Instead I came home with 4 tshirts, 2 jackets and a pair of sneakers. I was looking for a nice jacket for the last 3 months and couldn't find a single one that I liked. So I went to a shop I've never been to before and saw two nice jackets. I couldn't decide which one to buy so when the guy said he'll give me a 15% discount if I buy both I obviously insta-called. Ship teh jackets. I ended up buing sneakers in the same shop. I saw them when my mate was trying on a watch that he eventually bought as well. So the shop owner was running pretty good during these 10 mins. I gotta buy a few more things so I'm gonna hit the shops tommorow again. I need to start thinking about xmas presents as well, bleh. I hate this cause even year I have no idea what to buy and I guess that my mum is kinda bored with getting perfumes on every occasion.
Anyways this is already pretty long and I gotta go so gl at the tables (not against me though) etc.
I think I'm gonna keep making these cause when I'm forced to explain what I'm doing for the video, it makes me actually think about shit before taking action. I'm also hopeful that it will bring a lot of good feedback and allow me to find the bigger leaks in my game. And if I'm really lucky I will be able to get some good players to watch them and give me advice.
Plus the equivilent of $1462.50 worth of bonus money brings me to nearly 4k this month. I'm okay with that but looking forward to a "good" month as I feel I'm playing better than 1.58 bb / 100.
A really good month winrate wise, but I played such a small amount of hands. I did however, hit 10k on the month with the supernova rakeback rate.
I want to grind MSNL for like half a million in my life, and invest it, and be a millionaire from poker by the time i'm 30, as well as have a normal job I enjoy. These are some things I think about a lot during the day, do any of you 10k+ a month guys think about this stuff too? I'm just 21 right now and I think it would be easily achievable if I was just smart about poker and smart about life.
So november was a pretty shitty month for me, I ended it on the worst downswing Ive ever had which was about -7500 or something. Because I split my money and withdrew from PS as well Im going to drop to 200nl for about 20k hands and clear my 1500$ bonus at the same time.
University life is pretty sick, exams are coming up starting monday which blows but other than that its a pretty sweet expierence.
Also I dont really know all the poker ev shit so if someone could tell me what my graph means itd be appreciated, I mean other than that I cant play poker .
And to close it out a sweet pic of me and my girl that she photoshopped into a bday card. BTW she pwns 2c/5c
november wen't ok, not as good as i would have liked. working on my senior thesis, so there's minimal time to play. my goals for december are to make 50k VPP so I can get the milestone and to save up tons of dough to blow at the PCA since im 99% sure i'm going now.
thinking i'm gonna try and buy the PS travel gift cert and have them pay for the flight, anyone have experience with this? good bargain?
i think i've developed my game pretty well and am starting to feel adjusted to the games and players i'm playing daily, hopefully the heater doesn't end soon since i really think i run better than anyone on earth.
it felt like 5nl, it was so incredibly fishy i had to nit it up because it was a jackpot to hit Top pair with a good kicker... KQ hitting a pair was the new top set.
Why does poker wants us to give up on any social life :<, damn now im so tempted to never go out again but alchol and weed are as addictive as money so nope.
Anyway to make this blog slightly less boring unlike muwhelli the yellow chaser posting nudes and Loco bragging about having more monitors than a Casino's security room i will post a christmas picture:
Welcome to my super-awesome blog. Even though it is likely I give up on this within a couple days there exists a small chance of me keeping up with the hassle of your entertainment. Though small it is worthy. I'm not sure what I intend to write about on this blog. I will probably try to limit writing about poker as much as possible. Unless obviously I am in a bad streak and feel the need to post screenshots of my sklansky (whatever the crap those may be) bucks to show I don't actually suck but am mostly unlucky.
Other than that I intend to be writing in detail about things that are going on with LP and projects we are working on. Secret info might just happen to leak through this blog. Since most LP stuff is highly classified and this blog could quickly become boring I will also be talking about MMA betting. I'm trying to see if it's possible to actually be profitable in sportsbetting. So far I have made over 100 bets and have learned a lot with a slight profit. Without redepositing I luckboxed my way up a massive $500 on my $1500 starting bankroll by betting small most of the time. 2008 will be the year to take MMA betting to the next level!
MMA is pretty much my biggest hobby these days. Although once I start making big bucks from predicting the future it will longer be a hobby.
I use http://www.bestfightodds.com/ to find lines that are worth putting money on. For UFC 79 5Dimes and BetCRIS are the ones that have had the lines for a long time, all the others were recently released.
First off a quick peek at the Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale with Clay Guida vs Roger Huerta. Even though multiple sites had the lines for this online for a few weeks and Guida is at -140/-145 for most of them Pinnacle made me very happy when they released their UFC lines today; they were all off by miles. I managed to quickly put $140 on Guida at -121. I do think Huerta is a very good fighter but he is really unproven whereas Guida has gone to war with the best fighters in the division. Huerta is probably overhyped and should have been fighting better fighters already. Little note to Roger: just because you look good doesn't mean you can beat The Carpenter buddy. You're in for a surprise.
Then on to UFC 79 itself which features three awesome matches. If these fights actually happen it is safe to say that this is the best card UFC has ever put up. During UFC79 Raszi will probably give me an angry call about forgetting his birthday but so be it.
The first match being Chuck Liddell vs Wanderlei Silva. Of course Silva is a freaking monster and it's pretty clear Chuck is not a very good fighter and only knows how to beat strong wrestlers with weak standup. He is a bit similar to Crocop because they are both so hard to take down, except that Crocop doesn't have mediocre striking and Chuck does. There is a good chance Wanderlei is going to expose Chuck for what he is; a drunk with a giant tummy.
WHAT THE FUCK CHUCK?
Anyway beforehand I was thinking Wanderlei was the favorite in this fight and when the lines came out he started at EV (basically +100) and I immediately put the max $200 on him. The lines quickly moved into Wandy being the favorite and rightfully so. Now Wandys line is hanging between -120 and -130. However Pinnacle to the rescue even though some other sites had the lines for weeks and had him at -120 Pinnacle came with the brilliant idea to open him at +101 and I managed to put another $140 on him.
Machida vs Sokoudjou is really hard to predict, but I have the feeling Sokoudjou isn't going to outstrike Machida and will have a very hard time taking him down. I wouldn't be shocked if he managed to upset me though. Anyway Machida at -118.
After Matt Serra dropped out due to an injury one day later the UFC actually did something cool. They announced GSP vs Hughes. Now I don't have a clue why Hughes took this fight because he had a good chance of beating Serra and becoming the champion again. This mans ego is going to be his downfall. I don't see any way of Hughes taking this fight. At least Chuck has the capability to knock someone out, same for Sokoudjou. But who are we kidding Hughes' t-rex arms aren't going to knock out anybody. He has very little chance of upsetting. His skillset is completely built to dominate but once he faces a better fighter there's simply not much room in his arsenal for upsetting. Unfortunately I had to take GSP at -250. Today pinnacle also released a weird line on this one and had it -206 so I put some extra money at him. I guess we'll soon be seeing that one at -250.
Recap:
blablablabal, chuck is a drunk, blablabla Guida/Silva/Machida/GSP plz win.
Vancouver @ Minnesota Sunday night at 6pm eastern
