Live tournament
  rANDY, Aug 11 2007

Would like to hear some thoughts on some hands I had today in a live tournament.

Background, for the last few months ive been playing this national tournament at my local pool hall, where after 10 freezeout tournaments the top 6 players go to a regional final.

6 from the 54 that get to the regionals go to the nationals, where the real prize money is.

There are 5 tickets at the regionals to the nationals which are my main interest, not cashing, here are the hands:

1st hand I am quite comfortable with but just a small question. Around 30 left I have 22,000 stack and have all but the BB covered, average about 9,000. Just been moved to a new table where I only know 1 player.
Blinds 300-600 villian in MP raises to 3,000 with about 3,500 behind. I look down at AKo in the CO. I raised enough to cover the initial raiser who called and I lost the race against QQ. When I reraise should I go allin or just enough to cover? I dont think I can fold AK even to his slight over raise.

2nd hand I am not sure what to do, down to around 14,000, average stack just below 10,000. Middle position raises to 2,000 at 400-800 blinds, me in SB look down at TdTh and call the other 1,600. BB calls the raise too. Flop K86 all spades. I check, BB checks, MP bets 2,000 into the 6,000 pot. I called, BB moves all in and has me covered. MP folds and I fold. BB tables As9s.

So after this I am just below average stack and get blinded down to 4,000 at 400-800 where I open shove 59o on the button and get called in the BB by AJ and don't improve.

Was an annoying tournament as for 2 hours I chipped up nicely for 2 hours to be one of the chipleaders and then in 20 minutes im out.

thx for reading

Stagnation Country
  rANDY, Jul 17 2007

Poker has been going well for me on NL25 but whenever I move to NL50 I seem to get owned and need to move back down. Anyway some graphs of my play since the 23rd June:

NL25 - Crushing

As you can see I've been doing quite well at NL25 and feel confident whenever I play it.

NL50 has been a different story -

NL50 has been reaaaaaaaaally annoying, five shots at it so far. The players seem no better and I feel like im playing the same as what was working for me at NL25 but the results just aren't satisfactory. Thinking of buying lessons as I don't want to blame this on bad luck, I probably have some leaks which need to be destroyed . My confidence in my play is pretty low at the moment, I was playing ~2,000 hands a day a week ago but now I just don't feel like loading up the tables.

PT stats -

Pokertracker stats
  rANDY, May 18 2007

Wellll I just got pokertracker and the only stats I had to put into it was from when I played stars back in jan/feb. Im not too sure how to interpret them so wondered if someone could point out my worst stats and what needs improving.

Titan tournaments
  rANDY, May 17 2007

With my $50 on Titan i've been having fun on mtts. On tuesday I came 2nd in a $15 $6,000 guarenteed freezeout for $600 and today I placed 4th in a $10 $1,500 guarenteed freezeout for $160, the hand I went out with sucked, he called my allin on the flop with K (8 kicker) high against my A (Q kicker) high to catch an 8 on the turn. I can't find how to post Titan HHs, anyone know?

But yea i've enjoyed playing the mtts, been a nice break from cash games and the players seem to be even worse.

updates!
  rANDY, Mar 19 2007

Not posted for a while, havent been playing much poker.

Had a decent session today, up a buy in or two. I'll post some hands from the session.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/160691 I'm not sure where im at and if I did call I would not be too comfortable on turn. Fold correct?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/160694 I feel weakness!

This guy was a moron and was getting the sick luck, not just against me but others, these 2 happened within 3 or 4 hands..

Targets for March
  rANDY, Mar 06 2007

I decided to set myself some targets for March and see if it can help me with dedication etc.

1st I want to make $500 at NL10 for March, so far after 6 days I am +$190 but have been running quite nicely.

2nd I aim to clear $350 worth of my deposit bonus on UB (so far about $65 cleared).

3rd stop overplaying AK

That is all, will give my results on these at the end of the month if I remember ^^

First days at UB
  rANDY, Mar 04 2007

Played for 4 days at UB now, since the start of March, and even though I'm not too keen on the software limiting how many tables you can play, I think it has helped my game. Over te 4 days im up about 15 buy ins, it just seems easier when playing few tables. Also the players at UB seem even worse than at stars, very easy to get them all in when you've got the goods, well that is at NL10

Things looking nice atm Hope it continues. Oh yea and I saw the biggest stack (compared to buy in) today, someone had $85 at a NL10 table. No idea how he accumulated it as he was shit, was down to $40 in 5 mins, unfortunately I couldn't get a hand against him ^^;

peace!~
