Jan 24, a nice lazy day
  TwistedEcho, Jan 24 2008

Didn't want to play poker today, so forced myself to play a 2 hour session and then took the night off. Plan is to put in a nice 10k session tomorrow, but most likely i will get bored then as well and only put in 7k hands or so. Obv going to end up playing a 15k session on the last day to win this bet at this rate.

Jan 24

Bonus money graph since this blog post is boring (total bet so far)

Jan 23, actually played well
  TwistedEcho, Jan 23 2008

Had a nice fun session of 5k hands when i started playing, everyone decided to go batshit crazy vs me and i just refused to fold which worked ok. Then i played a nice lazy session 16 tabling while i watched TV for a few hours.

Jan 23

Overall Propbet

So just over half way in 10 days, with 8 days left to go. Only 5818 hands per day needed (thats less than 4 hours of 24 tabling a day) so looking good!

Jan 22nd = i suck
  TwistedEcho, Jan 22 2008

So i played maybe the worse poker i've played this entire year, and i have no clue how i didn't lose more money. At least 3 times someone checked a flush to me on the river when they made it and i checkback some TP hand, and twice had boat over boat and they played it about as retardedly as they could allowed me to just flat river and not get stacked... so many idiots out there

I knew it was going to be a bad session when i started, was one of those days where I woke up feeling like shit so went back to bed, and had to force myself to play. Never would play like that usually but its all for the bet. Half the hands were me fucking around with regs doing retarded spewy stuff and only getting caught once, and the other half i had no clue who had raised preflop, what was going on etc so just bet whenever it was checked to me. I'm amazed i'm not down for the day, but it was pretty ugly poker.

Jan 22

And so you can see how horrible/spewy that session was

Jan 22 pokergrapher graph

Hopefully tomorrow i wake up better and actually play good poker instead of whatever i did today, people talk about playing their B game, this was like my F game

Jan 21st update for propbet
  TwistedEcho, Jan 21 2008

So today was sick swingy. I started the sessions dropping two buyins instantly, one probably was bad and other was boring set over set cooler. I then ran ok to finish up 6bi in 5k hands. I stopped for a break and took probably too long off playing, so i decided to put in one last session to get it to 7k hands. Obviously i start the session dropping 4 buyins or so, probably standard - i don't remember them, and then went on a heater to finish up nicely for the day. While i don't care that much about money won while playing, it does need to be over 3ptbb otherwise i autolose, and if i suck at 100nl fr you guys will laugh at me I'm still experimenting with raising ranges, handling nit opens/3bets etc I probably play a bit too passive - i tend to coldcall a bunch preflop where i maybe should be 3betting and im just autofolding a ton of hands to 3bets, against lots of players i just fold AK and JJ oop (and QQ a fewtimes!) Still haven't folded KK preflop, but certainly think i might do at some stage.

Anyway, i should be up for a few hours and i've had enough playing - if enough people mention in the comments thread they'd like to see some actual poker content and hands, i will do a quick recap of todays big hands since the session was fun and swingy. If like me, FR hands bore the hell out of you and you only are reading this in the hopes i fail - thats cool too and i'll just watch a movie or something!

Graph Time!

Jan 21

And my pokergrapher graph too since it was a nice fun swingy session

Propbet update for weekend
  TwistedEcho, Jan 20 2008

So i went out over the weekend and didn't manage to play enough hands. I figured this was likely to happen at some point, so i'm going to attempt to put in some decent sessions the next few days just to get ahead of my hand target and have the bet locked up before the end of the month. Its certainly possible i'll get bored/drunk and not play a few days over the rest of the month so need to allow for that really - i might kill myself if i don't win this damn bet.

Jan 18th

Oops went out drinking, so played no hands.

Jan 19th

Urgh stupid day - got allin overpair vs underpair like 5 times and won 1, this bet sucks even more when i'm running bad too. I don't get how full ring grinders do it day in day out, i've only played a lazy 30k hands now and i still don't really enjoy it or want to put in long sessions.

Jan 20th

Again slept in really late and missed all the sunday mtts anyway, so figured i'd put in a nice long session. Twice had someone call me down for a buyin on like a KT54cc board with 77 when i was semibluffing nut flush. Some people just never will fold any pair in the hand, almost as if they don't even see the board cards. Still not totally used to being a FR nit, half the time i'm valuebetting they snapcall with some ridic strong hand, and often when i have a monster and they have a bigger monster we don't get allin since they are either too busy slowplaying the hand till everyone falls asleep, or checkcalling down with sets when i have top2 and trying to get allin! I have triple barrel bluffed with no outs a few times successfully - you just have to pick the right opponents and good boards to do it, but otherwise i've given up trying to make people fold.

