First thoughts:

• Henderson vs. Khabilov (I know everything about Henderson but, I don't know anything about Khabilov despite having seen all 3 of his UFC fights. My memory goes to shit when it comes to these Russian fighters. People say +200 for Khabilov is great, considering Henderson is always in close fights.)
• Pearson > Sanchez (Diego is the hometown favorite in this fight, and the altitude is high in Albuquerque. Skill wise, I favor Pearson. Aside from the complete robbery in Japan against Gomi, Diego hasn't won a fight in over 3 years.)
• Dodson > Moraga
• RDA > High
• Hallman > Edwards (I think Hallman will grind it out, maybe pressuring against the fence. Yves doesn't impress me anymore.)
• Perez > Caraway (Hard fight to pick. Perez is the hometown favorite even though he's from Mexico. He also has the cardio advantage and trains at high altitude every day. Caraway can easily snatch up a submission, but his striking sucks though.)
• Pettis > Meza (I wouldn't be surprised if Meza won via pressure, or if Meza slipped up and got finished. I think either Meza by decision or Pettis ITD.)
• Voelker > Benoist (I never bet against Voelker, even though he's lost all of his UFC fights.)
• Jorgensen vs. Martinez (Jorgensen is beyond washed up but, I don't know anything about Martinez.)
• Tuck > Lindsey
• Cummins > Narvaez

$537.50 on Henderson at -215
$662.50 on Dos Anjos at -265

Nothing too complicated I think both guys are really good and hard to upset and felt that the lines were off when they came out.

Cummings is -380 I would consider betting him as well once the line comes out elsewhere. In the minute he was still standing I was extremely impressed with him against Cormier.

Would be good for the division if Khabilov wins, since if Henderson does he ll request another title fight and honestly who would want to see that once more...

Also fuck Jon Jones - he refuses to fight Gustafson again, he supposedly wants to fight Cormier.

Also this card is so much better than last weekends German and Brazil cards. For a UFN I actually like this one a lot.

If Benson won this weekend and then asked for a title fight, he knows he wouldn't get one until sometime in 2015. Pettis is coaching against Gilbert on the next season of TUF, and that won't start for awhile since the UFC is already in the middle of a season of TUF with Penn and Edgar. Pettis won't fight Gilbert until the end of this year.

Also, Benson might get the Jon Fitch treatment since he already loss 2 times to Pettis, and everybody knows it since the Showtime Kick off the cage was what they used to hype their 2nd fight. It didn't help Benson's case that he received his black belt in BJJ a month or so before their second fight, and easily got submitted in the first round against a purple belt who's known mainly as a flashy striker.

Good to see a good card after those shitty cards from last weekend. This seems a good card to bet on.

Just added another bet this one on Cummins $787.50 at -315. Going to be an exciting card for betting~

No way I'd pay -300 or worse for Cummins. I'd rather take his ITD line, whatever it is. I don't think this will go 3 full rounds.

Anyone like Diego at +160? And did anyone happen to catch this gem:

"I was like, ‘I'm so ready, I can have whatever I want.' And I ate a super raw steak and I had a beef tartare with a quail egg as my appetizer. You know the age-old thing? The age-old boxers, like, if you eat blood, it's going to make you an animal? That was my mindset, as stupid as it is. I look back and I'm like... man, you're an idiot sometimes."

His reason for his shitty performance in his last fight in which I actually had a small bet against him on Myles Jury. I'd chalk it up to crying with some crazy fabricated excuse if it were anyone but Diego. But since it's him, I kind of believe him. After laughing for a couple seconds.

Obviously not the best reason to bet on someone, esp since he's looked like crap without being incredibly stupid on fight week. 2nd reason being that he might be in the minority of fighters that fights better off emotion and this is his 'homecoming' fight. 3rd being that I think Ross Pearson just kinda sucks. He looked really slow in the couple minutes I saw him fighting Guillard...then you look up and down his match history and his best win is like...George Sotoropolis?

PuertoRican   United States. Jun 03 2014 16:29. Posts 13047

If I were gonna bet Diego/Ross, I'd bet o2.5 or goes to Decision. Ross has better striking imo, but Diego has better wrestling and BJJ. Ross won't knock Diego out, and Diego hasn't finished a fight in years and doesn't have a ton of power.

Both Gilbert and Myles laid the blueprint on how to beat Diego, which is the same way you beat Nate Diaz; stick and move at angles and don't get caught up in the moments when Diego/Nate talk shit to get their opponents to stand and trade. Gilbert got dropped for standing and trading, while Myles made Diego look like shit by striking from the outside and constantly moving.

Aside from the robbery against Gomi in Japan, Diego hasn't won a fight in over 3 years.

This should go the distance.

Rekrul is a newb

iakim322   United States. Jun 03 2014 18:02. Posts 1335

I don't think Gilbert and Myles laid the blueprint at all. It was already there before.

The 'Diego hasn't won a fight in over 3 years'....you're putting way too much stock into that also. If any stock should be put into that at all.

Since 2011:

Diego's opponents: Kampmann, Ellenberger, Gomi, Melendez, Jury
Pearson's opponents: Barboza, Assuncao, Swanson, Sotoropolis, Ryan Couture, Guillard

Diego's opponents: elite, borderline elite or in the case of Gomi...once was. Even still, Gomi would be on a 4 fight win streak w/o that robbery. And Diego took a round from each of them besides Jury.

