Last week I went with my wife to a band performance put up by a junior college concert band (The junior college where I did my A levels). It was terrible. I could have sworn they were much better when I was studying there ten years ago.
The instruments were out of time, so when they tried playing the Imperial March from Star Wars, instead of going "pom pom pom" with three tubas blasting and falling silent in unison, they merged into a "pommmffpmmzzmmfffghsl..." like Vin Diesel delivering dialogue.
The "resident conductor" was some young, pompous ass who seemed absolutely full of himself. The kind of guy who deserves to be the bitch of the biggest, baddest guy in cell block 6. His conducting was so flamboyant he alternated between waving his arms like Mr. Bean trying to dance and thrusting his pelvis like he was really enjoying being the bitch of aforementioned biggest, baddest guy is cell block 6.
Then halfway through the alumni band comes out to perform. One has a receding hairline. Another has the kind of glasses that mark him out to be an accountant. The conductor has the shape of a teletubby. Although they only practice together once a week or so, this bunch of old fogeys completely outdoes the school band as they play a simple yet entertaining medley of Barry Manilow's greatest hits (the simply yet entertaining medley that they pretty much play every single time they perform).
It would be unfair to say that it was all a disaster. Because it was a school band performance, the audience was full of 17 and 18 year olds. The girls were all in the "barely legal teens" stage of their lives and the guys were all in the "pimply face and bad body odour" stage of their lives. I was, obviously, the best looking guy in the audience with the most spending power, but my wife was with me so it was strictly see no touch.
So in these last two months, April and May, I've dropped just about 2k at NL50. Yeah how is that possible after being a steady 3bb/100 winner after so many months? I don't know. But somewhere along the way I got brainwashed and forgot completely how to play poker.
So basically my roll got knocked down to ~$250 and my ego did not like this one bit. I had to go back down to NL25 to get my bearings straight. I grinded 2750 hands at fullring today and oh my god is it a grind. Played like 4 hours and got +5 buyins. Whew...
I've got summer school tomorrow so bye bye grind time. I sent out about 10 job applications these past months and didn't get hired. WTF??? Real life is sick. I guess I'm not qualified to give change @ $8/h.
I'm wanting to sell my WoW account for stars money, its nothing special - Euro WoW account with a level 61 hunter on the Sylvanas realm. I dont want much for it, $10 will do but if someone comes along with more i'd be happy to take it ofc
I also have another account with level 70 paladin, 60 warrior rogue and mage... But credit cards are blocked on this account so you will have to use gamecards, meaning you wont be able to transfer characters or anything so its pretty much a useless account.
Neither of the accounts currently have any gametime on them.
I played my best hour today. Made almost 6 buyins, did hit a lot and all my big hands hold up. So that was a lot of fun. Like they always say, dont stop playing when its going great, so i played another hour or so. Lost one hugh pot though, when my straight was countered by a rivered boat, and stopped 550bb up.
Here are some of my first hour hands.
This won't make me look like straate, peachy or any renowned online pro. Still, this is probably the sickest call of my life.
This made me full of myself, grinning from ear to ear

Started off really well, people calling me down really light and stupid, etc...
then BAM, out of no where basically. Got 2 Set v Set(within like 3 minutes of each other) 1 AQh v KQ on a Q-Xh-Xh all in on flop(i had a nut flush draw and TPTK)...rivered a King.
Never really got tilted which is good... just really irritated a bit. only really irritated at the AQ v KQ hand... ridiculous. heres the graph.
playing (not running) but playing good, just broke the $300 border which is pretty sweet.
made it with that hand. was a bit lucky with the last hand but overall i run so bad that i think i deserve it to get lucky once or twice
I am really happy with the way i play at the moment. I beat the shit out of 10's. My roi is over 20% according to sharkscope. I manage to avoid this crazy downswings and make my game more consistent what you can clearly see:
Did i mention that i had to withdraw $80 what makes it more sweet?
There are a few things i would like to write in my next entry about game. Ill post some hands to analyze and stuff. Now i wanted just to brag I know the money are funny but what is important to me is the way i play and consistently going up with stakes and my earnings. These are the things i wanted to master and its going great so far...
