- Two fights, Rick Story vs. Erick Silva and Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Nikita Krylov were originally expected to take place at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Romero. However, on June 19, it was announced that several bouts would be postponed and moved to other events as international fighters experienced travel restrictions due to technical issues within the Bureau of Consular Affairs division of the U.S. State Department, which produces travel visas. The two pairings were left intact and were rescheduled for this event. On August 11, an injury forced Story out of the bout and Neil Magny stepped in to take his place. Magny had previously fought only 22 days before the event, when he was defeated by Demian Maia at UFC 190.
- Chris Wade was expected to face Olivier Aubin-Mercier at the event. However, Wade pulled out of the bout in late July after sustaining an injury and was replaced by Tony Sims.
- Sean O'Connell was expected to face UFC newcomer Misha Cirkunov at the event. However, O'Connell pulled out of the bout on August 11 due to undisclosed reasons and was replaced by another UFC newcomer in Daniel Jolly.

Huge on Holloway.
Chuck won't be able to fight his fight vs the guy with superior movement, output, cardio, striking, power, chin.
I'll be nervous if Chuck is getting easy body-lock takedowns and is able to play the submission game but I'm pretty sure Max will be well prepared and smart enough to stay well away from that shenanigans.
Oliveria's Jiu Jitsu is magical but anyone decent he has subbed has been a straight wrestler or grappler who engage with him for extended periods of time on the mat.

If you're bored, CES MMA 30 is gonna be on AXS TV tonight (Friday the 14th) at 6pm PST/9pm EST/2:00 LP.net time.
I'm not familiar with CES, but they have some low level fighters who I know about, and since the fight is on television, there should be at least 2 or so entertaining fights.
Julian Lane vs. Luis Felix (CES Lightweight Championship)
Matt Bessette vs. Lenny Wheeler
Dinis Paiva vs. Chino Duran
Patrick Walsh vs. Jesse McElligott
Dan Lauzon vs. Chip Moraza-Pollard
Andres Jeudi vs. Leon Davis
Peggy Morgan vs. Jessica Miele
Gary Balletto Jr. vs. Anthony Giacchina
Rico DiSciullo vs. Jake Constant
Manny Bermudez vs. Mak Kelleher
Chris Caterino vs. Jacob Smith

While I was very impressed by him in his recent outings, I feel like Holloway will have trouble staying away from the grappling of Oliveira. He is going to be in big disadvantage there.

So far I have
Magny $30 at +155
Burkman vs Cote $140 at -140 on it going to decision
$67,50 on Burkman winning the fight at -135
I would have loved Holloway at -185, but he's around -220 now so don't think I'll go for that. Obviously small bets so not really confident in them.
You almost twin-caracked his AK - JonnyCosmo

Magny vs Silva is a really weird fight.
Nothing would surprise me.
My heart is completely sure Silva is going to win, but my head tells me that's ridiculous and that Silva should be closer to a pickem vs all decent WW, especially those with gas tanks.
I'm staying away, I think it's a really nuanced fight that really depends on whether Magny will actually have a decent gameplan or not on short notice and I have no clue.

Silva is really exploitative, he looks best against bums, and just off the fact that Magny is no bum, I like him at these odds. Although I feel the same way heart/head.

I wouldn't call this a value betat all. It looks like a standard prop that is priced at over +2000 because it's very unlikely it will hit.
Betting split-decision props is kinda of a fish move, especially two separate bets on the same split-decision prop.
Good luck either way.

Most robberies are splits, I just looked up 2014 and 2015 biggest robberies and it was mostly splits (which makes sense considering it's a close fight where at least 1 judge sees it correctly many more times than all 3 seeing it wrong, that's just basic probability theory and if you don't understand that concept you are probably a losing gambler - although I also probably worded that very poorly).
The robbery rate on lighter-weight fights alone nearly touches 3-5 percent (more go to decision + more parody), so split that in two and that's already close to the bet itself.
I am getting the bet at 3.5 percent implied odds.
Then you take into account an arbitrary amount of times that this is a back and forth close fight that is also more than likely a split, again, basic probabilities with an odd number of judges. You think that number is less than a percent? I'd call you a fish if you thought that.
But if you want to actually explain with logic why the odds are poor, I'd be open-minded to re-evaluating my thought process, instead of just stating your opinion.
It might very well be a fish bet, but I'd like to be convinced.
especially two separate bets on the same split-decision prop.
PS Wtf does two separate bets matter, they were 1 minute apart and I realized I wanted to put a full unit on it instead of half - how can that possibly affect the bet itself when the odds are exactly the same, what a ridiculous statement.
think you are being too tough on soberstone there with your comments PR,
he put a small bet on an unlikely outcome yes....but with big payout, its not like he dropped huge money on it
If Oliviera does end up winning not by submission, I'd lean more towards split decision as opposed to unanimous

Oliveira wins by split/majority decision is now at +1685 so I guess it probably wasn't so awful at +2525.
Also, I'm a shitty speller and meant parity, not parody.

