Game of Thrones: Season 5 - Page 13

I thought this season was pretty decent. I think a lot of people expect what they personally portraid (damn is that a word? lmao) as the best possible "tvzation" (damn english im rustier than ever) of the books and end up getting frustrated when what is shown on tv is not what they previously pictured. I obv agree with Jelle when he made that post comparing what happened on s01 to s05, but i still think it's a better show than pretty much anything available atm. Looking forward to what's going to happen next season.

I haven't read any of the books, but this season was worst of all until now. A lot of crappy dialogues and meaningless scenes, but still cinematographically show is a beast. Lets hope S6 will be better. Am looking forward to True Detective S2 also.

So, after murdering JS, surely the nights watch are now hostile towards the wildlings, who outnumber the NW and have a giant. Surely the wildlings could annihilate the NW now that they dont have to contend with The Wall. Tormund and crew broke through the lower walls last season, with only a handful of men. Now there's a decent sized force of wildlings...

Unless Jon isnt dead somehow.


Im also a little suspicious that Stannis might not be dead. They didnt explicitly show him dying, and in a show like GoT that stood out to me. Cant reason why Brienne wouldnt kill him though.
He's probably dead.

Remember Syrio Forel, the guy who showed Arya Stark how to use her sword named "Needle"? GoT didn't show him die, but he had to face several guys and is no longer on the show. The show left us wondering if Syrio really died, but since that was in season 1, I think it's safe to say he's dead by now.

I like Stannis, so hopefully he isn't dead.

This really seems like the GTO here tbh, if everyone die and get resurrected as an undying immortal beings as no one will be able to use fire. Well there s only that problem with the lack of personality and having to follow the 4 horsemen wannabes

I think myrcella died. also, arya for sure killed someone. ;p I think sansa+reek and jon snow make it for sure, and probably stannis as well.

Isn't it awful that Dragons get speared so easily? I thought it would be like Smaug in Bilbo, I mean, how are the dragons gonna do shit vs 500 archers if they get so easily beaten up by human spears

I imagine the dragons would probably be flying and breathing flame on the archers. A dragon 10 metres away on the ground is way easier to hit than on that's strafing lines of terrified archers.


Why wouldn't Stannis be dead? Of all the people on the show Brienne is easily the one most likely to hold to her word when she sentenced Stannis to death. The only ways Stannis could have survived is if Brienne thought she killed him, but somehow she was wrong. That's unlikely though since she has an intimate knowledge of how to kill people.

Maybe they are still really young and squishy, but when they get to a certain age, and stop growing, they start to harden up!!

I'd bet Stannis is dead. Jon too. I read somewhere there's a theory about Jon's 'soul' being transferred to his wolf, since wargs 'sorta' have that ability - but who the fuck knows, could very well be people simply wanting him to be around. I think that's mostly the fans just hoping he'll be around again.

Anyways - in the books it was a huge 'WHOA' moment. Cuz, well, prior to that, khaleesi was trying to save slaves, save innoncents, save this, save that, then she went off on a huge acid trip in the desert and got approached by the dothraki horde right before she was about to give up and basically die. She was slightly worried at first, then her dragon showed up and it was like - 'fuck yeah, you got a kickass horse army, your shit together, and the world to conquer' type feeling.

It was more of an army in supreme bliss at the appearance of their long lost queen imo. If that's correct, I'm certain Daenerys is gonna be a bit of a warring bitch next season(s)/book

@Baal - Agreed. "My face is the last thing you'll see before you die". I don't doubt her. Although her power is severely diminished.. her son is still the king ffs. She'll get some modicum of revenge I bet. Man that scene was awesome/brutal. Ironic since it was her that gave them the power to begin with to deal with a small problem. The show didn't portray it quite as well, but the books show in vivid detail just how much she horribly fucked up ruling the realm. She sucked, big-time.

i'm thinking the dothraki will try to ransom dany next book/season. What else would they do with her?

Stannis and Snow are dead forever, not sure why people would think they are going to live. No one can resurrect snow(he will likely be burnt next season so his corpse cant come back), mel has said she can't resurrect people. brienne hates stannis more than anything, and usually when someone sentences someone to death, then swing a sword at them, the other person dies. So Stannis is dead. I would bet monies on both of them being dead.

The lannisters seem finished, they have no gold left and cersei is a paranoid jelous wreck. The ironbank will switch from stannis to a new house to overthrow them.

Whats interesting is that the Baratheons are completely wiped out except for bastards, so im wondering which house will take over there.

yeah agreed, I am expecting king's landing to be a really terrible place to be next season, with a frankenstein's monster mountain about to be unleashed by an incredible vindictive person wronged in about as humiliating manner as can be. and the walk of shame was a pretty powerful scene - made lots of people suddenly kinda cheer for someone who had very few prior supporters. ;p

We can do a little side bet that Jon Snow won't be dead next book/season :D

Also it's not about what the dorthraki will do with Daenerys, but what will Daenerys will do to the dorthraki. Will she be able to take command of them and run over her enemies or will she have to escape/force Drogon the burn them all

This isn't true though, there are just some blatant things that people wouldn't do. For example, it's absolutely ludicrous that Jaime Lannister and Bronn would go to Dorne to steal back Myrcella. It's baffling, there is 100% no way anybody would think thats a good idea; in feudalism if you were caught with Jaime/Bronn stealing a ward back to KL, it's auto-war with a nice hostage besides. Jaime has no idea how to infiltrate anything. They would much rather send a professional to do it, then use plausible deniability to defuse a war situation.

And it was put in there for no reason, they go, they leave.

One of the best things about GoT was in it's ability to tell a story with morally-grey characters that has things happen to them of their own doing. The little things that they do wrong that spell their end. The show doesn't get any of that across in this season for Stannis/Jon + Sansa rape scene (wat.); just written for pure shock value with no believable motivations behind it. Season 5 was the worst of all the seasons.
