Yes the guy was a crazy dictator, but its still not excuse to invade a country, and its also ridiculously naive to think that is the motivation.

Nobody is missing Hussein, its just that we dont want an imperialist war mongering country taking control over resources by overthrowing governments at will, is that so hard to understand?

Iraq and libya r completely different scenarios. Iraq was a full invasion against a country. Libya is a bombing campaign in support of one side of a civil war. Also iraq our pres tried to claim it wad due to wmd or greater good. Obama at least said libya is being acted on "to protect our interests"

I think the outcome is actually the important thing of this. While I don't doubt NATO was interested in securing oil reserves, if it results in the ditching of a dictator and securing a semi peaceful gobernment (democracy is just pushing it imo) I don't see anything wrong in it. Also it seems this proves that it is way more EV+ to support the side that u want to win by giving them weapons/bombing other side than actually sending your own troops.

From what I've gathered

The vast majority of people in Libya revolted... unlike that of iraq. It was clear they all wanted a change.

The US wasn't the first ones involved. A bunch of UN countries got involved way before the US.

The US isn't even the most involved currently.

Khadaffi was the US's bitch. He pretty much did whatever we wanted and was considered a friend to the US.
