Celeb Crush: Shiri Applebyby JonnyCosMo, February 10
Had to post this before I went to sleep. I'm terribly sick right now, and am trying to get over this stupid fever so I can go surfing again. Anyways, I totally have a celebrity crush... her name is Shiri Appleby, the star of the not so hit sci-fi series Roswell (even thou it's one of my favorite series of all time). She is also in that pretty terribly made movie called Swimfan, the suspenseful triller based around...swimming? Ooooh scary! But please, lets not judge Shiri on her less than stellar acting skills, or the lack of fame from all the roles she has played which have ended sour ... Because when it comes down to it... she is fucking beautiful:
Clip from the ABC show "Six Degrees", she plays a side character named Anya
I can marry this woman. She is so hot to me and I really don't know why... Btw, can someone please find me a link to the torrent for this season of Six Degrees? I can't seem to find them... I can only get download links to individual episodes which are poorly seeded.
So in my previous blog I wrote about some leaks I think I have in my game, it seems I'm just in a habit of doing these things, whats the best way to get rid of them?
I was thinking of doing pushups every time I realise I do it or doing some arm curls or something like that?
Also chobo if you read this can you PM me with SNG teaching rates?
GLGLGL
Today my friends and i were talking about wayne rooney and i kept trying to tell them about this goal and i was even looking on youtube for it BUT STILL couldn't find it. well i did now Lol
Everything about that goal was wonderful. The kind of goal that gives you chills and makes you really really happy for some reason. :D
Bad beat jackpot at my table againby Oddeye, February 09
Quads vs Royal straight flush, I made 1.2k from the table + something like 1k from my other tables. Pretty lucky and I'm somewhat up so I have 57k and 2.5krb coming. However my cashout by bankwire fucked up only because I entered some wrong info so I'm reprocessing it soon. Btw, did anyone from Canada and/or UB ever cashed out with bankwire - just wanna know if its a good idea/legal to cash out w it.
On life side I've got my training course starting but I don't even feel like doing it because it seems it won't pay compared to poker and I certainly don't like too much what I'm studying it and plan on playing poker after anyway. I'm totally unable to decide if I should focus on poker or finish this since I make good money from poker now. Thought?
Started off so so then things went downhill. Had a few coolers and made a couple of bad calls. I also made a shove that I now realize is bad since the guy never folds.
*Think* I've found a few leaksby jase, February 09
Ok, so after going through some PT stuff I think I've found a few leaks in my SNG game.
- I feel even if I have middle pair top kicker after the flop I'm beaten, I'm folding too much to cont. bets on the flop
- I don't chase flushes/straights enough when the pot odds are in my favour.
- I don't take enough time to think about what an opponent could be holding, I need to play the hand out in my head before making a decision.
- I see bets on the turn/river being huge even though a lot of the time they're only half the pot. Gotta be less scared of these.
- I don't bet big enough after the flop. I let people draw at flushes/straights too cheaply.
- I'm too choosy with what hands I raise pre-flop with, letting too many people in when I'm holding a big hand.
- I don't loosen up enough around the bubble.
- I'm too wary of position, often I won't play AQs in EP.
Here are the facts:
Party Poker gave me 70$ for free! I played some NL10 and turned that into 300$ in one night. Then started NL25 and so forth over the last 2 weeks and now I am @ NL50. I have been destroying the tables on a very juicy site. Not a hole lot of aggressiveness needed to succeed - maybe on NL100.
Since I am back at the tables I want to set myself some goals:
#1 Only play 4-6 tables whenever I play and FOCUS.
#2 Get back to NL100 with a 30+ BI bankroll.
#3 play 30k hands over the next 30 days(starting today).
#4 Post on a regular basis on this blog.
This time I will really push myself because discussing hands and so forth is the only way to GET better in the long run and since I have nobody to talk with(about poker ) in my rL I will stick with LP!
Poker surely will be the main topic here but I will also discuss University life, NBA basketball and some literature(I study Business+ Eng/Am literature).
I am not really sure if a third barrel is appropriate here. I figured that I could represent a flush or JJ/AT and get low pocket pairs to fold. Board paired and the river brought another flush card so no sense in firing again...

I think I have made the correct play on the turn(ignoring the showdown). This guy was 70% vpip and his turn bet just looked so damn weak that I had to punish him. Maybe trying for some pot control next time around...

Villain was very capable of making a squeeze play since he had solid TAG stats. Looked like a weak squeeze play, but turned out to be a pot feeder. What to do in those kinds of spots? I 4 bet and he shoved, felt comitted and called anyway.

Looking at this hand, it makes me want to puke. I would have folded to a river bet. Thanked the gods above for those donks having both a flushdraw and me having a king of diamonds - thus taking away couple of outs.
Overall I feel that I give boatload of value on the river when I play... ned to work on that. Well thats about it. Tell me whether I should post the full hands here or only a link directing it to a hand history page...
I will go to sleep now - tomorrow will be another day. I will talk a little bit about NBA Basketball and other stuff.
lost 2bi of what i initially won(4.3bi). set over set, one spewy move with tptk on a river i could not beat, today first session losing another 2bi to 5 outer and another spewy KK and AK hand against sets. ugh when it rains it pours. I don't like it's effect on my game and I think I wont be playing the rest of the weekend and reevaluate. Pokerstars variance yo. hehe
prolly my run at FR is over almost 13bi over weekend now only 9 left T.T, I think I'll be going back to 6 max and swing to FR again if I'm not afraid of sets anymore lol
Alright after having played 15K hands on 0.02/0.04 tables, i find myself at 2,74PTBB/100hands.
A pretty shitty number IMO, it makes me go :S coz i feel im playing pretty ok.
Anyway, i had the feeling im runnin bad, but i thought everyone feels that way so after noticing that PokerEV, i decided to check my allin winnings and sklansky bucks.
I have no idea if i messed something up, or if its even possible for these figures to 'lie'. I just selected my limits, included all hands and pressed 'play'.
Blah 9 days into Febuary and I am running decent. Today was such a shit hole though. If I ever hated anyone more than I hate moneymakker or w/e that cock blowers name is at 200NL PS let God strike me down with lightning. I'm still alive... Anyhow I've played ~2100 hands today and the day started off awesome, it just turned to shit after losing lots of money on flips/suckouts/coolers. Below are some of my favorite hands from today so far.

I also missed 3-5 combo draws after flatting bets in position and then having the guy shove the river etc. Just one time I would like to hit one of those and snap off his shove. That would make me happyish. O well up 73$ over 2141 hands, down close to 800$ in equity so I will grind later and hopefully run hotter. Good luck at the tables.
I got back from casino after losin 200 bucks and was kinda mad that I ran bad/spewed. So I opened up some nl2 and grinded for like 2 hours. I 4 tabled because my br was 24.xx. Pretty good session, I had a couple flushdraws shoved at me, some were busted ones shoved on river. None hit so it's cool.
I've only been playing poker a couple months, and boy I have a LOT of respect for all you grinders out there. Someday I will learn what it is to cash out