That's a huge swing looks like that +2525 bet was def +ev. I've been betting a lot of baseball lately and movement like that doesn't exist, finding that swing would be like finding the end of a rainbow. Nice1

And you can find large odds like that several times a week on the same UFC card.
There's no point in arguing over over whether or not there's value in a split-decision line. Casual bettors will always drop money on longshot props with absurd lines, while longtime bettors know to stay away from them for the most part.
I've made several bets on such props early on in sports betting, so I speak from experience when I say it's not worth betting this particular fight to end with Oliveira by split-decision. "Fight ends via split-decision" would be a safer bet, but even then, it's not a bet I woule make or ever recommend in this fight, even at +2200.

Whatever you got me heated because all you seem to like to do is not post your bets, shit on mine consistently, and then then you also happen to be wrong for the most-part. Maybe it's variance, I have no clue, and I don't really care when it comes to why I wrote what I wrote. I don't care if you are a long time bettor and I'm a fish.
You have no respect and act like you are some kind of authority on this shit.
This is a forum. We should all be trying to crush lines together or root for one another.
Who cares, terrible bet, just don't see why you'd point it out with no actual rationale besides "these props are for fish, i know from experience". Cool story. How about explaining why the theory I laid out isn't valid. Maybe it's not. I don't know. I'm a fish.

Sure they do on some random prop like the prop stone is betting here.
And that doesn't even matter i'm just talking relative movement. You will rarely get any baseball bet for half the price it opens.
Again that further reinforces my point about line movement and profitability; MMA is a much more beatable sport vs ur average book than baseball. Books are obviously far less sharp on fighting and just try to get equal amounts on both side of a fight for the most part. Books take on more variance with less vig in baseball because their 'skill edge' (access to data basically) is larger there

1. I don't like to post my bets? You've never seen me post my bets, right? Right???... This first line sounds like you're butt-hurt and are just typing nonsense, as you know damn well I post my bets. You can go back and see 50+ MMA threads where I post my bets. I haven't bet the last 2 UFC cards, which is why I haven't posted my bets. School just started today, so I'm on my break from researching any fights, and thus on a break from betting till December, which I think is when the Aldo/McGregor card is.
2. Regarding your bets, I offer my feedback, whether your picks are good or bad. I don't sugarcoat anything, so if you made a bad bet, I will flat-out tell you it's a shitty bet. I have given you praise on bets I liked of yours, so that can't be disputed. If you want constructive criticism on a bet, post here and ask us (the entire thread) what we think about a bet before you actually put money down on it.
3. I do have a lot of wrong bets, but I also have a lot of right bets, especially via live-betting, so what does that matter? Again, this is you being butt-hurt.
4. You're right, this is a forum, and we should be trying to crush lines together. This back-and-forth came about when I said I didn't like your prop bet, and that it's a bad bet, which I still stand by. I gave my criticism on the bet, which is me trying to work with you from wasting money on props. It may be a small bet, but if you make a bunch of small bets on long-shot props that don't hit, then there's a problem, and losing money is what I'm trying to stop you from doing.
5. For why your prop bet of "Oliveira wins by 5 round split/maj dec +2525" is bad, you can start by asking yourself how you think this fight will go. 1) Do you really think this fight will go 5-rounds? 2) Do you see the holes in both fighters' games, which can be exploited by the other fighter if both aren't at their very best? 3) Do you know how rare it is for a split-decision to happen in a 5-round fight? There's other factors, but these are just the three that popped into my head first.
All of this could've probably been avoided if I didn't use the word "fish" in my original statement, but like I previously stated, I don't sugarcoat anything, and I stand by my original statement. Also, I feel like I'm seeing the true version of you, it's kinda funny in a way. You think I'm hating on you so much, so you let loose your real true feelings.
Anyway, to be clear, I actually want your prop bets and all of your other bets to cash. I started these threads to get people interested in the sport, and I post my bets for people to see what I'm doing right or wrong so they can follow or do the opposite. I also constantly post updates in the weekly UFC threads of stuff I find useful for betting (there's actually a lot more stuff out there that's useful, I just don't have the time to collect it all, which is why it would be nice if you guys posted stuff too). The goal here is to enjoy MMA and hopefully win money (if you're into betting), so as long as you know I feel that way, you shouldn't feel the need to question me again in the future, cuz I have no reason to hate on anyone here and wish them any ill will.

