do you guys think phones will eventually replace computers completely? Like the phone becomes so powerful/advanced that in addition to normal phone shit, you can just plug a keyboard/monitor/mouse into it and treat it exactly like a computer, or plug into the back of a tablet device to act a laptop (since a laptop of today would still have the advantage of a full keyboard and a larger screen versus using the future phone's small screen + keyboard as a laptop, however something ipad-ish that you slide your phone into would be better than a laptop in all ways). Do you guys think this sort of ultimate media device will emerge in the foreseeable future at a practical cost to completely eliminate the desktop/laptop as we know it? |

This is going to be ages. Nobody uses the IR keyboard that's already out for a reason: there's no tactical feedback so the thing will always feel lossy.
Also: how do they do wireless charging? That's going to be hugely inefficient, if at all practical.
Elite: I'd like my cellphone to contain all my HD(s) and online profile, so I can dock it into a local computer. You can then use software based on subscriptions that are connected to your profile (so you pay a small amount for every hour you photoshop). Program data is all sent through Highband internet, Local stations do not have a HD, but they have a cpu, ram, graphics card an interface (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speech). Basically all the stuff you don't want to carry around. |
