First day at NL50
  NeillyJQ, Aug 26 2007

I started the morning off entering alot of tournaments, which didn't pan out well when I lost all my buy-ins without any cashes.

After starting down around $100, I decided I was ready to move up to NL50 and start grinding there again.

The day started off bad, as I lost 2 more buy-ins hella fast. Things eventually turned for the better though, and I picked up what I lost and then a little bit. ($100 Tourney fee's + $100 start of session)

I finished the day up 1 buy-in, as I was coolered on the last hand of the night to take me from up 1.5 buy-ins.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258868

Heres my stats from todays sessions;

morning;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1562 hands and saw flop:
- 86 out of 201 times while in big blind (42%)
- 27 out of 204 times while in small blind (13%)
- 110 out of 1157 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 223 out of 1562 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 23 of 49 (46%)
Pots won without showdown - 156

afternoon;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1447 hands and saw flop:
- 90 out of 191 times while in big blind (47%)
- 30 out of 192 times while in small blind (15%)
- 100 out of 1064 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 220 out of 1447 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 24 of 47 (51%)
Pots won without showdown - 121

I'm feeling very comfortable on NL50, and plan to stay here at NL50 for the next few months. I hope to advance to NL100 when my BR hits 5k.

Key hands I played today;

vs Jabba_Rules - I raise my AA from the blinds and pick up a caller on the button, figure him for a pocket pair or strong sooted hand. Flop comes 338, I cont bet and get minraised. Right now I'm figuring him for top pair which has 2 outs to beat me or a pocket pair, which has two outs. So I flat and give him a chance to hang himself on the turn, figuring if I bet he will instafold. He checks behind, and I trap a little more on the river. He does what I hope and donkbets small to get value from any AK/AQ and I repop him something that could be a bluff (6x reraise).

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258826

vs debaggage87 - limp my 22 behind an open minraiser and get reraised from the button. I'm priced in so I come along. Flop my dream flop and work on getting Wannie37's money since hes deeper and conceal the strength of my hand. debagge87 will have none of it though and repops to get all the money in. I beat him in w/ my set and he rivers a boat with Q3. sick.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258825

vs articcats - I haven't played with artic before this hand but had watched him play a little before this hand and had him figured as a TAG player. He limp reraises me PF which sends alarms off in my head that he probably has AA, but I call anyways for set value and incase he has AK/smaller pair. On the flop he bets very weak and I call, still suspecting he could have AA. On the turn he open shoves when a queen hits. At first, it looks like theres nothing I can beat, cuz if he had TT-AA, I only beat JJ, but I scroll through the hand histories and see him raising the last pot, and he was involved in the pot before this. With this now added to the equation I make the hero call with KK to beat his AT.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258805

vs Cardhu24 - Limp in my small PP and get raised by an OOP player. He makes a very stiff raise but gives me appropriate set odds so I come along. I'm quite sure he has an overpair here when I spike my set, so I reraise strong trying to rep a jack that doesn't believe his cont bet / other pp. He instantly ships the chips and I call to beat his AA with my set.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258797

vs Kenann - This was such a beautiful christmas present.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258783

vs DJPushyplay and evilganz - I call the minraise PF with AT oop w/ good odds with alot of players. I flop the ace high FD and face a donkbet and reraise. I reraise lightly trying to represent a very strong hand and get reshoved by both players. At this point I have 30% of my stack in there and 2 fullstacks allin w/ the Ahi FD. I'm inclined to call and don't catch a heart, whoops.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/258770

vs Rouji - Can u believe this shit?

Ok well, I'm outa here for the night,

Tournament Weekend
  NeillyJQ, Aug 26 2007

On Saturday I started the day off on the cash tables and ran fairly bad, losing a buy-in after about an hour, so I switched it up to tournaments.

I spent around $60 in entry fee's and managed to get 229th in the 45k Gntd $10R, losing QQ vs AK when a king hit the turn after all the money was in.

I was fortunate enough to make it deep in the 5k Gntd $5 tournament held though, and got 5th place for a score of $380, a 20% increase in my bankroll.

Feeling confident from todays events, I've decided to dedicate today to tournaments as well, and start the grind back on the cash tables tomorrow.

Best of luck goes out to LP,
hopefully we can get a 1st place finish today;

Battling
  NeillyJQ, Aug 24 2007

I almost quit my session earlier but had some sparks of a nice run start right before I logged out so I decided to stay on and keep playing. The session did just that and turned for the better. Before I knew it, I was up four buy-ins.

I got pretty tired at the end of the session and stopped catching hands after about 2,000 hands, but not before I managed a nice day.

Heres my stats from the entire session today;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 2092 hands and saw flop:
- 147 out of 280 times while in big blind (52%)
- 58 out of 283 times while in small blind (20%)
- 139 out of 1529 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 344 out of 2092 (16%)
Pots won at showdown - 54 of 89 (60%)
Pots won without showdown - 173

I plan on putting in alot of hours this weekend, with alot of hand analysis as well. Be sure to check back saturday and sunday night for that.

