Hi all.
So I've decided to start a blog, detailing my efforts at online poker.
At the moment I'm playing only on the PokerStars network, in micro stakes cash games.
I realise this may not be the best reading for some LPers, but nevertheless, here goes.
So I've played Play Money games on PokerStars for around 6 months now, up until my 18th birthday, and have read many posts by fellow LPers on various topics. After building up a Play Money balance of several million on PokerStars, I decided to deposit some left-over cash in my bank account into PokerStars, to experience a new challenge, and possibly win some cash on the side.
So my first deposit on PokerStars was $500, and I planned to start out at the $0.05/$0.10 cash tables. I developed multi-tabling skills during my play money days, so I planned to 8-table this limit, hence the large deposit relative to the limit, and I also didnt wanna have to keep reloading.
So I've played a few sessions now, but have only recently discovered how to save hand histories to my computer. Out of about 3000 hands at $10NL, my bankroll is now at $575.
In future posts, I will try to include some notable hands from sessions of play.
Well thats it for now, gl all, and I might see some of you at $10NL!
Goal Reached: $200 BR on Stars!by jchanhm, January 03
I'm sitting nice and happy with a BR of $211.69 on Stars right now, after a really tilty two hour session. I started off the night at $194, but it was just a rollercoaster on 5NL and 10NL tonight. I dropped to $170 at one point, which, now that I think about it, is really nothing at all, but at the time it felt like I was two steps away from tilting off a third of my roll.
I started playing the LAG style I've been developing, but it seemed like my c-bets were being reraised every other hand, on every table. I started to tilt, where I'd call those reraises, fire a second barrel on the turn and then fold in disgust, or 3-bet the flop and then fold when they shove all in. At one point, I looked and saw that I had lost $10 in like 20 minutes, and I told myself to stop playing like a donkey and play proper poker. But I was still steaming, so I played my marginal hands super aggressively, and what made it worse was it seemed like when I lost big pots, they were not only because I played poorly, but on top of that, they were bad beats. For example, I had QA in the blinds, 3-bet the button. Flop came 4QKr. I bet pot, he calls. turn is a 8, putting two hearts on the board. I bet pot again, he calls. River is a Jh. I shove for half the pot, he calls with JJ. Then there's the standard AA versus set, KK versus set...
About halfway through I was down to $170 from the QA hand. I stopped for a second, and then said to myself, LAG is not working tonight, for whatever reason, so don't force it. I switched to "TAG" mode, tightened up considerably, and then for some reason all of my good hands held up, and people started calling me to showdown with third pair, and angels started singing from the heavens and animals gathered in twos outside my window to rail. Then Abraham Lincoln put his gigantic hand on my shoulder and looked me wordlessly in the eyes for what seemed like ages before he nodded, turned sharply, hopped into his batmobile and roared away over the horizon.
this is a follow up for mostly myself to keep track of wins and losses for nights. Feel free to post any replies if you want. But tonight was not bad no SnG wins but not bad 7/8 places so a good night on the 1.20 tourney tables. 1 3rd place and 6 2nd places for a profit of 8.40 for the night. not trying to push my luck even though i should run some more tables. But i felt the same way about this last night after many wins on this level playing the SnG tourneys to come upon 7/8 losses last night i think its time to call it quits and play again tomorrow after work. Leaving my small sad bankroll at 76.30 towards the quest at millions lol
till next time

Guess Lee loves me a little bit more now for making some rake.
The people, however, seem to love me:
This guy picked just the wrong moment to bluff shove, what did he think I had? If he'd done it on the flop I might have believed him.. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/351742
I have my idiotic moments too: This guy is a complete fish, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have a hand -_-; His stats were 67/1/3 http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/351754
a) Evangelicalists stick together. No, really, its like skull & bones.
b) I hate evangelicalists because they choose someone based on their faith and not on their criteria, although I am not conservative so what should I care?
b #2) What's wrong with Mormons? I have a friend who is mormon and he is the best person I have ever met.
c) I'm glad to be living in SoCal because I can barely stand 45 degree mornings.
d) Barack Obama said he would start a war in Iran. Iowa voted for Obama. Therefore, Iowans love war.
e) It is fucking ridiculous what candidates will do to get people to vote for them. I saw on TV that people working for the candidates went so far as to go door-to-door to offer rides to potential voters.
Here with Mike aka nutshot for the Winter Poker tournaments. Today was the $340 6 max with 120 entrants. Stayed up all last night grinding the 100 max just to get like warmed up to live pokeraments. Just finished chopping the tourney 8 ways for 2.4k. Tomorrow is the $550. I am officially exhausted and haven't slept in 31 hours but it's well worth it now. Played some really sick hands as the tournament had a fucking sick structure and allowed for alot of play and creativity. Mike racked up +$500ish in the 5-5 NL game so we're both doing pretty well since he had half my action in the tourney. Ship ship IMO. Plaster my name on cardplayer thx.
Ran really bad at 3/6 today. Everyone just kept on raising me for some reason. Tables were full of regulars and barely any fish yet I still played which was a bad idea. Ugh poker is so hard now.
Figured I'd do a brief resume of this year, mainly for me, to set up new goals or reafirm old goals.
Also because I've become really lazy with poker, how do you motivate yourself to play everyday? Maybe I just need a break a hopefully this new trip (from 4th to 10th January) will freshen me up to completely grind this new month.
I also have a REALLY lousy memory t.t
2007
January
Started with 50$ free from pokerstrategy. I spend the whole month basically reading about poker strategy and learning about the whole poker world, and playing little.
February
Won couple 6$ tournaments to get my money up to 700$, only to lose it all after tiltint on NL25 finishing off at NL200.