CURRENT STATUS WITH PROPBET

So that means i have 11 days to go, and 66708 hands, so thats 6064 hands a day. Time to step up and get some 10k hand a day sessions i guess.

Played enough hands, didn't win any money though!
  TwistedEcho, Jan 17 2008

Well i guess it works out ok since the main goal of this bet is just to play hands. I started a quick session after i'd gotten up and ate/got dressed and was doing ok until the internet began to lag and i timed out every so often on 4-5 tables. I think this lead to some tilt, along with my fav hand yet of the day:

+ Show Spoiler +

He said it was a herocall, fairly heroic i admit but dshfdsjfkhdsf he can die!

So anyway spent a few hours offline and wasn't even sure if i was going to play anymore today, but rallied back and played a nice 5k hand session once the internet started working again. I got bored by then and stopped, hopefully tomorrow the net will work all day and i can get in a nice 7k+ hand day to get myself caught up. Planning to probably take sunday off playing FR and do the sunday donkaments still assuming im on target.

Jan 17th (first losing day zomg!)

Jan 16th
  TwistedEcho, Jan 16 2008

Was going to number the days, but forgot what day i was up to! Was planning to play another hour or two, but my housemate is gay and downloads childporn 24/7 and killing my internet. I timed out three times last session, and it just tilts me too much to find tables im sitting out on, so called it a day. Didn't quite hit my daily quota but once i get him to stop killing the internet i should be able to make up the few hands i didn't get done.

Jan 16th

Here is my current progress so far:

Jan 13th - Jan 16th

and for people that care about pokergrapher graphs and stuff like that...

First two days of the bet!
  TwistedEcho, Jan 16 2008

FOR DUMB PEOPLE LIKE JYANG: I AM DOING A PROPBET, 100k HANDS BY END OF JAN. I FIGURED ID BLOG IT SINCE KET SAID IT SOUNDED INTERESTING!

Since i started this a few days ago, i figured i'd recap the last few days so you know where im at. I'm probably not going to post hands since FR hands bore the hell out of me, but if people demand for hands i guess i could post a few.. this blog probably won't be interesting at all since its going to be all graphs and no strategy or actual content, but maybe you'll like that.. who knows!

So the 13th i basically spent working out what layout i want, sorting scripts and stuff like that. I have three 20' monitors to play on, but i found looking from one end to the other while 24 tabling was too much effort. I'm now playing on two monitors without resizing tables or cascading, and basically have four columns of 5 tables overlapping.

I also am using a betpot script customised so when i right click on a table it bets pot (+1bb for limpers) and when i press my scroll button it folds my hand. Also moving the scroll button up/down adds or subtracts one sb to change postflop betsizes easily (default is just set to pot). I have yet to missclick press the scrollbutton and fold a good hand, but i have folded AA/KK preflop a few times just not paying attention, or timing out.

I also use an autoreload script which i changed to autoreload when i got down to 90bb (it was set to do it everytime i dropped below 100bb, but that made my tables lag and i would timeout) Instead when i hold my mouse over a table and press Ctrl it reloads for me, and doing one table at a time like that i can keep most of them at 100bb+ and it doesn't lag. I have some other random scripts, one buys me in for 100bb and bypasses all the random popups when i click on a reserved/open seat, and another highlights my current active table with a big red border so i know which table i need to act on to get the next one to popup and stop them all timing out.

Because i wasted all my time doing this, and generally not playing i played pretty much no hands. I had 19 days to complete this challenge, so needed to play 5264 hands a day.

Jan 13th

Jan 14th

Damnit im still really lazy, and only managed to play for 2 1/2 hours this day... maybe i'll have to give up midway and attempt to buyout

Jan 15th

Finally got my grind on, and actually played some hands. Hopefully will have more days like this!!

So thats 11307 hands played in three days, fairly bad but i'm finally getting used to playing full-ring, and also 24 tabling without timing out everywhere so much. This leaves 16 days to go, and 88693 hands to go, which is 5544 hands a day for people too lazy to get the calculator tool out. I'm also averaging 1500 hands an hour playing the speed tables only (when they have enough running) so should be about 60hours of play assuming i don't get lazy and take too much time off.

