And at 22 that means he went all 4 years of his college career to one of the biggest party schools in California/USA without being able to participate at all. Never once joining in the fun or even making a simple friend, but seeing what he wants all around him. I can understand the suicidal self loathing and misguided hatred. The extreme sense of worthlessness and abject failure as a man he had to endure. Most of those losers just go play WoW though so this guy must have been kinda crazy as well. And what did he expect; scrawny 135 lb pound half Asian kid who dresses like a fag and thinks he is hot shit because dad bought him a BMW Obviously he got no ass. Probably a 3 inch wang to boot. He did have some friends, he did go to some parties, after all, he got his ass beat the fuck down at them. I blame his parents, for telling him at such a young age that he wasn't to be, that the only reason he is alive is because his mother was sick which made the birth control ineffective and decided to have some fun. Don't you think that's a bit fucked up to tell your child? Probably stressed his brain out to the point of no return. Maybe that's how you came to be, trax... I remember your mom was feeling a little under the weather. Should people be worried about you?

I was born before my parents were married (or at least conceived might have been born after) so yea it is entirely possible I was unplanned or even an accident I don't know never really thought about it. I'm here now so why would I care. I don't worry too much about all that existential stuff and enjoy life. I don't care whether my parents planned for me or wanted me I just care that I made it.

This kid so sooooooooooo normal just got set up with a bad environment and didn't come across the key before it was too late. Really sad story for the all parties involved.

but yeah, just about every news source makes it sound as if the kids' parents reported him to the police, sent him to psychiatrists and otherwise did everything in their power to seek help for him. it doesn't appear as if his family was in denial that he was psychotic. i guess it brings up more questions, such as, what can the police really do. i mean, they can talk to him, search his room or whatever but if they find no weapons and he doesn't make any threats while they're around they can't put 24/7 surveillance on someone just because their parents say they might be dangerous.

i think everyone grew up or knew someone who was really borderline crazy or you could think may be capable of something like this, but obviously the vast majority don't carry it out. i'm really curious how he got access to the guns - i'm not 100% on how the law is in California but iirc it's extremely difficult to even purchase a pistol in that state. i'm trying to imagine if i knew this kid IRL how i'd think of him. i really don't think i'd take his videos and such seriously.

I'm guessing he probably never even tried to really pursue girls, probably waiting for some sort of "moment" where he has an "in" and it just happens automatically. I was watching some lame TV drama last night and there's this nerdy new kid at school, and these hot girls are inexplicably hitting on him. At first I thought it was some sort of troll, like the girls were going to make fun of him at the prom later or whatever. But no, these bombshells genuinely want his dick. But that shits not realistic. My guess is he probably watched a lot of crap like that and thought thats how it works. Go to school, make eye contact with a cheerleader in math class, and suddenly she's hitting on you and winking, fade to party getting drunk, fade to bedroom with her head bobbing up and down in your lap, etc. He probably has no idea what it means to get into a relationship with someone. And what's annoying is that he's not even ugly looking or anything. He could have easily found a 6 or maybe even a 7 to date him, which is what leads me to think he never even tried.

Oh well at least he's dead now, fuck him.

Seems like most of it likely stems from childhood. Terrible parents and abandonment issues. Some unsubstantiated claims of really nasty abuse from his step-mom would seem to support his hatred for hot women. His manifesto even says that his dad must be the type to get a lot of women bc it was so easy for him to get a hot live-in girlfriend months after the divorce of his parents. He doesn't even consider the possibility that his dad had an affair with this woman and then she moved in. Also, every single traumatic event in his manifesto is prepared with nothing. In other words his parents never prepared him for any event, so scary trauma lurked around every corner in his childhood. (His mom told him he was going to summer camp the morning that he was to go for a week or w/e at a young age, his dad told him this lady is moving in with us before he ever met her, etc) Stuff like that in childhood ruins people's perceptions. Not saying he wasn't unstable due to chemical imbalances or w/e too, but his parents are definitely to blame, because of all of the neglect.

Some more neglect examples: when he was 4 years old on a family vacation he was left at the bottom of a tall castle tower while 4 adults went to the top and he touched a cactus while they were up there and got hurt. Also when his brother was 1 year old at a party at their house the kid wandered over to the pool, fell in and started drowning. No parent noticed and he saved his life. Just terrible parenting all around.

Regarding police/parents reporting, seems like after a kid started saying he was gonna kill a bunch of ppl on his youtube channel, the police and his parents could have easily subscribed to his channel just in case it happened again. And he did upload another video 2 hours before any killing, so it all could have been prevented in that last cry for attention.

It's possible that his lifestyle/childhood played an issue but I think there's also room to give credit to his being mentally ill from the get go. There's a lot of people with poor lifestyles and abusive home lives who don't turn to murder obviously.

Didn't see anything about abusive step-mom, and without jumping to conclusions an abusive mother or mother figure does seem to be common in serial killers / spree killers who target women - although it is a bit odd as this guy was so whacked that it appeared he was willing to kill just about anybody and only slightly preferred a certain demographic target.

I recall reading that his parents were subscribed to his youtube channel, or they otherwise came across it which led to them first calling the police. Did he make a new youtube channel for the more recent videos? I honestly have no idea, but if not you're right that they definitely dropped the ball not paying attention to his social media.

iirc, the last video he posted was actually set up specifically to upload right before he went on to commit the killings so it wasn't a lot of forewarning in that regard.