Pearson's opponents: Two guys who were released right after their losses to Pearson (not the greatest sign you've just faced the best)...one who was only ever there because of his last name. A 145 lb'er who ktfo'd Pearson in the 2nd round (Swanson). And a guy who is actually 2-5-1 in his last 8 fights who made Pearson look like a slow mummy in the two minutes they fought (Guillard).

Not to say you can predict fights by looking at past match history...at all...but saying Diego hasn't really won a fight in x years isn't really a valid point when every opponent he's faced during that time is > anyone Pearson has ever faced. Maybe if Diego's schedule wasn't so tough because of his popularity. Or maybe if you were talking about some prodigy breaking onto the scene or something. Pearson is not that.

I feel like there's not a lot to exploit (lines wise) on this card, at least on who's gonna win. I don't fux with props much, even though I'm sure theyre profitable, I just find it fun to bet on someone and root for them.

While Meza isn't "terrible," he isn't good either. Baby Pettis has some work to do to justify the hype though. He would have won the fight against Caceres via decision if that sub didn't happen.

Yah I was actually thinking of someone in a completely different weightclass, the guy who lost to Jim Miller - Mediros. Anyway, I have no clue about Meza, he could be terrible for all I know.

Not sure about this. Caceres def won round 2 and was on his way to winning round 3 and thus on his way to winning the decision imo.

Alex Caceres doesn't really get enough credit. He should be 7-0 at BW right now. Though sadly Faber is gonna murderize him.

Caceres also definitely looked a full weight-class about Sergio, he outweighed him by a clear 10-15 lbs (which is sorta a lot at 135). I'll be interested to see if he fills out and looks bigger tonight.

Sergio is a natural flyweight fighter. He spent most of his career there, but he chose to fight at 135 in the UFC cuz he knows he would get raped by the guys at flyweight who are much faster than him. He'll usually be the smaller guy as long as he fights at 135 in the UFC.

Sergio (5'6, 70 inch reach) vs. Meza (5'9, 71 inch reach)
Sergio (5'6, 70 inch reach) vs. Caceres (5'9, 70 inch reach)
Sergio (5'6, 70 inch reach) vs. Campuzano (5'9, 70 inch reach)

Campuzano is a seasoned veteran and is a decent fighter. Caceres is a fighter that evolves in every fight. Meza just isn't good.

If Sergio implements his game plan, he should easily beat Meza. However, Meza trains at the MMA Lab with Benson Henderson and John Moraga, so they should have a good game plan for him tonight. If they're smart, they will have taught Meza had to wall-n-stall against the cage and get take downs to grind a win, or else he'll get TKO`ed by a head kick.

All of the prelim and main card fights are on Fox Sports 1, which most cable companies have in America. Only the Cummins/Narvaez fight was on Fight Pass.

Also, there's better streams to watch the UFC fights, so just look through the different options at Vipbox. I only used that original link cuz it was for Fight Pass.

Cummins looked like shit. Narvaez stopped multiple take downs but, both guys were gassed and the referee stopped the fight kinda early.

Tuck vs. Lindsey was also kinda crappy, as both guys gassed. Tuck gassed 3 minutes into round 1.

People thought that the altitude in Albuquerque would be a problem, but so far, all of the fighters have looked terrible. Fighters like Benson and Diego should have a bigger edge now, although Ross Pearson trains a lot in that mask where it makes it hard to breathe.

I just added $5 to Danny Martinez at +200. imo, Jorgensen is done. I dunno anything about Martinez though, aside from him being young and not shop-worn like Jorgensen. I'll try to live bet if it's available.

Yeah, I still call it an early stoppage. The punches landed weren't even heavy, since Cummins was tired. You should watch the fight whenever it's available.

As for Jorgensen, he still looked like a washed up fighter today, and almost got stopped twice. He wrestle fucked his way to a victory and he knows it.

----------

I got Voelker here at -119.

----------

Another terrible fight due to the altitude... Voelker with the failed lateral drop in the 3rd only to get mounted for most of the round.

Okay guys, so at least we know one thing about Rustam: If he can't muscle his opponent around, then he can't do shit in the fight.

Great night for betting. Some nice matchups and fights but the altitude does make an event worse to watch from home.

For anyone who is the mood to give some pity fucks, I had a big parlay with Pettis, Dodson, and Pearson. I was in a room full of casuals/girls and the decision was read and I had to pretend not to give a fuck, I just looked across the room to my one buddy who knows fights and knew about my bet and watch his shit eating grin. What a dick. What a shitty moment.

I feel like calling the Jorgensen fight a 'wrestle fuck' is waay underselling it... it was a really fun fight, his wrestling was super active, wrestle fuck to me implies something less aggressive and more negative.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..

From what I saw, Jorgensen didn't have much for Martinez on the feet, as he got wobbled 2-3 times, and got dropped during one of those exchanges. Jorgensen kept resorting to his wrestling so he could stop his opponent from hitting him, where he then laid on top and didn't do much while on top imo.

Jorgensen might not have wrestle fucked his way to a victory, but he used it in a way that allowed him to stop getting hit in the face and catch his breath and clear his head, which ultimately won him the fight in the judges eyes. If the fight was scored on damage, then Jorgensen would have lost, but I digress.

Hm, I really strongly disagree, I thought his wrestling was fucking awesome, and that it was a pretty clear win.

Maybe I'll watch it again, but I thought he did good. The biggest problem standing seemed to be his questionable chin/defense.