For anyone reading this, let me know if its actually interesting enough to update daily, otherwise i'll just update every few days.

I'm a propbet fish
  TwistedEcho, Jan 16 2008

So i suck at propbetting. Not quite as bad as durrrr, but probably close. Basically anytime i have a big edge in a bet, its usually something against a friend and i don't want to take their money and end up not betting (fwiw im fine stacking friends at the poker table - THATS war, but in propbets it feels more like conning them out of money).

I've had a few bad poker related propbets, one a few months ago where i had to play 50k hands 6max in a month (ez money right? I ended up losing by miles, and only by persuading him that i was going to play for 24hrs straight last day was i able to buyout!). I also have lost a few other retarded ones (gave $200 to actionDJ at PCA trying to swim across the marina while he ran around it. Forget the fact im way out of shape AND was drunk, everyone said it was basically impossible for the swimmer.. oops).

So over xmas i had a propbet with a friend who played sngs and swtiched to cash. He was telling me about his pupil struggling at 100nl FR, and i made some comments about monkeys being able to beat it etc... He said in the current games blah blah blah i wouldn't be able to crush it without knowing how the games work, so i took a 20k hand challenge where i had to 24table 100nl fr and have a 5ptbb+, for $5k even money. Seemed free money for me, but while i was playing i mentioned the bet to ket, tom and a few other ppl and they all wanted action against me (wtf they must think i suck!), but i was half way thru and running at like 9ptbb so couldn't really take more action. I finished that bet easily, and while at PCA he offered me a new one.

THE NEW PROPBET

I have to play 100k hands of 50c/$1+ (while i can play higher, it doesn't make total sense) before the end of the month (bet started on the 13th) I also have to maintain a 3ptbb to stop me mass folding lots. It also has to be at FR, which is fine since i don't think i could 24 table 6max easily enough.

I also got odds, my $3k to his $5k. While most of you grinders probably see this bet as easy with regard to hand amount, bare in mind i basically FAILED to play 50k hands of 6max in a month, so this is a fuckload of hands for me. Ket also told me this was interesting enough to blog about (idk, better than not blogging i guess) so i figured i'd provide daily updates so you guys can watch me fail my stupid bet, or be like 20k hands short with one day to go etc...

Also i've not played any FR cash at all, so hopefully will work out where i should be stacking off etc.. Tbh im expecting the 3ptbb not to be an issue (its more to prevent me playing huge long sessions folding every hand to get in more hands) but the main problem will be getting used to 24 tabling, and actually playing enough hands.

Sunday Suicide (MTT DAY!!)
  TwistedEcho, Dec 23 2007

I made it home in time to play sunday tournaments (altho forgot to sleep but nevermind). Am going to play sunday warmup $215 on stars, sunday million $215, FTP warmup $256 (standard 216 tournament but with $40 BOUNTIES!!!!) and FTP normal $215.

I will update hands here and attempt to show what goes on for me in sunday tournaments. IF i can run good, it might be interesting. Otherwise its likely going to be losing lots of coinflips.

Warmup just started now, everything else coming up so feel free to sweat/ask Qs or whatever - or just read my blog

Starting today on tilt, can't find anything on TV to watch - catwoman is the best i can do.... ejkfhdsjkfhsdkjfhsdkjh

Sunday Warmup

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343136 - First hand of interest, raised two limpers and got 3bet by a nitty solid player. Easy fold imo, not good enough odds to set mine, and he has me beat here way too often. His bet is also kinda small for it to be AK, so more likeky QQ+

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343138 - fairly loose raise preflop, but im bored. Flop overcards and a gutshot so CB, and get there on turn so just valuebet.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343139 - very next hand. I was tempted to checkraise the river, but i figured i'd just bet. I don't expect to get called on the river very often, but hes playing a fair amount of hands and i don't have a good enough read that he will bluff the river so just bet bet bet.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343141 - flop the NUTS YO! No action, probably a good thing since hes a nit!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343143 - standard raise preflop, two callers and i choose just to give up. Its an ok board to cbet, but this time i decide not to.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343144 - very next hand get 33 again, this time i cbet since its HU and i just checked down when i missed. Plus if i check its basically letting him have the pot and giving up, and i didnt wish to do that

