Animal fur trade, disgusting - Page 3

I watched the documentary Earthlings a few weeks ago. I'm very much against fur as it's absolutely useless and the alternatives (fake fur and such) are just as good imo. But that documentary also showed the way leather and meat is produced, in about the sickest way possible, not that much different than the treatment of animals for fur. I feel sorta like a hypocrite saying fur is bad and in the same time eating the meat and wearing the leather that also got produced in horrible ways, but n the other hand I just cant miss meat and leather, the alternatives are just a lot worse (plastic/fake leather shoes or those meat-replacements suck ). But then again, it's not like I say to the butcher "I want the cow that produced that steak to get hurt as much as possible".

I do understand people who are vegetarian or vegan and I do think it's nice that they are that way, but I just cant live without it. For fur however, there's just no excuse to wear it imo.

To my understanding they don't want to slit the animals throats because it gets blood all over the fur and makes a larger mess.

I'm sure you can agree this is not a nice thing to do to a human. So why allow it to happen to an animal? We're far more similar to animals than a lot of us would like to think. They feel pain in an almost identical manner to how we do. Just because other dickheads are doing it to animals, doesn't mean it's OK to act like a jaded fuck with the pathetic attitude of "boohoo shit happens". These farmers have a choice of how to kill the animals they're breeding, and they choose the cheapest, cruelest way. They don't even have the dignity to kill the animal AFTER they've removed the skin, they just let it lie there and slowly bleed out for 10 minutes -.-

Did they laugh? I wonder if a human is the only species that can extract joy from torturing another human or animal. Ive seen my cat play with a mouse before she kills it. Dunno if she has fun.

it has been shown that dolphins enjoy killing other creatures and often do it for fun...quite possibly it's just part of what comes with higher intelligence is that some of the species will find joy in killing
