Not sure if u realise it, but money management is just a part of the problem. You might need to change the way u think about ur life a bit. A little more responsibility and at least some basic planning might help. Depends what u want from to achieve and to do with ur life.
Anyway, gl finding ur way out of this situation. Just dont think that winning a few grands in poker is gonna solve it all. |

Uhm, I realize a porsche is a pretty awesome piece of machinery but don't you think selling it, and thusly eliminating all the stress, would be better for you long term? That way you can focus on actually playing well again and in a year or two actually buy a new one without it putting any kind of strain on you. |

this is exactly why I will never feel bad for you Marshall. I find it ridiculous that you refuse to see your mistake and repair it by doing exactly that. A smart/changed person would sell it and buy a cheaper car. |

I agree, selling the porsche is not only the right choice now but its the way you should start thinking, you are still looking for a quick fix and get back where u were not long ago, forget that idea, sell the porsche, learn this lesson play with no stress and grind properly.
Also realize BR management wasnt your only problem, actually using 15bi rule and moe down at 20 isnt bad at all if u crush the stakes, but you dont crush them u arent as good as you think you are. |

Sell ur shit, pay back your debts. get what is left of your money and get it off the sites. get a job and work on doing something with your life.
you are *really* bad at poker and do not get it and I do not think you are capable of getting it. You haven't been on a downswing and bad money management isn't the only factor in your downfall. Variance has caught up with you after your unreal heater.
I've laughed at you for long enough, this is sincere advice. |

tbh i feel really bad for anyone that goes on a run like you did. Its really a trainwreck in disguise, there is only one person that ive seen that has come out of a sick heater, and not crashed and burned horribly and thats wobbly, but still to a point sometimes i think he missed out on some key things, that he would have learned much easier playing lower stakes. He however seems to have slowed himself down enough to adapt to beating the games he is in and is a decent winner in the games he plays now. Which is good and i am happy for him.
It truly sucks for most people tho because it does give you way too much confidence. I for one am pretty glad that it didn't happen to me because looking back on it i think i would have missed out on some fundamentals that are hard to learn at the higher stakes. So many times in poker you find yourself making a play thats more advanced or something, and you find it not working out and try to change it around a little. But really the problem is that the fundamentals you base it on are wrong. |

lol i didnt write this for sympathy, and i definitely didnt write it for advice. i wrote it for myself, and to point out how good i had it and to look at how many mistakes I made. Going with the new purpose of this blog .. to write down my thoughts to reflect on later ... this fits it dead on.
evan i cant think of any reason you have to continue this except for the fact that you are an angry person and need somewhere to vent that anger. i guess thats where i come in. it's probably like pavlov's dog at this point, see my name or me and it triggers hatred ... something you never had any reason for either. i've been more than nice to u and accepting of you as a person, I never judged you, Even though you were very fast to judge me. Whatever though, you are the one that's being fake the last time you saw me acted like everythign was cool. I even offered you a beer, u even cheers'ed with me, lol, and you still can't get over it. thats too bad.
Whatever, I'm resilient, and I've had more than enough people who play even higher than I have point out the fact that I have talent. I've also realized that talent isn't even a very important part of being a good poker player. Being honest with your evaluations of your capabilities, your play, your tolerance for risk, and managing your money are far more important than just having talent. Talent is just a small percent of it, it's hard work and discpline that makes up most of the rest. I don't plan on quitting, even though I'm not having fun now. I know what my capacity is for success, and I know that I have gaping holes in my game. I refuse to quit.
Buying the car was a mistake, obviously. But it's something I always dreamed about having at a young age, if I sell it now, there's no way I would get another if I work my way back to the mid stakes again. And what ReDdCaffe said is pretty much dead on.

