Well shit.. by tloapc, December 17

I haven't blogged in awhile, so decided to blog about today. Instead of cashing out today, I decided to try something genius and little different. I'd try 1/2 for max of 2 buyin loss. If I went up, I'd keep playing, if I lost 2 buyins, I'd stop, and go back to good ol .5/1 and below

So I'm sure you can guess the outcome....
What got me is how fast it happened, hit some variance pretty fast, only 570 hands.
Hell, enough talk, I'll just post my stuff

bleh
gotta love greed
least my money aint scared - enjoy!~

yayyy so back to the reality of the good ol grind
lesson learned, for now

Last Night in Vegas by JonnyCosMo, December 17

So last night I played a fairly long session of $2/5 an $5/10. 5/10 went pretty poorly in my first session, and I thought I played one hand somewhat bad but given the information I had at the time it might not have been too bad. Basically what happened was I saw this old guy raise 2 pots in a row then reraise and show K9s vs this other guy so I viewed him has a gambling aggro player, instead of what was really true about him: Super tight / nit / scared old fart that happened to have taken a sick bad beat before I sat down so he steam raised K9s to show the guy who beat him. After I ate and grabbed some coffee I played a lot with my good friend Poker Pro Ann (but I think her nickname is going to have to change to Ann the Insomniac since she almost never sleeps). Anyways, we sat at a juicy $2/5 game with a bunch of complete idiots that were drunk. The following went down:

There was this one kid who was the self-proclaimed best player in the poker room by far. He was going on and on...and on...and on about how HUGE his edge was over the table we were sitting at. So I look over at Ann and she is rolling her eyes, and we kinda give each other that "Let's see who can fuck with this idiot the most" smile. So the kid opens to $25, Ann flat calls, I'm on the button with 42o, I make it $120. Kid insta-folds AQ face-up with a look of disgust on his face saying something along the lines of "I wish I could pick up the cards some of these guys are getting." Ann quickly folds and I table the 42o face-up with a smile. JonnyCosMo = 1 - Loud Idiot = 0. An orbit later I pick up AKs, he raises again and I reraise in the small blind to $120, he quickly calls. Flop comes K-5-3, and I bet $105. He insta-ships in $500 and I snap call, and he turns over 65o. Turn and river blank, ship the moneys. JonnyCosMo = 2 - Loud Idiot = 0. So the idiot stands up to go to the ATM, then comes back 30 mins later with a wad of small bills which tallied up to $647 total. The really nice guy playing next to me (his name was Matt) chuckled saying that it looks like thats the end of his bankroll. LOL I wasn't going to say it, but good call Matt! Ann ended up taking a big chunk out of this kid's stack, and once Marshall28 sat down and started to raise / reraise every hand the kid was in he quickly realized he was getting tooled and shut his mouth. After a couple hours, Marshall28 once again got sick of my constant abuse of his opening raises and my table position on him so he decided to pick up the seat to the left of me, to which I responded by taking his old seat (which was right next to the loud idiot). At this point the loud idiot reevaluated his view of my game and started talking to me about everyone else at the table, referring to them as "they". He proceeds to name drop a bunch of known players and online handles, and I'm just trying to tune him out until he says: "I know peachy keen, he is a good friend of mine." So I'm like, oh how do you know him? And he starts going off saying that him and peachy talk on the phone all the time and stuff, (and at this point he thinks that all I know about peachy is that he plays high stakes online) and obviously alarms are going off in my head that this kid is just 100% stuffed with shit. So after about 5 minutes of talking about how well he knows peachy (and me egging him on to tell me more) I asked him one simple question: "What's peachy's real name?" To which he insta-reply's "Matt Keen" to which I insta-reply back "You, sir, are a retard. Have a nice day." GG conversation.

Around that time I see Carmel (yes I fucked the name in my last blog post, her name is Carmel not Camill), walk into the poker room so I go up and watch her and Lyric play some 5/10 short handed for a little bit. After gathering information previous to meeting her again, I realized playing her heads-up in the Venetian would probably not be a very plus EV move on my part since she stated that her main game is heads-up (she placed 13th in the WSOP event that Rekrul won this summer), so we chatted a bit before I headed back to play my game. Oh, for those of you who wanted a picture, this is the girl I'm talking about:

http://www.babesinpoker.com/images/Babes/Carmel-Petreco/carmel_petresco_4.jpg

So I just end up playing 2/5 for most of the night (since I was pretty cash broke at this point), and went to sleep at around 6am. Sorry, no epic showdown with Danile Alaei's super blond telepathic girlfriend because I'm a pussy

variance ugh by whamm!, December 17

today was especially bad. vs halfstacks i usually go broke with tptk on a non scary board on the turn esp if i have position, but omg villains had sets practically every fucking time lol. not even halfstacked ones, just the 1/3 stack ones, i couldnt believe it. hand of the day was aces with i raised 12bb from blinds with 3 limpers and 2 guys quickly call, then a low card flush draw flop wherein i just shoved flop, hoping to get a call from jj 1010 qq kk, well the set(77) called so gg.
spew of the day was a midpair ace flush draw on flop on an unraised pot. my mistake for just getting it in right there.
other than that today was just variance day for running very decent the past 3 days. ill play another session later in the day and check if things have leveled off after 4k hands of bad spots for me, thank god the 50usd bonus cushioned the 3bi loss today. gtg.

Owned at 2nl by KwarK, December 17

I had a successful weekend at 25nl after moving up. However pokertracker reported me down a buyin at 2nl so feeling that was a little silly I decided to play a little. And it's raping me. I'm like wtf rofl.
Undersets, flopped flushes vs overflushes and crazy 2 pairs > me.
At least I'm working off all my bad luck where it doesn't matter.
This about sums it up.