Nope not really anything that hasn't been said. Only on Holloway. Agree that Silva/Magny is a weird fight where I wouldn't be confident either way. Chose Silva for my DK lineups though. Like Moroz and to a lesser degree, Sims...but won't be playing 'em. Anyone know anything about Daniel Jolly?

Holm opened @ +950 vs rousey @ -1450
anyone is surprised with the odds ?? I thought it would be much closer, like, even thought Holm didnt impress that much she seem to be perfectly in control of the distance and I think she might give Rousey problems for this, Rousey seem to be too hitable and wild in the striking

"Fight starts round 2" will be a good bet. Rousey won't be afraid of Holm's power, and Holm has good distance management. o1.5 rounds might be good too, depending on the odds.

I don't remember every bit of the Silva vs. Koscheck fight, but what I remember is Silva being more patient than usual, which is a good thing.
Maybe his patience and less muscle mass is a sign of growth in him as a fighter, dunno.
When the fight was announced, I automatically leaned toward Magny, but since we had 2 weeks in-between UFC cards, it has given me more time to think about the fight, and I'm leaning more towards Silva now.

Is some of that shit a work? Like at 2:40 the bitch just goes down from a punch that couldn't have ko'd her. Was she just crying or what? So confused.
And what happened in the main event? That red-head was insanely hot.

Max Holloway (145) vs. Charles Oliveira (145.5)
Neil Magny (170.5) vs. Erick Silva (171)
Josh Burkman (170) vs. Patrick Cote (170)
Chad Laprise (155.5) vs. Francisco Trinaldo (155.5)
Olivier Aubin-Mercier (155) vs. Tony Sims (155.5)
Valerie Letourneau (117)* vs. Maryna Moroz (115)
Frankie Perez (155.5) vs. Sam Stout (155)
Felipe Arantes (135.5) vs. Yves Jabouin (135.5)
Nikita Krylov (205.5) vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima (205)
Chris Beal (126) vs. Chris Kelades (125.5)
Shane Campbell (155) vs. Elias Silverio (154.5)
Misha Cirkunov (205) vs. Daniel Jolly (204)
* Letourneau has one hour to cut an additional pound to the 116 pound allowance
----------
- Valerie Letourneau made weight on her second attempt.
- This is Felipe Arantes' first drop to 135 pounds, and he looked great on the scale.
- Tony Sims is back at 155 pounds for this fight, which is his normal weight class. His UFC debut was on short notice at 170, which he won. He looked good on the scales today, but not "OMG amazing."
- You can tell Misha Cirkunov will be way bigger than Daniel Jolly tomorrow. Cirkunov weighed in at 205 vs. Jolly 204, and Cirkunov was taller and much more muscular/stronger looking. I doubt Jolly will put much weight on when he re-hydrates, while Cirkunov will look like Ryan Bader on fight-day.
- The UFC will be using the big cage tomorrow.

Small bets for Magny at +170 and Oliveira at +210. I think there is value in this lines.
Silva is suspect and he didn't look very good at that weigh in. If Charles is able to drag Holloway to the ground He will dominate him there and I think he is well able to do that.

Congrats to Shane Campbell. Silverio used an annoying strategy, and I'm glad it didn't pay off.

I had that for Beal 29-28 but I'll take that decision for a cash.

Lima goes for 2 guillotines and uses all of his energy while being in a poor position to get the tap, then gets his back taken and quickly taps.
Brainless Brazilian Bruiser.

I thought the fight was stopped a little early, but Stout was wobbling a little bit when he stood up.
Time for "Hands of Stone" to retire.

That was the most random retirement I've ever seen in my entire life.

Robert Whittaker at +115 on Bookmaker vs Bisping right now. I'm throwing one of my biggest bets of the year on that. I don't see it for Bisping, I think he's gonna get mauled.

I honestly think he broke.
I have no evidence of this besides the anecdotal evidence of the Cerrone and Swanson KO's which were not KO's at all, he quit in those fights. Don't get me wrong, those were hard shots and I'd cry like a little bitch so I'm not being a keyboard warrior here... just calling a spade a spade.
He had a tough cut, didn't look he wanted to be there, ate a few hard body shots, tried to get Holloway down, didn't even come close, and broke. I am sure something was hurting, but I'm guessing a bunch of fighters would have fought through whatever it was.
Very strange, doesn't pass smell test.
That said, if I'm wrong, I hope he gets better because that sucks.