Going to go watch some TV n pass out soon,

Mission to SuperNovA!
  NeillyJQ, Aug 22 2007

After only earning a tiny bit of FPP's per day and trying to get to supernova for the last couple months, I decided I'm going to put in a TON of hands starting friday and get to supernova by the end of the month!

This is going to be alot of 7-12 hour sessions which will help get me playing at my absolute best for when I get to NL50 so I'm at my absolute best!

Quick question if anyone knows though, when I get to Supernova, do I need to re-earn the status at the start of 2008?

and will my hair turn supersaiyan yellow all the time, or just when I'm playing?

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

Night session
  NeillyJQ, Aug 22 2007

I've been playing very calm, patient poker, and have been developing alot of good habits at the table lately. Tonight was no different, and I played very well for a few hours tonight and won a nice profit. Each day I'm getting closer and closer to NL50 and am looking forward to moving up.

I'm going to go eat dinner soon, so I won't post any analysis tonight, but this weekend I will be posting alot of hand analysis.

Heres my stats from tonights session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1547 hands and saw flop:
- 106 out of 214 times while in big blind (49%)
- 38 out of 214 times while in small blind (17%)
- 119 out of 1119 times in other positions (10%)
- a total of 263 out of 1547 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 31 of 55 (56%)
Pots won without showdown - 155

I'll be going to Pittsburgh tomorrow to clean my old house out of all my possesions down there to get ready to move to Taiwan.

On a side note I have an absessed tooth thats infected and its been giving me alot of problems, and was causing my focus to slip for a while there, but now that I'm on proper antibiotics and some pain medicine until surgery next thursday, I'll be playing my best again during all sessions.

Morning session
  NeillyJQ, Aug 21 2007

This morning I woke up and decided to take a small shot on NL50. (Had 18 buy-ins when I woke up for NL50) All went pretty well, started off having a sick cooler hit me, but after that I got into a little groove and finished the session up nearly three buy-ins.

This session was a great confidence booster for myself, showing me that I'm playing my best and making good decisions. I'm going to be playing back down on NL25 for the most part since my roll isn't stable for the long run at NL50 just yet, but plan to be moving up soon.

Heres my stats from this mornings session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 704 hands and saw flop:
- 35 out of 89 times while in big blind (39%)
- 20 out of 84 times while in small blind (23%)
- 47 out of 531 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 102 out of 704 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 18 of 23 (78%)
Pots won without showdown - 71

And heres some hands from todays session;

vs Raziel2018 - This was my first pot of the day, was 50/50 cooler/mistake. Raziel opens in EMP & I call otb with JQs. Flop TPgK and call his flop bet looking to improve incase he has an overpair (which I thought was very doubtful). Turn gives me two pair, he check minraises me and I stack off donkishly. LP helped me realize how much his line screams set and I shouldn't have played it so fast. In the future, I'll just be flatting this minraise and re-evaluating the river.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255178

Multiway pot - This was the best birthday present a guy could ask for. MP opens 3x bb, get a few callers, obv I call w/ AJs in late position. Flop the nuts, start to wonder if I'm going to get paid off, then everyone throws there stack in the middle.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255180

vs edseleanna - Open 9Ts utg, (a play I make about 1/6-1/12 times UTG, depending on how active the table is). I get no respect and 3 callers, whats new lol. I flop bottom pair w/ an open ender and check into the scary board holding 3 diamonds. I turn my gin card and a shorty donks off for his stack which is just above a psb. I call this bet and my set holds vs his top two.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255180

vs tatt2tony - I open QQ in EP and get a caller out of the blinds. He plays back at me, but just a minraise & I doubt he would play a seven or threes full like this so I just call. On the turn he makes another fairly small bet, and here I assume he either has a hand like 78 or a smaller PP and doesn't believe I have the overpair. I call again, assuming I get no value from any hands I beat here by putting in a raise. On the river an Ace comes, probably a card he thinks I have in my hand, so I value bet about 20% of the pot, the only bet I assume he will call with a small pair when the ace falls and he oblidges to the bet.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255204

vs MILANAO - standard MP opens the pot for 1.50 and gets repopped in LP by this shorty. I flat IP with AK expecting to stack off w/ any TPTK here. I flop top pair and when he donks out I figure hes on QQ or AK, maybe AA/KK but I'm not folding to him since hes shortstack and I assume hes a bad player because hes a shortstack. So I flat and on the turn he shoves the rest in. I insta-call and river an ace to beat his jack-hi with top two.

birthday song goes off in head*

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/255208

This was a nice session and a confidence builder like I said, and although I'm rolled enough for NL50 (21 BI), I'm going to stay on NL25 for atleast another week or so.

I'm happy to have done well in this session, and am feeling much more confident for next week when I start NL50, knowing that its dynamic fits my game better than all the other limits.

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)
