- A UFC Flyweight Championship bout between current champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Wilson Reis was expected to serve as the co-main event. However on July 8, it was announced that Johnson pulled out due to an undisclosed injury and the bout was postponed. Reis was expected to remain on the card against promotional newcomer Sean Santella, but a few days later Santella announced the bout was scrapped because the UFC said "he needed to get more medicals done and there wasn't enough time". In turn, Reis will now face Hector Sandoval.
- Claudio Silva was expected to face Siyar Bahadurzada at the event. However on June 16, Silva pulled out due to injury and was replaced by Jorge Masvidal. In turn, Bahadurzada pulled out of the bout on July 12 citing an illness and was replaced by The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom winner Ross Pearson.

Def think Robbies the better fight and should win here, but he's also taken a lot of punishment lately and fights have been super unpredictable this year. Wouldn't be surprised if Woodley gets a tko.

Pretty terrible for a PPV.

Hope Lawler starches Woodley like he should, really don't want to see Tyron as a champion. Kind of a weird stylistic fight, a lot of things can happen.

Interested to see if Scoggins vs McCall.

KK vs Thug Rose is a good fight but lol at it being a Co-Main.

Everything else is pretty zzz.

Eh were coming off like 4 really stacked cards. Especially before injurys/peds fucked them up a lil.

this, plus i think they overkilled it with UFC200, couldve swapped a few matches between those 2 cards though, UFC200 basically didn't have a single at first sight boring match up

think lawler at evens ITD is better than lawler straight up at -210?

how likely is a decision in this 5 round fight

Woodley has shit cardio I can easily see him gassed by the 3rd being a sitting duck and getting finished by Lawler

Yep, I think Woodley's main problem s the cardio, otherwise he might have decent odds

Tyron Woodley trained at 2 camps for this fight: American Top Team Evolution in St. Louis (owned by Woodley), and Roufusport.

Woodley trained with Din Thomas from ATT, and the following guys from Roufusport: Anthony Pettis, Mike Rhodes, and Erik Koch.

Woodley has a documentary for his entire fight camp for this title fight. I assume there will be one more video prior to fight-day:

Why would we assume Woodley is better now after a year and a half layoff and USADA?

Woodley looks as juiced as anyone in the UFC.

Red flags galore (excerpts posted by someone on Sherdog)

"I'm doing product placement, my drinks and my meals, I never thought I would fight again, 4 months ago, I was over fighting, I was done, but my arm started to work again, and my body has been good this camp, my coaching staff is working together this time, they don't push me too much, I'm the assistant coach, I'm in shape, but not in pain, I've had to be careful this camp, (don't re-injure), my arm still has the tingling, burning, the pain, stiffness, lockups, it won't go away, if it breaks again, I'll keep on punching, it's been 2 years since I've fought, I have other jobs, the podcast with Erik Apple, it's going really well, must win, I can't start over, my coach wanted the Scoggins fight because he beat one of teammates Josh Sampo, he's a stud, I like his style, I'll teach him a lesson, it's not his time, the gym, coaching responsibility, running a kids program, this is my life, I had women personal issues the last fight, I have a mind coach, he hypnotizes me, he's my therapist."

The woodley champ camp videos made me like him as a person and made me almost bet on him, then I realised he is wrestler that learnt how to throw the right hand only.

He will get murked..

Justin Scoggins out of UFC 201 bout against Ian McCall due to weight cutting issues

His father, Chris Scoggins, confirmed the news: "We just had to make a horrible, disappointing call," Chris said. "Justin could not get below 132.5 pounds. He was all good and his body just stopped allowing the weight to come off. No sweating, nothing. That's too much [of a] weight difference for a catchweight so Justin is out. This is horrible."

No idea if they can find a replacement so McCall can still fight.

Lawler is a southpaw which means it will probably be harder to takedown for woodley since his hips will be further away and also Lawler is particularly good at defending one leg takedowns and theres no way Woodley is going to get deep enough to grab his left leg.