This shows that you seem to believe that you are learning and changing but in fact you are not at all.
Your last sentence is evidence of this. Also I really do not see any hatred in Evan's post although he has shown it in the past I think he is just saying it like it is. You really dont seem to get it |

first off i still dont see how u can misconstrue what im saying. i was giving advice and not bashing u, i even made sure to say that in what i wrote so that u wouldn't do what u just did
blabla same old same old retardation
wtf? last time i saw u i acted like everything was cool? the last time i saw you was when i was ridiculously drunk after saki bombing with rek and he got the idea in his head to have u over to play poker with us
i remember little to nothing from that night and if i cheers'ed with u its because im a ridiculously happy drunk and i never fight because i just want to have a good time
you dumb fuck, this has nothing to do with our past. i know for a fact you're horrendous at poker and will not succeed. the only possible way would be to completely wipe your memory of poker and then have a good coach walk u thru everything step by step, teaching u the basics and moving on to advance play. since this will never happen, my advice to u is to stop wasting your time / getting yourself in trouble with debt and take what u have now and use it constructively towards your future |

Just want to say thanks for sharing your poker drama, I'm worried I could one day end up like you. I ran $200 BR up to $2000 in about a month before cashing out and have never been able to duplicate it again. Now I play micro stakes SNG's and just bounce back and forth with a few first place finishes and a ton of middle stage finishes to even it out. I could easily see myself being fooled by some short term success and doing something stupid like quitting my job if i made 30k in 3 months, even though the 10 hour shifts really cut into my poker time.
Keep on bloggin. |

Truest response ever. Not necessarily about you being fake or that one person is totally right/wrong between you and Evan because I don't know you so I don't presume to assume. Everything else though. For you to respond to Redcaffe's post to say that that's how it is for you is absolutely ridiculous. Inability to suck up misplaced self-pride sometimes is a failing a lot of us deal with to a small extent...myself included. But it's astounding to me that it's still such an obvious problem for you after the disaster (that's not even an insult...it is what it is) that has been your last 5 months. |

i really dont care what anybody says/thinks about me in general. the only things that concern me are what people have to say about my integrity, my word, and my trustworthiness. The reason I don't ban people from making comments in my blog is because i really dont care.
You basically broke one of those things. I never did care about my "image". i dont tell people i drive a porsche.... maybe i made a post as a brag when my head was up in the clouds. but u think i walk around with a sign on my back saying i have a nice car? why do you even care in the first place? ... and lastly, your post is a complete contradiction. if being fake entails driving an expensive car to give the impression that im rich when im really not.... what was one of the last things said in this entry? STATED VERY CLEARLY... I DONT HAVE MONEY. LOL.... it cant be made any clearer. and be humble? ...i think it is pretty humbling to air my thoguhts out for everyone to see and for people like you to flame, since it's what u do. posting what i wrote is real and honest as well. i dont sugarcoat anything, i say it like it is. so call me what u want, but dont try to claim im fake or have no integrity. i have no qualms w/ anyone. |

1st, remove the word car and insert the word dream. 2nd, financially ... it really doesn't make much sense to sell it if I can come up with the payments monthly ... one of the other reasons I didn't buy the car outright was because I wanted to get a loan in order to build my credit history. having a 25k$ autoloan on it is a pretty big deal (in order to get a low APR) when I go to try to purchase a condo or a house a few years down the road. Also, you really misconstrued what I wrote if you think this is over a car.
its funny how the poker world works, if u r winning, people will pay tons of money to hear what you have to say, if you arent, they automatically think u were just lucky and forget everything they thought about you in the past, and just claim you were a luckbox, since it isn't possible to slump. LOL. This is like the farthest thing from reality, which might be why those of us who understand the reality of it are able to profit so greatly. I mean seriously, you've never seen ARod in a slump? I'm not going to attempt to defend my knowledge or abilities as a player, that's a whole other issue, and actually completely unimportant right now. I've said everything I have to say, so continue with your rants if you wish. |

damn this is a pretty depressing blog post, kind of a run from hell.
I a huge amount of success came from me always trying to enjoy poker and keep it fresh. Grinding to much really stresses that aspect to much. On that note I would strongly advice not playing poker / quitting if you are not enjoying it. |
