NL50
  YoMeR, Jan 19 2007

Ok so, this week has been pretty calm and i'm right on schedule to get back to NL100 within this month. I moved up to NL50 sitting on 20 buyins. The first 10 k hands i played during the first half of the week was just lee teasing me and i made a grand total of $3.80 dollarswith a win rate of a whoopin .03bb/100!. I almost thought i'd be held back another week or so. But after today's session I guess i'm still on track.

Ok for general strategy it is pretty much the same strategy i used to crush NL10/25 last week. But I tweaked it a little bit and opened up a little in CO/Button since the players at NL50 are 1000000x nittier so I can often pick up more dead money. So i'll be raising stuff like AT on button/Co with several limpers to thin that field or take down the dead money. I'll probably be raising it close to a psb. If they call, oh well i'm playing a pot vs a monkey with position

One thing really did frustrate me this week tho. I think about 2 days ago i played about a 4k hand session of NL50. I got heads up with some turkey. I lost 2 buyins to him, one being a 50/50 race and one being a complete suckout QQ/99. Now the bad beat doesn't really bother me, and even if he talked shit (which he did) won't really bother me much. But then he just took off. So he gave me the whole combo meal. Fuckin hit n runners are shitty and i hope all of you die in a corner quietly.

I really think taking that one month off after i went broke helped me immensly because even 10k of breakeven gayness doesn't faze me or frustrate me one bit. I made a quick 9 buyins this session in just 3k hands. That shows just how quickly fortunes change.

BR at the end of 2nd week: 1450.

more to come, and if i'm not lazy i'll post some specific hands.

NL10/25
  YoMeR, Jan 15 2007

My first thoughts of comin back here is like "holy fuck i want to kill myself". But it isn't so bad as you find that you can sit at 12 tables and they start handing you stacks of 10 or 25 dollars respectively. I adjusted my game dramatically to more of the ABC style and maybe run a big bluff 1 out of 4000 hands O_O ( even that isn't nessicary it's just out of sheer boredom ).

First week went by as expected and put me right on schedule: to hit NL100 by end of this month.

I had to tweak my play to a lot more passive pre with good drawing hands and much more aggro with premium hands. I did the standard 4x bb + 1 for each limper. folded AQ and lower Utg. But raised up AQ mid pos raised up almost everyone in LP that was in the top 4ish teir of hands. I occasionally 3 bet people that had tendencies to steal blinds on button. And it's probably one of my biggest winning plays as the micro stakes players will fold or call then fold to a c bet on flop. If this works 2 of out 3 times it's break even pre. and if they do call more if they fold at least 1/2 the time on flop it's still + ev. I did a lot more limping than i like but hell, if you hit you get paid off huge. Oh and i think playing Full Ring at the micro stakes might be even more profitable than 6 max. Why? because you can play more hands for less money. Nit down. Hit and still get paid off anyway. And blind stealing is a breeze.

First day: 1-8-07 started with a measly 110 and felt like shit as i was partying the night before. After about ~3000 or so hands i stopped and ended the day at 150ish. No interesting hands at all

2nd day: 1-9-07 Today was quite interesting has my friend you guys all know him as Rush on the forums joined everyone single one of my 12 tables and eventually 12 table HU with me as well. Bad idea for him as i took about 10 buyins off of him and had him donate to the YoMeR needs a bankroll fund. Played about 4k hands today ended the day at around 250~

3rd day: 1-10-07 yawn nothing big today cept 6k+ hands and + 20 buyins. ( i hit a major rush ). ended day around ~ 500ish. There's one specific hand that comes to mind tho. Out of the 10k + hands or so that i played this is the only one that is semi interesting.

This hand is pretty standard actually when I think about it. But i let the clock go down pretty far and was just about to fold it when i was like "this is NL 10 fuck it" And i was about to get 3:1 to boat up anyway ;D GAMBOL TIME. But seriously fold this. With that much action on a multi way pot 1 guy will a straight, 2 guys will have sets and one donkey with over pair.

4th day: 1-11-07 I usually don't like to move up at just 20 buyins so I split tables. For this session i played 8 tables of NL10 and 4 tables of NL25. Nothing much happened except fishes shipping over more buyins. Played about 4k ish hands ended day around 750.

I didn't play much on the weekend except Sat/Sun Played a little on thursday. But all in all played about 20 k hands this week and ended the week at 950.

More to come.

Hrm..

Howdy folks. This might be of interest to you micro stakes players as I went broke last december due to my monkey tilt ( i havn't tilted all last year cept december and all it takes is one tilt sesssion to ruin a bankroll). Anyway I just started playing poker again after a break with 100 dollars last week. Made it into 950 so far. I'll continue to post and track progress and maybe post some hands that might be of interest to micro stakes players and maybe help them out.

I forgot just how easy these micro stakes were tho ;D

Note: i have gone broke at least a good 7 times in the years that i've played. A combination of bad Bankroll management and tilt. Mostly bad bankroll management ;(. But i've been known by my friends to rebuild bankroll quickly and maybe these blog posts can help micro stakes players build their bankrolls quicker.