That also means Woodleys right hand is more dangerous when Lawler is throwing lefts so he has to be very aware of it, maybe Lawler should try to lead a lot with left straights Paquiao style hiding his head behind the shoulder, it is the best punch for a southpaw and also the safest to throw against a guy with a only a dangerous right.

It was up to McCall, and he didn't want Scoggins to be too much bigger than him. McCall was near his fight-weight already.

If McCall was 128, for example, he didn't want Scoggins weighing 132.5 pounds.

Also, someone mentioned that McCall was mad about a previous catchweight he lost in the UFC, and he didn't want to let his opponents weigh-in heavier than him anymore.

Man he was 7.5 pounds away. That's not even close. They really need to come up with something different with those weight cuts. Maybe they should assign weight class to fighter. Lets say they get an independent doctor who can come up with reliable way to determine healthy weight class for fighter. Im just trying to think outside the box for a sec.

Super wack that Scoggins v McCall not happening... Was the fight I was most looking forward to.

Scoggins going to 135 is also terrible for Flyweight - he was the only guy I thought even had a chance of giving Mighty Mouse problems. Bantamweight keeps getting better and better.

dunno. i think woodley has grown and learned a lot being away from the octagon for over a year. he's gonna use a lot more leg kicks and chop lawler down early. then he can take him down and drop bombs on him due to lawler being less mobile.

but if we see him do the same shit he's always been doing, then all that time off made him learn shit. but i think he's smarter than that. or at least i hope he is. lol.

Dunno he looked a lil smaller at the weigh ins than usual. Also there was a post today on Sherdog about his levels from ufc 189 being ultra suspect. I guess his Lutinizing Hormone, a hormone which tells your nuts to produce testosterone, was 3x the currently allowed limit under USADA.

Let's wrestle a much better wreslter than we can easily beat on the feets. WTF

ALso the decison was retarded. Round 2 was clearly not a 10-8. Yes Graves dominated it, but he didn't really do any damage. If that round 2 is a 10-8, then so many rounds needs to be 10-8 lol

Prelims are on FS2 for this event. I hate it cuz only people with DirecTV and one other provider have FS2 in USA. I have Comcast/Xfinity, and you have to pay extra for FS2 while FS1 is free.

Also, thanks for mentioning the Spanish channel. I have it on my TV, but I never watch it. It shows the UFC prelims, so I'll definitely watch it instead of through a stream.

Those two scores made no sense. I thought it was a clear 29-28 Perez. Perez had maybe 20 good seconds in the first round...towards the end. And yeah if that Rd 3 was a 10-8, then there probably should've been like 20 more 10-8s given in the last month's of fights

I had a small bet on Rivera and on a cpl dk lineups. In retrospect...not quite sure why

Let's go Brown

didn't see that coming with brown, glad a stayed away. he made a nice recovery after getting blasted in the 5th second but dam that liver kick was nasty

Think a body shot is what hurt Brown bad early vs Erick Silva too. Long body to defend and he's not the most mobile. Sucks

PuertoRican   United States. Jul 31 2016 04:57. Posts 13051

Underdogs are 2-0 during the last 3 fights.

Lawler vs. Woodley is next.

Nice little makeup for me on Karolina. That clinch work to the body was pretty brutal. Imagine she's a bit too hittable in space against joanna but should be a fun one.

PuertoRican   United States. Jul 31 2016 05:21. Posts 13051

Matt Brown basically fucked most of my teams, and I needed Lawler to win to guarantee I would at least break even, and of course Woodley won in R1.

Fuck PPV cards...

think wonderboy will win, tyrone probably his most dangerous opponent though.

had my main bets on Robbie but glad I hedged with tyrone RD1 and RD2

traxamillion   United States. Jul 31 2016 05:27. Posts 10468

feel like wonderboy will hold that belt forever unless he gets 1 hitter quittered and that's what tyrone brings

also heard some shit about lawler being potentially off the juice

Solid predicting.

whamm!   Albania. Jul 31 2016 05:28. Posts 11625

well that was going to be how woodley would win, caught him with a sledgehammer gg lawler. the belt's going to change hands more and more that USADA has levelled the playing field a bit. Wonderboy's distance, accuracy and elusiveness could be enough for him to take the belt as well.

