no friends available so going out alone. im totally comfortable with talking to random people. im also slightly afraid ill get into a fight or get thrown out of somewhere. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I GO OUT, FACT.
anyone an expert on going solo¿
im prety fucked and its 10pm and i just wanna go out. its not like argentina where u go to a brothel and just fuck around. im gonna go to the squaddie or liquid lounge or somewhere and see if i can find anyone i know. chances are i wont. chances are ill say HEY I BET U PLAY WORLD OF WARCRAFT; WHY, BECAUSE YOU´RE FAT LOLLLLLLLLLLL. and find some friends that way. lol
Since my school program is fuckin hard I realized that I can't focus much while playin since I had shit loads of stuff to worry about and I also didn't want my swings to affect my life in school and shit. So I decided to stick to 200nl and 400nl only and try to play only to make some $$ while in school without focusing on gettin a better player! I know it sounds dumb but Im really happy with the decision I made and Im gonna keep doing the same for the next few years till this fuckin thing is over and I can be called an engneer just for kicks.
Since the start of this month Pokerstars made it possible to play up to 24 tables at cash games.
This was really good for me since it allowed me to do exactly what I wanted to do which was putting lotta of hand at low limit tables without any focus and just make some cash as a part time job.
Well I tried it and it worked nice. At the begining I had to do some adjusting but as soon as I got used to it its working out good.
I got a 30' monitor and I pile all the tables at half the screen and I put a movie/Pen &Teller(thanks to baal)/Myth Busters/Southpark/HSP or some other kinda entertainment on the other half and play the fish at 200nl. Ofcourse my winrate has droped a ton cause of what Im doing but Im also getting relaxed and having fun and getting FPPs to cover all that and Im happy with the results.
Anyhow for anyone who wants to do something like this its important to know that you basically don't learn and dont improve doing this. So I really suggest that you don't try this unless you just wanna grind at you limit for a short span of time which my plan is for the moment.
You don't become a better player doing this and you can't do this at 50nl and think it also work at 200nl. You HAVE TO be a better player to move from 50 to 100 and to 200nl and so on and for that you have to focus on your game and improve. But if you are already beating 400nl or 200nl for a good sample and you just need a change in life style and you wanna make some cash this is a good way to do it while relaxed at home watchin a movie. Or atleast thats how it is for me.
Btw I also made like 300k FPP this month if anyone is intrested in that data.
For dec Im not gonna play for the first 2 weeks since I have exams and after that Im gonna go to Toronto and Dubai and then school starts over again. Im not gonna make it to elite this year but I managed to clear the last milestone bonus($7500) which was nice.
Edit: I forgot to mention that my plan for now is to improve at doing this since I highly belive I can do the same thing at a higher winrate since almost all my loosings are due to some tilt which is a huge factor when 24 tabling. Almost all my upswing are are 5PTBB/100 (even the one thats around 80k hands sample)which I think it highly attainable at 200nl while 24tabling if I don't tilt like a monkey.
In 2 hrs Im supposed to be taking off from sydney airport to bangkok.
Spending 3 weeks in thailand, maybe 1 of which I will visit Cambodia. Will decide later.
Me my brother and a friend are going.
poker: ive lost shitloads of money. (after exams tilt, proves no good to me) more than half of my bankroll in few days. Now im down to something like 800 bucks. Will have to grind back up once im back. Fu**ing dissapointing.
Anyway should be a blast in Thailand! See ya's when im back on 25th Dec.
The road to recovery includes some interesting hands:
Such as this: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/323486 55 Against an in-line reg. I instant-called flop and small-value-bet river in an attempt to represent AK TPTK. One of the most well-played hands in my life.
