It's just a matter of time until he gets it imo.

Athene at the airport, going to Isle of Man Pokerstars headquarters:

this guy just seems like a 'tard that tries really really hard.

which is both respectable and also laughable at the same time.

Well like I posted on 2p2, I've been watching Athene for a while and to me it really looks like he's trying hard to act sad/upset in this video. There's no doubt he's going to the PS HQ, there's a 12 sec vid of him on the plane as well. However seeing as the 25 winners will be announced on the 23rd I think it's very possible he actually got it and is going there to sign some papers/talk to them in person.
It really looks to me like he's trying to contain his joy, maybe I'm wrong but something just doesn't seem right heh.

So I guess we'll see soon if the "tard that tries really hard" got what he wanted, and trolled everyone in the process. Btw even with this delay, he's still probably going to finish his million hand challenge as well.

Ok so this guy is motivated and very inspiring, but if we go by PTR his win rate is like 0.35/100BB playing FR. I dont think playing 1 million hands will get him PS pro. It would help if he was killing nl100 , but thats not the case here. I wish him the best in his challenge but the PS pro, i doubt this will happen. Many online players are raping the game out there. I think many people have played less hands but deserve PS pro more than him.

So many fish but so little time to go fishing!

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't really use PT or any stat programs but a 0.35/100BB winrate 24 tabling would equal the same profit as 8.4/100BB 1 tabling and 2.1/100BB 4 tabling right? That's not too bad. considering the insane rakeback that he's getting and the hours he puts in, he probably makes more profit than 99% of 100NL players no?

I'd say a .35ptbb winrate 24 tabling NL100 is pretty bad.

yes but when it comes in the form of rakeback its super gay that's the idea atleast

I don't really like (almost) purely rakeback pro'ing.. all it does is minimize the amount of money that stays in poker player's hands and maximizes the pokersite's income

I don't know, I usually 4 table 6max so I can't compare but I'd think for anyone playing that many tables at 100nl (which is a pretty decent limit) breaking even would already seem like an accomplishment lol.
If .35ptbb 24 tabling is pretty bad and he has made 125k in his first 7 months playing (with rakeback and bonuses) then I guess there's many 100nlers rolling in hundreds of thousands?

100% rakeback would be nice for a mass low stakes grinder!

Considering the fact that he is pretty famous in WoW and that that game has ~11 million subscribers (not everyone will be able to play poker tho) it seems like he has a really good chance to get pro. Especially since that would make a statement to them that poker is just like wow.

also sucks cause it is on PS and you get FPPs instead of direct cash.
so now you have FPPs and you can buy a bonus and then wait til that clears...
i also thought good 24 tablers are hitting 1-2ptbb/100 still or no?

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.
