I don't know man. I just know I need less internet when everyone seems to want more. I tried to get cute with this thread and all it ends up being is another damn relapse. Pretty soon I'll be writing 5 large block paragraphs about work, life, and how I feel about cutting all of my hair off. I still posit that being human is difficult. At least for me. I have been playing the guitar for hours daily to try and fill a void. I didn't eat any fast food for a month before coming home from work without anything to eat. My ole friend the striatum was going haywire. I instantly became happy and excited that I was going on a trip to binge eat McDonalds. Besides playing the guitar it was the happiest I have been in 2 weeks. At least I found a good instructor to start taking guitar lessons now that I have some money. Throwing all my eggs in the guitar basket seems like it is not prudent but it's literally all I have. I can't paint in the house anymore and don't have the money for a studio. See typing this out offers some catharsis too but it has to stop. But, I don't want to play the guitar every waking hour away from work. I don't even want to work it's pretty awful besides making strangers laugh and I need money for guitar lessons and bills and such. Story of my life might just be NGMI. I'm marked for death. Most of my blog posts are not even really engaging anyone they are just the thoughts of a suffering human animal. I can let the suffering express itself through vocals and guitar among other outlets better than screeching on here or getting into mini-"debates." Yeah, it passes the time and may or may not cure a case of the empties but at what cost? I have a fucked liver, there is no telling how long I will last on this Earth. Do I really want to spend chunks of it on here versus engaging in something more real and substantial?

I was paid quite well for being a teacher actually. It was relatively easy to save 20k-25k per year, with having 3 months of paid vacation as well. I was able to spend summers in Phuket training Muay Thai and going to the beach everyday. How's your parent's basement in North Jersey treating you?

I am at a plateau where I can play A, Am, Aetc, C, D, Dm, Detc, E, Em, Eetc, G reasonably well although I would like to be more crisp and consistent and I would like to be much better with the transitions between the chords. I would like to learn how to play F, Bb, Gm + others and be able to play more songs as well as write my own. I just cannot seem to accomplish this on my own and my practice feels stale and like I am just re-enforcing mediocre chord shapes that produce mediocre sounds.

If u want to save some monies u can do online lessons with a low cost of living country. Online lessons probably have issues but ur not rolling in dough or anything.

Me personally I quit guitar partly because u thought it was a good pursuit lol.

I think I am more free with the latter although society associates the uncut hair with freedom among other things. thats why classical guitar is better.

it feels really stupid playing some chords and to some song but the actual melody you are singing it with your voice. you can get to doing a solo on classical pretty quickly. you can do fingerstyle on acoustic but much easier on classical. plus the training structure for classical is super established and regimented...and the people that are into classical guitar are really into it because its niche.