SHOOTING STARS NEVER STOP, EVEN WHEN THEY REACH THE TOP
THERE GOES A SUPERNOVA, WHY DON'T YOU PUSHOVER

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338985 - TYTYTYTY

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338919 - Cooler city, I seem to always be on the right end of these hands (luckbox obv).

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338980 - Was gonna insta stack-off here, lucky he played it this way..

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338975 - Yeah, I run good.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338962 - Ty?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338961 - Sucks for him (I run good).

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338913 - God, it feels good when your 'FUCK YOU' calls work. I couldn't win a hand vs this guy since he wouldn't ever fold and I couldn't make a pair - ever.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338907 - Wee.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338906 - When he minraised it was one of those *Sigh, I guess I push* moments.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338916 - I wasn't involved in this hand but it was pretty funny.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338897 - Getting this flop when you are tilted is annoying.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338890 - This guy c/minraised me every single time I played a hand vs him so I decided to call down.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338863 - This was fun. I raise, get 3bet, fold. I raise, get 3bet, fold. I raise, get 3bet, I have kings, I 4bet (cause I probably look tilted). He has aces.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338849 - Oops. Lucky flop
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338846 - He's either a genius or a retard. Must be my maniacal 14/11 stats that set him off (yes, that's what I was running at that table).

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338840 - WEe.

3 funny (tilty) hands vs some 35/9/0.6 guy
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/339020 - "He can't have an 8" (tilt)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/338841 - ".. Uff, I guess he could have a worse 2 pair, I push".
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/339021 - "Hm, this is weird, he played his sets differently and sets and trips are kinda similiar, I'll call".

$4 180 man SnG by NeillyJQ, December 17

Today I deposited $35 and played 5 various tournaments, a $10 20k gntd, a $5 rebuy, a $3 horse tourney, and a $4 180 man SNG.

I managed to finish 1st in the 180 man SnG for $216 which is sweet.

On the 23rd of december I get another $150 plus a bonus that will be released via the FPP I make.

Looks like alot of time at NL10 and probably 2 $4 180 man SnG's going at all times during my sessions.

I've had a real ego check after my last run, I'm hoping to play more within my means, we'll see if it lasts.

I've learned how not to care about the money but have also learned that the money is important and game selection is very important.

I'm going to start 12-18 tabling NL10 tomorrow.

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

I really don't like to whine, but this is just pure bullshit (I also suck, tbh):

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3141/beztytuuzg0.jpg

Non-poker-wise, I started to train pool billiard really hard. I had been playing this game for 5 years, stopped playing a year ago and now I'm back and I'm working on my game harder than ever. My goal is to play in the Polish Championships next year (if I stay in Poland after the summer). This is going to be a tough thing to do, but I really hope I can make it.
I look forward to running a bit less cold at poker and finally having a big enough roll to take a shot at NL100 (and hopefully staying there for a long, long time).

Cya,
Kapol

Worst hand ever by bigbb33, December 17

Played one of the worst hands I've ever played just now. I was one tabling too, so now excuses. Just never play with the laptop touchpad, I guess.

Anyway, the hand:

I am playing loose, 30/25 or something. I open UTG with ATo. CO, who is playing 17/14, 3bets me. Folds to me.

Here's what I know.

1. CO is 17/14, that's tight
2. I've played 25-30 hands so far and he's never 3 bet anyone.
3. V few people 3bet light at 50nl. In fact, almost nobody does.
4. He is likely smart enough to know my UTG range is rather tight.

Using all this information, I come to the brilliant conclusion that I should 4bet him, try to steal the pot. Absolutely brilliant deduction.

Anyway, I 4bet his $6 3bet to $16. He thinks for 10-12 seconds, then calls. This should be a warning sign for me, but I'm brilliant, so who gives a fuck.

Flop is 774. Driest possible flop for 4bet hands, at a stake where nobody 4bets. I now decide to cbet $20 into the $32 pot. Why? His range for calling my 3bet is likely QQ+, maybe JJ, and probably AK. There are 16 ways to have AK, 6 to have pocket pairs. If he has QQ+, then he has 18:16 QQ+:AK. If he has JJ+, then it's 24:16, or 4:3.

My cbet has to work about 1/3 of the time to break even. Actually, thinking over the math, the cbet wasn't horrible, as I really think he folds AK there.

Either way I cbet, he shoved for $16 more into what would be a $100 pot if I called, and I folded.

Wow. That's epic bad. Worst preflop play, ever.

If someone wants to comment on the cbet, I'd like it. I actually thought it was horrible right after the hand when I realized my 4bet was horrible, but now that I think about it and hand combinations it actually seems profitable. Is my math wrong? Are you really as likely to get dealt AKs/AKo as you are QQ+?

Looking at some site's, it actually seems if he has JJ+ and AKs/AKo in his range, the AK will be 1/3 of his hand range. Therefore if he folds 100% of the time vs my cbet with AK, it's actually about =ev to do so. Kind of surprising, actually.

Anyway I fucked this hand up preflop massively, wow.

Flame me harshly in the comments to cleanse my soul.

Beg FrozenArbiter when in trouble by Malmis, December 17

So NL10 was going somewhat sucky:
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8710/beforemj9.jpg
and i had a hard time finding leaks in my game etc

But then i thought;
"hmm don't i have this frozenarbiter(tianyuan) guy on msn..
maybe i should beg him to teach me some poker"

So i played a couple of sessions with him watching and giving feedback over msn
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/9093/faisgoodxc1.png
(i think he observed me playing the first 1.5k hands)

ship :-)

I guess the plan for December is to play 2k hands/day 6tables 6max or untill im rolled for nl20, whichever is faster

And then i will move to some site with rakeback

/Henrik

Oh also: i know fa irl, so don't hate me for asking him for free lessons