PuertoRican   United States. Jul 31 2016 05:45. Posts 13051

Invested $52 on DK, won +$42, total loss = -$10.

Matt Brown essentially screwed me tonight. I planned for almost everything tonight, and the one thing I didn't expect to happen ended up happening. After Brown lost, I needed Lawler to win so I could turn a profit, but of course Woodley won in R1.

I spent so much time researching fights in July, and I kept coming up with small losses most of the time. Hopefully August is better to me.

There's a card next weekend: UFC Fight Night: Yair Rodriguez vs. Alex Caceres
Several fun fights on the card.

Woodley refusing to fight Wonderboy next in the post fight. Instead calling out the Diaz's so he can 'go get that money'. Who knew he'd try to match make for himself as champion too

Hendo vs Bisping and now Woodley vs Diaz lol...

Pretty ridiculous that Lawler had his left hand down in the 1st round for fucks sake, all he had to do was keep his left up for 2 rounds and then he wins.

Rofl looking for that ez paycheck. I feel it. shouldn't really be up to him though and after he fights nick he can still fight wonderboy in nov-december. wonderboy should not have to fight lawler next. he shoulda had tonight's title shot over tyrone already. tyrone was the 4th contender and hadn't fought in 1.5 years...

On the brightside Wonderboy probably hasnt reached prime he is only going to get better so it might be even better for him to have another fight before the title

Nick diaz beating Woodly and getting the title @ufc202 will be the nuts :D

lucky331   . Jul 31 2016 15:13. Posts 1124

diaz or gsp is not gonna happen. it's just woodley's way to get more attention and draw a huge crowd for his next fight. so yes, expect him to talk a lot of shit from here on forth. he's no connor mcgregor though.

Spitfiree   Bulgaria. Jul 31 2016 19:42. Posts 9634

Why are you guys mentioning Diaz vs Woodley @ UFC 202 ? Did McGregor pull out ? Since Nick is still suspended.

Tbh i want McGregor to beat Diaz and then fight GSP would be perfect :D If he loses he s probably gonna go back to fighting Aldo, otherwise he might just forfeit the title there and move up permanently

Wonderboy handles distance simply too well for Woodley to connect with the right, he isnt even going to be close, it will be like his fight vs Rory McDonald but he will take even more punishment.

I dont know if Woodley can rought him up with dirty boxing against the cage or something but since I havent even seen Woodley try that out Ill assume he wont even go for it, he is drawing dead vs Thompson

Strange people think Woodley is this monster now. Still the same guy who barely won a split over a Kelvin half dead from weight cutting and got completely schooled by Rory like he was a child. One punch over a guy who's been in a ton of wars lately and been hurt badly several times on top of almost certainly coming off PEDs and looking smaller doesn't change that. I mean I'm sure he's improved some but I haven't seen any evidence to suggest there's been a big leap in skill.

Woodley striking isn't much different than Roy Nelsons lol. I mean he's more technical with his right hand but thats about all hes got. Plod forward and try to land his overhand right. Very small chance he lands that on Wonderboy. Even if he is able to get a few takedowns early he will gas and Wonderboy will end him between rounds 3-5.

Sounds like Woodleys next opponent is GSP. Honestly wouldn't be shocked if Woodley beat him with an early KO. GSP wrestling looked much worse after his knee injury. His explosiveness was significantly worse. Since then hes had another major knee injury and several years off and has exited his physical prime at 35. That said Woodleys striking still sucks and as shown in the Rory & Shields fights the jab completely shuts him down, and GSP has a great jab. I'd favor GSP obviously, not sure by how much though. Too many variables with his time off.

Hey Im slinging mad volume and fat stackin benjies I dont got time for spellin n shit - skinny peteLast edit: 02/08/2016 22:40

we'll see. i hope that fight happens. woodley already has proven most "experts" wrong vs lawler.