So thats all so far. My next entry is gonna be boring (analyse, thoughts obout the game etc.) and quite a long.
Planning on moving to 20+1 when i reach $525. What ya think, should i grind bit more?
Got also new POker Stars plan. MOre soon...
p.s. i followed 25k hu championship on full tilt. pros from 2p2 won so its ok with me but andy bloch got deep and his pussy play and questionable moves made him quite a bunch enemies in the internet world, here more details: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=210772
Current car is on its last legs imo and time for an upgrade.
Looking to spend between 15-20k, taking out a small loan so I don't crush my roll.
Leaning heavily towards a ~2000 BMW 3 series, test drove a 318i the other night and they are nice as hell but I don't know if it was just the one I drove but it really lacked punch. 325's are generally hard to find around here too.
I have a workshop on storytelling to give this Wednesday and quite a bit of work from my full time job to finish up, so I've only played a couple of hours this past week. When I do play I play like a retard because my brain is pretty tired already.
The absolute worst, worst hand I must have played was when I decided to 3 bet someone whose stats were 23/17... after he raised UTG... with JKo! Then the flop comes 9TJ, he checks, I bet and he raises. A real, honest to goodness raise, mind you, not a cbet catching min raise. So I'm thinking he must have an overpair if not a set, but I have top pair and a gut shot draw and I'm a punk and I'm feeling lucky so I shove. Sigh.
Ralik: checks
Karen668 : bets $1.90
Ralik: raises $2.40 to $4.30
Karen668 : raises $4.50 to $8.80 and is all-in
Ralik: calls $4.50
Turn (Pot : $20.15)
River (Pot : $20.15)
Showdown Ralik: shows (a pair of Aces)
Karen668 : shows (a straight, Nine to King)
Karen668 collected $19.15 from pot
Ralik said, "lol......"
Yes, my friend, lol indeed.
After that near train wreck I played for an hour at 2NL FR and was flinging chips into the middle running at about 24/18. Raising 56s UTG and so on... Finally someone decides to "look me up" in his own special NL2 way and this happens:
Karen668 : bets $0.15
gong4da: raises $0.47 to $0.62
Karen668 : raises $4.34 to $4.96 and is all-in
gong4da: calls $2.06 and is all-in
Uncalled bet ($2.28) returned to Karen668
River (Pot : $5.53)
Showdown Karen668 : shows (two pair, Threes and Deuces)
gong4da: mucks hand
Karen668 collected $5.28 from pot
(though villain had a royal flush draw so technically, I suppose I was ahead with a pair of 3s)
Alright so this damn coffee shop that im forced to play at due to no internet connection pisses me off sometimes. The kick me out at 11pm and its soooooooooooooo unstable. Today I had quads on the river in a BIG POT where i was guaranteed a guy with 70 vpips stack he had AT top pair. Sure enough fucking kicked me off and checked the hand back. So sick! Tbhack wanted me to tell funny story from little over a week ago. I was in 6 sngs and right after i started they announced closing in 15 damn minutes... so i was like hyachachachaacha tuff fish style. When they kicked me out i walked around the building frantically trying to pick up a wifi signal. Managed to find one and sat on the ground on cement and finished. Ended up making 100 profit so I was pumped. Anyways all things considered i have been running pretty hot. Today I finished up about 350$ Bringing my roll to 4550'ish. Im beginning to wonder why I didnt just play massively overrolled like 2 years ago.. My life would be so much better... sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.
ps. I played a little 50plo today and won 2 buy ins.. I def suck at it though and dont know what to do in so many situations. I guess i'll keep playing it and watch some vids on cr

About Poker:
This was one of my toughest months, becouse I played more than 1K hands a day on average (I used to play 500 average I think) and presenced sick variance, -1K, +1K, etc...
Got 2, 3 outtered 3 times this weekend (all in in the flop or turn) and lost more than half flips. The more frustating was that Im negative for NL200 and positive for NL400. Shows that variance can slap you hard
