Vibrations detected in China Japan and elsewhere of a 5.1 earthquake very close to the surface. N Korean state media announces first Hbomb test.
Will this be enough to trigger an invasion by South Korea + allies to end the Korean war? and if said invasion takes place, will it be fought entirely using drone planes and tanks piloted by ex-starcraft players? |

I wouldn't take anything North Korea says publicly as factual information |

They've got a nuclear weapon since decades probably, doesn't change a thing plus the geopolitical situation is quite complicated there so they can't just go to war with them |

Can't just South Korea build enough turrets to detect their ghosts? |

Also, changes nothing, they do this every few years, usually a test of ballistic missiles follows. They just want to put pressure on others in exchange for aid and stuff. |

a totalitarian country with no food and scant money - that they get and spend in the drug and arms trades - has a nuclear weapons program, nothing to worry about here folks |

that is the case with Iran, Pakistan, India etc, I dont think it applies with North Korea, they are so absolutely delusional it wouldnt be surprising they actually think they have a chance in a war |

Not sure who s more ignorant, the north koreans or the people that believe the articles about North Korea they send rockets to the sun and such ( and believe in them i mean that the people there believe that )
The info we get about them is just as trustworthy as the info they get about the rest of the world
Baal that post was just ... Even if they are that delusional .. and thats quite an ignorant statement - do you think such a country exists without anyone's support? The support of someone that matters that is ? Do you know how geopolitical influences are ran with proxies ? |

At what point did I state that North Korea didnt have anyones support? what do proxies have to do with what I said at all?
Kim Jong-Un was born was born as part of a divine family, to consider him a rational man who is perfectly aware of his military and geopolitical position is very naive, I think you greatly underestimate the potential extent of the damage done by his upbringing.
North Korea has proved more than once that it is not Chinas lap dog, and if push comes to shove Chinas opinion is irrelevant and the decision will fall into a disturbed 32yo man.

I've experienced living under a dictatorship so I know that a silent majority would love it if their leader was murdered. Something people just don't talk about out in the open. |

Arent there any underground movements that plot those kind of things in NK? Or are they so on lockdown with social control that they do not stand a chance?

Even if there are, and I highly doubt it, they will be super weak. As far as i understand the situation is like in Orwell's 1984 - except not so advanced technology-wise. There is a total control over the population in every aspect of their lives.
Baal what i meant was, the second they try to do something of a big magnitude without China's approval - they ll have democracy brought to them. Plus I'm sure Japan/China/Russia/USA could instantly deal with any rocket NK has before it reaches anything. Just because they have a nuke doesn't mean they have a good enough technology to put it to use. It's kind of a bad timing though, since thats the only region in the world thats still not under USA's control and it was expected that there would be disputes there. Will be interesting from a political point of view how China deals with that |
