PokerStars today announced the return of the Moneymaker Tour ‘Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC’, celebrating Chris Moneymaker’s fairytale 2003 win. Moneymaker, an accountant from Tennessee, became a global star overnight when he qualified for the World Series of Poker Main Event for $86 at PokerStars. He ultimately won the live tournament for $2.5 million, inspiring a generation of poker fans.

Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC expands upon the success of 2018, when thousands of players competed in 11 U.S. cities for a chance to win a Platinum Pass for free entry into the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC). Gym owner Ramon Colillas, now dubbed ‘The Spanish Moneymaker’, turned his free Platinum Pass into $5.1 million in the inaugural, record-breaking event. The tour kicks off in October and will feature stops in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Sochi and additional destinations, with at least one PSPC 2020 Platinum Pass awarded at each stop.

The first Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC will take place during European Poker Tour (EPT) Open Sochi in October. The RUB10,500 (approx. $166) buy-in event will play out across three days, from October 11-13, with the winner taking home a coveted Platinum Pass worth more than $30,000.

“The Moneymaker Road to PSPC gives players the opportunity to win big and have a great time without traveling too far from home,” said Moneymaker. “There are not enough words to explain how much fun was had on last year’s tour, I can’t wait to get back out there. Playing poker and hanging out with people who love the game is memorable enough, then add in the Platinum Pass and opportunity to potentially change someone’s life... it’s going to be awesome!”

Each Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC stop will vary in duration and buy-in, and each will add a Platinum Pass to the prizepool to be awarded to the event winner.

The schedule so far:
