Giving up and pursuing another lifestyle I believe is one subject that a lot of poker players ponder about and may or may have not overcome. I would like to know how many of you have seriously thought about giving up and why -- also explain how you overcame this emotion and kept on driving. I have been playing seriously for about a year now and the swings are beginning to become overwhelming and are starting to crush me because I have yet to have some very significant results (i.e. two decent winning months in a row). Poker is my life and I have convinced my family that I can do this. So now what?

Real life expenses (moving, severe car trouble) left me with no choice but to cash out my 3k bankroll a few weeks ago. I play limit poker on stars and am looking to try another site with rakeback. I am looking for anything from a $1,000 stake for 1/2 Limit or $2,000 for 2/4 Limit. I am up for anything long term or short term. I used to get on and almost every 2-3 hours there would be like 5 new blogs to read. Now I get on and there are like 4-5 per day. Is LP dying or something or did everyone just slit their emo side and decide to not share?

Since starting to play limit about a month ago it has been amazing. So much fun and it brings so much life to poker to learn a new game. The beginning of the graph is me learning limit on .50/1.00 and 1/2. Little bit of a struggle here and there but the players are so bad that its hard to stay stuck. It didn't take long (of course 8 hours a day are spent either playing or being sweated by my coach or discussing dynamics and lines of the game) before I was comfortable playing 2/4. Of course my bankroll isn't large enough at all to play as high as I am but I feel very confident in my game as of now. The latter part of the graph is 2/4 with some dabbling in 3/6.
Also I hit platinum for the fist time this month and found out that after taking 5 months off from poker this year I can still hit SuperNova. Ship the bonuses.
