Always try to grow and improve if it makes you happy, if you like doing the same shit and being safe, then do that because that's cool too. Don't try and follow people and be like them unless you think it will make you happier then you are now, not everyone is a leader, I find most people are very satisfied with following someone they look up to, this is probably why our society is built with this structure.
K - I just read about your MCL tear. This is a good moment for you in your life, since you are likely feeling like shit, a bit depressed and physically nut low. Never forget the way you feel and are right now (write it down somewhere or record a video of yourself to remind your future self), and think of a list of things that you cannot currently do and want to do once you get better. When things start to turn around start accomplishing the goals you set out, and remember that you never want to feel that poorly again .Whenever you are feeling down or unmotivated in the future think back to yourself right now and use that as motivation to move forward, almost like squeezing an open wound to gain momentum when you are feeling lazy. A satisfied need is not a motivator, when I think bad to a few key moments in my life (nut low moments) I always seem to find what I need to push forward.
