How does DN have weight in stars policy?

He's a PR tool, not a board member. This is a large corporation, how the fuck does their PR guy dictate their policy?

Idk if it was Joeys podcast or somewhere else. But I specifically remember Dnegs saying on some podcast that he does have some influence in policy. I doubt that Dnegs is strictly a PR guy.

Also I assume Baal has some idea what he's talking about as he was involved the Pokerstars.

Does he baal? Do you Have that info? Because from what I've seen there's always been a lag in his responses, always says he's talking to stars only to come out with statements that seem like a PR meeting round table about a done deal decided by execs.

Like that clip from poker after dark where he just parroted the same statement that appeared in pokernews with the textbook PR tactic of taking something bad (big price increase in MTTs) and packaging it with something small but positive, they even took the pretty aggressive approach of using the hour tourneys nobody cared about as a really transparent promotion instead of something small that actually matters, that article was almost comically obvious.

I dunno guys, I worked in sales, corporate world, media company, studied business for years.
I've been in a company that was acquired and it felt like hunger games with people leaving weekly yet all official statements were these positive spins. That's a big reason why I play poker - I can say whatever the fuck I want and be true to myself, and what Stars and Dregs are doing seems completely normal and how big businesses operate to me, why it's hard for me to understand why you guys bring so much emotion into hating Dregs or Stars

dnegs owns a % of the company right? He is a significant stockholder from what i've heard [from polk/joey], and basically the company has to maximise profit for it's stockholders, that's what corporations are legally obligated to do. He probably doesn't look at stars policy too much but being a stockholder makes him influential in them.

your argument seems to be:

1: It's normal
2: Therefore why get mad over it.

you can't see how that's a bad argument just by looking at intuitive counterexamples with similar logical form?

It shouldn't really be surprising as well, it is a cross cultural norm through history that propagandists, sophists, false prophets, or w/e you want to call them have been hated by those whose interests they undermined once people learnt what they were about.
