yeh, hit 2k! less than a month since my last blog about 1K

taking my 23 buyin move up shot again to no limit one hundred dollar nine max texas hold em, move down at 20 bi. so 6 more buyins to win before i can think about it.

my lifetime graph looks pretty cool now

MAy so far been good.

running bad and still winning is always great

had a pretty shocking downswing for about 5 bi but i grinded through it. probably had to do with hitting 3 more sets than expected in may, yay for sets

also gave my first lessons in poker a week or so ago to Story Teller, hope it went alright i don't want to primarily be doing lessons too much but if there are any low limit full ring players that really want one, pm me and i might be able to help out.

thx to anyone that comments the hands i post during sessions, really appreciated

Edit:

Stats:

NL50 All time (yea im still tight over this sample :D)

Positional Stats:

Also took a shot at NL100, failed miserably maybe should of played a bit tighther than 100/100/∞

-actually ran to expectation, or even slightly good in luck graphs... hasnt happened in so long so i'm pretty stoked. AND ran to expected sets... woooooo

Luck Graph (true EV, this shit is 100% correct)

Luck-O-Meter (i like this program)

-_^ Feb Post!!
  lachlan, Mar 01 2008

hi LP,

back to uni now so im going to be playing a lot more poker then when i was working full time over the holidays. so it should be good

Feb:

feb i didnt have a lot of time to play around work but it wasnt really that great... i guess i didnt run great and spewed alot, same old for me lately. but when i got back to uni last week i started concentrating a lot more and managed to run alright so my BR is now at $500 again and im going to play NL25 immediately, only moving back if i reach $400. so a 4 buyin shot but i dont need to cashout so i see no need to wait til 25 buyins like some people do. hopefully once gain ill stay this time haha

Playing the hand AK.

ive reviewed a lot of my hands and i realised over February that i am actually down on money with the hand AK. dunno what im doing wrong but anyone who has some good tips on how to play AK well on FR let me know.

just a random sample hand to illustrate:

main spots are like when u 3 bet someone to say 12 BB's, they call. ur first to act.

board come like Q93. good to lead out here? i have been near potting it but i often get called and raised here so i still find AK occasionally hard to play unless i have reads and so on.

+ Show Spoiler +

New PAhud stats (recommended by me)

I spent a couple of hours yesterday putting a few more stats on my PAhud setup. I play FR and the stats i put in are the Call PFR stat (how often they call a Pre flop raise), the Continuation Bet % stat, and the Fold to Continuation Bet stat.

I use these stat ALOT now as I find they are really useful at determining what kind of player you are against. See there are some fish who limp/call preflop and almost always fold to a cbet, whereas others, the "calling stations" who just wont let go.

So by having these stats on display u can easily work out which ones to cbet into and which ones to value bet to death, so for any NL10'ers out there imo give this a try, or at least have it in your popup stats.

If you just use a fish's aggression factor for your reads, u have no info on how often they C/C or C/F flop, all u know is that they wont raise u.

Small pairs

This whole month i tried playing small pairs passively rather than aggressively. ie. limping in early/medium position and only raising from the cutoff/button. this is in contrast to previously just raising them in all Med-late position spots.

i found that i broke even overall with small pairs, whereas i was down about 2 buyins last month from playing them aggro. so at NL10 my advice is just play them passive. too often you will raise with a small pair and get 2 callers and u have to give up without a set as cbets dont take the pot down very often.

Jan small pairs: (aggressive)

Feb Small pairs: (passive)

Graph of Feb:

Thanks:

-this month shaneO has been a big help, full ring isnt really the mainstream on this site but getting advice and help from higher stakes FR players is really invaluable, thanks heaps eh

-Silver, really appreciate the time when u were sweating me at 6 max... guess im not made to play it just yet after i lost 6 buyins later on but was still fun

Good luck to:

All fellow players making the move from the micros to the small stakes. so that is:

-kimseongchan (newest NL50 player, nicccccccce work)
-Silver)NZ( (playing NL100 fuck yeah)
-sirracksalot (also flying through the limits)
-Božidar Bralic; (increasing croatias GDP every day )
-Python
-bongky

Poker!!
  lachlan, Jan 31 2008

sorry but im really tired and so blog is just for recording purposes so i can review month by month and shit

month was shit house. didnt play much and when i did it was up and down. was playing NL25 a lot and doing ok, mainly break even. but i realised that i cant play properly at only 20 buyins, i was just getting pissed off whenever my BR would go under 500. so im going to do what alot of u guys do and get 25 buyins before my next shot. also i suck at 6 max, not playing it again for a long long time.

reading Deadman's blog really inspired me to keep playing poker at least 25k hands a month. i mean i played NL2 with him when i first started off, and he just made 3k in january. so im more aiming long term but in 6 months i would definitely like to be NL50 or something, thatd be cool :_)

hi lp micro stake small stake and medium stake community,

i am writing to ask for help with my non-showdown play. i played a 1200 hand session and at the end i broke even but was up $50 in showdowns but -$50 in non-showdowns.

i want to always improve so i thought i'd post my 5 biggest losing non-showdown hands and try to get some tips and tricks

Hand #1:
+ Show Spoiler +

If you try to not be results orientated is this a good fold usually?? dunno stats cant remember

Hand #2:
+ Show Spoiler +

In retrospect of this hand the guy was chatting alot so maybe he was on tilt. but i didnt realise at the time. standardly, this played ok?

Hand #3:
+ Show Spoiler +

Ok i dont mean to be posting standard shit like this. but yeah i lost money here so good or bad? T62 board i thought was pretty dry, idk

Hand #4:
+ Show Spoiler +

i checked turn because the flush draw hit and there were 3 ppl in the pot. im guessing this is fine, just to confirm, good?

Hand #5:
+ Show Spoiler +

this might of been bad, could have called or folded here. i was going to call but then i figured im flipping at best and i know he's a shortie but for whatever reason i folded. is this a 100% slam dunk always call?

any comments welcome, even from noobs :-) thanks

oh and stats for the session