March
From the 40$ or so I had left, regrinded NL5 into NL10 and soon NL25 again. I was purely 6-max player.
April
Can't win NL25$ !!! WTF!!! Started to visit LP.net frequently.
Got help from Yugless and capaneo for FREE! <3. Also got to talk to them on MSN for poker and general discussions
May
Started to play on pokerstars with 70$ br (left my 800~1000$ rest of party earned br on my bank account) from NL10 again, got to 1.1k br in a short period of time on NL25 and did some NL50.
June
Cashed out all from ps (Around 1200$) and deposited like 700$ on noiqpoker thx to my friends Kalle and Jussi <3.
Started at NL20$ but after 2 days or so I started NL50 with 800$+ br, never went down again, won enough to take shots at NL100.
July
Played almost exclusively NL100 6-max, took couple shots at NL200. Can't win at 6-max!! "IM TOO UNLUCKY" At the end of the month I decided I will try Full ring. Made around 3k that month so br : around 6~7k *I think*
Also around the start of the month I got Nolan MSN, and 1 hour lessons from him, it wasn't free tho 3! It made me realize that 1 hour lessons are a waste of time, if you wanna learn from someone you need to spend several hours discussing and playing.
August
Started to play FR NL50 at first but soon after NL100. Run good, played decent (kinda bad actually). Started NL200 FR as well when I hit 10k br.
It was the first time in my pokerlife that I was able to win 1k$+ in a day, made like 4 or 5 of those days too.
September
Great month, up more than 6k$ the first 10 days and then the heater kinda stopped, didn't lose but didn't win THAT much either, I decided that I needed someone to teach me how to play poker properly, since I realized I really didn't have a clue.
October
Beautiful October, I will remember you.
Turning point. Got coaching from D_Zoo the whole month <3 to start playing the NL400 tables regularly. br around 25k I guess. Just owned the tables and made like 27k including rakeback (but excluding what I had to pay D_Zoo, still <3 tho)
Also got shaneomac MSN, he was also a D_Zoo student at the time, we still share poker hands and experiences
November
Not that good a month at first, I didn't play that much either, kind of in a dowsing I guess, still at the end made 10k+rakeback.
The best thing was that I won a EPT ticket so I get to go to either Germany, Poland or Denmark to play, on 2008.
Took soome succesful shots at NL600, and non succesful shots at NL1k.
December
Solid month too. I became a regular at the NL600 tables and I kept winning there like a madman, I think my all time bb/100 at those tables is like 22 over like 4k hands which isn't that many hands AT ALL but still pretty nice lol.
Also played like 1k hands at NL1k, breaking even =[.
I think got like 22k+ profits overall including rb which is nice.
2008
So! GOALS :
- Finally be a NL1000$ winner.
- Definetly get another coaching deal for this level (NL1k) if possible. Has to be a serious and dedicated coach like dear D_zoo tho!
- Climb up to NL5k hopefully by the end of the year!
- Win at an EPT or WSOP event (I will most likely be attending WSOP this year!).
Hello everyone,
I like reading your blogs and I finally decided to make my own.
First of all, please forgive me for my english. It´s not good, but I´ll try to improve it.
So I´m 19 years old and i´m from Czech Republic.
I have played poker about one year, now I play at bwin and Cdpoker, my best age in my poker "career" was i summer and part of fall.
I started on Cdpoker with 30 euro PokerRoomSchool bonus, and quickly made 200 in 5+0,5 ( it is not good example of bankroll management i know).
So i moved to 10+1 sng and my BR grew to 450 euro.
I was proud of myself and i made 200uero cash out, I still played 10+1 sng and when I was 450 back a moved to 20+2 sng. I cant remember this level exactly, but I know made one another cashout 200 euro and than I was bankrupt. SICK.
Than I sent 200 euro (about300USD in that time) to FullTiltPoker and started new age of my playing :-).
I played 10+1 sng, there was slowly blind structure, I think I helped me.
I really quickly( 5days) won about 500 USD in this sng, and I moved to 20+2 and in two weeks i broke this limit and move to 30+3 with 1200 USD BR.
In this level it was more difficult to won some money for my, but my BR grew to 1500 USD, but it was my roof.
I can not won anything more, and there started my huge downswing, I lost about 600 USD in 30+3 and 20+2 sng.
I took i break for a 3 days and than I cashouted all money.
Than I sent 400 to TitanPoker, but I was on tilt still and i lost it for a week.
I was disgusted for my play, I played really really bad in this time. So I decided to took a longer break than 3 days :-). I played one month only freerolls on ongame ( bwin, casinoeuro...).
Perhaps 10-15th December,I won some little money in freeroll on bwin, maybe 3 USD and I tried MAdTiltALL 1k gar.
In first hand I got KK and busted 4 players :-).
and I won same other hand and suddenly, I was on final table and in 15 hands I won this tourney and won 317 USD. It was ultrasuperluck :-)).
But i had to make a 200 USD cash out for Xmas presents.
Since 22th December we had a Xmas holiday, so I had more time to play, I grinded 5+0,5 sng HU on bwin than 10+1, I cleared 2x 50 USD advent bonus and my BR boosted to 350 USD, unfortunately I lost about 150USD in live poker and I needed some money, so another 200 USD cashout.
I still had about 150, but I had a problem with my play after all of my cashouts. I want to win cashouted money back quickly, but it often doesnt work.
I played NL50, HU 10+1, MTT tourneys everything
So I felt down to 12 USD!!!
I stoped playing for 3 days, and after I tried 5+0,5.
I finished 3. 10USD so i continued and made 200 USD back and this it end of story :-)
I was on 1st Jan.
If u read my story to end I wonder u really.
