Compared to regular No-Limit Hold'em, the Short Deck format features a 36-card deck with the deuces, threes, fours, and fives removed, with aces doubling as fives instead. With just 36 cards instead of 52, straights become more common, while flushes are a rare sight. In order to adjust for this, the hand ranking chart has been updated, and a flush beats a full house.

Have you guys played this format? How is the strength of TPTK on the flop for example compared to regular NLHE? Ivey and Dwan both saying it is a lot of fun, but still not very popular.

cool game.

OESDs are great; flushes hard to hit so outrank full houses. Equities closer in general than regular nlhe; less completely unplayable hands pre obv.

To answer your question TPTK is still a decent hand obviously but it is going to be marginally weaker in short deck than in full deck.

Hope it catches on in the Bay Area and I can find a game around here.