Folded for two orbits, raised ATo once during that and got 3bet so had to fold. Tournaments are lots of waiting for cards, and being patient, esp early in a tournament. If you aren't getting anything playable, you can just keep folding and wait it out. Clearly your image will be really tight, which should increase your raising range in LP etc, and you should try to keep up a reasonably active image so you do get some action - but if you have 73o, A2o, K6s every hand its fine to just wait. Eventually you'll have to play a hand obviously, but so many newer tournament players just go nuts way before they should out of boredom it seems

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343154 - i fold for two orbits and then pick up a marginal hand to raise. I get 3bet which in general is a standard fold, but its especially a fold when i've not been active at all.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343155 - raise AJ utg and get called by the table fish. The flop comes pretty bad for my hand, but i think his calling range preflop is pretty wide since hes not very good, so i have to cbet. Sadly he has something to push and i just can't call

First break i'm down to 8475, which will be 21bb when it restarts. This is getting close to a good resteal stack, and once i get to 15-20bb i won't be raising with the intention to fold to a reraise too often, since its just too many chips to lose. Instead i'll be raising a fairly solid range, and reshoving where i can a bit light. This table isn't ideal for restealing since the players to act behind me are tight and not that active - but at some tables this would be a good time to look for spots where i can resteal.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343165 - lame spot here, too many chips to shove and KTo on the button is a good hand, but the SB is active and seems fishy and the BB is tight but solid mtt player who has a good resteal stack. Maybe should have just folded this one.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343170 - folded to me in the SB with 9bb, im shoving any2 here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343171 - sick nit opens, but i have 10bb and JJ so i have to shove. I get coldcalled by the bigstack after he thinks for a while, and obv he has AA. GG ME, 1 down 3 to go.

The Sunday Brawl (FTP $256 BOUNTY TOURNAMENT!)

Not going to post all the tiny hands, so far called a few raises with sooted cards and pairs, not flopped anything. Turned a straight from the BB in a tiny pot and everyone folded.. basically nothing happened yet

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343173 - i know this is a small pot, but its getting more aggressive than lots of players would. I don't like to always call down here with the flushdraw, instead i try to play it stronger and just take it down - and i have outs if he calls. Turn bet is pretty standard after raising the flop to get him off his weaker hands

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343180 - strange hand, wasn't sure what he had which makes it lame. I think i was folding if he bet the river and it was a brick, but i think as played its an easy valuebet. I probably should have bet bigger since Jx calls to chop, and QQ/KK call too... i just thought he might call a smaller bet with some random underpair

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343193 - this was a strange hand, i called preflop since my table wasnt too active and i figured a 3bet would look really strong. I flop an overpair on a scary board so obviously have to call once. His turn bet just didnt feel right, so i called again planning to fold to a river bet, but the hand just didnt feel like a strong hand, and i figured he might valuebet JJ or AT here so i looked him up.

5650 at first break (started with 3000) no bountys collected yet

Just busted the brawl, i raise QJo in LP and CO calls, flop comes TT3 and i checkraise allin and he has KK. Didn't update anything cause family came home and little brother is annoying me.

will update again when the million and FTP start

Sunday Million

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343271 - oops started off badly since i was eating. Limpcall preflop seems pretty standard, and flop call is fine but I NEED to lead this turn. Hes checking behind here for potcontrol with too many hands, and other hands. However i was eating and just autochecked, and then river was a thin valuebet and obv he had me beat... lame.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343287 - fairly standard button raise, i figured i'd check it behind instead of cbetting. Turn is a valuebet, and i thought the 9 hits some of his range, and its just a bit too thin to fire again

no interesting hands at all, bled down to 5800 at break

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343313 - last time he minraised my blind he had 89o, hes not going to do it again!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343320 - opponent has been really passive and quiet - hes rarely folding any of his range here to a cbet so i just check fold and he confirms my read. I think i'd be tempted to check fold some pairs like 77/88 here (i'd fold smaller pairs preflop)

today isnt going well lol... got short enough to push, two standard push hands.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343325
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343327

still just over 10bb, need a double up or im gone soon. FTP $216 starting soon, and then my wonderfully awesome sunday ends.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343336 - this was a strange hand, the first guy had open limped a few times , once showing down AA and once QJs. The guy who minraised had been minraising w/ a weak hand over and over so i think i had to push, standard stars worse hand wins etc etc.

Only FTP $216 left !!!!!!!!!!

The Last Hope, FTP $216 (F DONKAMENTS)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/343357 - oops bluffed out this, he INSTACALLED the flop, i was pretty sure he didn't have a ten or an overpair and thought he had flushdraw so decided to triple barrel... sigh