~As an aside~ http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/323572 QTs I decided to take another shot at this predictable reg with a speculative hand that I have a soft spot for
i just submitted a 20 page project report. wow, i'm glad that's over. only 1 more exam, an 8 page paper, and a presentation left...
i played/ran well in october at 3/6-5/10. i've barely played this month (3k hands, maybe) and i was playing pretty shitty in the 5/10 full ring games. i also played some PLO which was a horrible idea because I really don't like that game, I don't think it's nearly as interesting as NLH, but it can be fun if you like gamboll. but of course i ran like hell and lost a bunch. yay.
anyway, probably gonna put in a bunch of hands at 2/4 once school ends. i haven't even thought about poker in weeks (school...), which was probably good since I was losing, lol. anyway I wanna start out a level i'm comfy at, even tho i have enough BR to play 3/6. if i start playing consistently again i'll probably move back up to the 3/6-5/10 games after a while.
ok...
oh, i'm going to vegas this winter. uh, dec 28-jan 5 i think. I'm actually going there to go rock climbing (weird, huh?) but I'll certainly gamboool a bit too. anybody going to be out there around that time that wants to meet up should give a holla.
So I'm in Costa Rica again. Quick 2 day trip (well 1 full day here) for some business meetings. I don't want to be here. Yes, Costa Rica is great, but San Jose sucks. I don't like having to come all the way down here for quick business meetings where all I get to see is a hotel room, a conference room, and the inside of a cab while riding around a polluted city. If I'm in Rica I want to go to the beach, but my last 3 trips here haven't taken me anywhere near one.
I go home tomorrow. Fly all day, land, sleep, then wake up and start the Xmas tour. I have a lot of family I have to see every year around this time, so it's tour time. It goes a bit like this:
December 1st - Fly to Trinidad (Caribbean) and do a 10 day boat trip on my uncles catamaran. This will be awesome, except no poker for a bit. That's fine, glad to have a break, but also slows my progress, which sucks a bit. Plenty of time to read, look over old PT hands, and watch High Stakes Poker episodes though, hehe. Between wakeboarding, snorkeling, and sailing around, there's actual lots of down time.
December 10th - Come back to colorado. Spend 4 days at home with my mom and brother.
December 15t - Fly to DC to visit family. Always a good time, and my Grandma is an amazing cook.
December 22nd - Fly back to colorado. Got screwed here cause of how the tickets were set. Spend the night, repack, then...
December 23rd - Fly to Michigan. visiting family there for Xmas. Again, another great time. My mom is one of 6 children and I'm the oldest of 12 grandchildren. It's a fucking crazy gathering of family every year.
December 30th - Fly back to colorado to enjoy new years with friends. And the travel ends!
Tentative: January 15th - Move to costa rica. Still dunno if this will happen, but work may require me down here.
Dunno how much poker I'll get in this month but I'd love to be playing solidly in NL100 by the end of December, ideally being up in NL200 before I move to Costa Rica. We'll see how much I get to play, how well I play and how the cards treat me.
As far as the cards go, this last month they've gone very nicely. They kicked my ass in the beginning, but at the end they paid me back handsomely. Here's my November results:
Anyone know for sure who that girl is? I just think the two of them looks so alike that they have to be related. They have the same smile, the same nose and the same eyes. If I didnt know better, I'd say they're twins
Anyways, just procrastinating while working on my paper. That is all
-exams this month. i battled a little... didnt do much work during semester so had to cram like crazy. got my results back and got one pass (4) two credits (5) and 1 distinction (6) so pretty happy, GPA of 5
-POKER this month. hmmm. made another $180 playing full ring NL10 but the biggest poker event was moving up to NL25. i think i did pretty good, but got jewed by variance... see this graph for proof!!

hmm thanks to thehuhu, yomer, kimchan, occasionally baal oh and of course neilly thats the only reason i visit this site nowdays besides hand histories ^_^ thats all i can think of right now
ok, so PT doens't work for me anymore so that kinda sucks since I've had a pretty braggish month. I'm up just over 10k Euro and before my site changed currency I was up like 5.5k USD, so that should be a total about 20k or so + rakeback. Havn't played that much either so I guess you could call it a sick heater. I've made some pretty nice moves but also improved my game a lot. I think that my game is fundamentally much better now then before so hopefully I won't run at 33/30/7 or w/e in Fayth's DB much longer^^.
I've also found a pretty fun homegame, pretty lowlimit (2/4 SEK which is like NL50 or something) but sick fun. So far I'm down like 8 bi in 2 sessions. Sick fun.
