Sick late submission by Paul Craig!

2nd time he did that in the UFC.

Gaethje with the one-hitter-quitter!

And he didn't take much damage, so that's even better!

I want Justin Gaethje vs. Al Iaquinta next.

Anyway how much did Holloway improve compared to how much did Poirier improve since their first fight?

Holloway improved a lot since their first fight.

- They fought 7 years ago
- Max Holloway was the 3rd replacement for Dustin Poirier in that fight
- Max was only 4-0 when he made his UFC debut against Dustin on short notice
- Max was giving Dustin problems on the feet, so Dustin was forced to take him down

Gonna be a great fight, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Max to win.

But would it be a close fight or do the odds correctly suggest an outcome of a somewhat easy win for Holloway?

I think Max vs. Dustin will be close within the first 3 rounds, and anyone can win at that point. If it gets to rounds 4 and 5, Max will still be 100% fresh and throw a lot more strikes and use more pressure than Dustin, which means Dustin will either get finished in R4/R5, or lose a decision.

Dustin can win this fight, he just needs to do it within the first 3 rounds.

Think I agree with the above scenario except I would say that even if Dustin lights Max up here and there early, I just don't really see him stopping this version of Max. But I guess there's been a lot of kind of unexpected early main event wipe outs recently. Also first fight of Max moving up to 155, but I think all his shit will translate well. He has a pretty big frame for 145

Maybe I'm overrating Max but I'd only really solidly favor Khabib over him. I actually think he'd actually match up well vs Tony, close to or about even with a not peak Conor, and yeah, he's -220 vs Dustin. Maybe a big for the division wrestler like Kevin Lee would give him a lot of trouble even though Max is obviously the better overall fighter. Oh and Gaethje. Guy is a major threat to literally anyone on any given night

Oh and yeah I wouldn't glean anything off their first fight. Max was so raw. Literally just 20 years old with 4 random amateur fights in Hawii. Maybe we see super young fighters come into the UFC more recently but I'm pretty sure Max at 20 so undeveloped but already in the UFC was an anomaly back then. Dustin was only 23 but had packed in a ton of fights '09 to '12

What are the odds that Dustin Poirier can finish Holloway within the first 3 rounds?
