Canadian poker player would like to add new WSOP bracelets to his collection. Daniel Negreanu presented his tournament plans for the year. He for example wants to join The Big One for One Drop.

There are thousands of poker events all over the world. But only a few series interest the poker elite. At the top of it there is WSOP, where big money and prestige await. If you want to win a WSOP event, you have to plan well though. This year a good strategy is especially important as there are 78 tournaments to chose from.

As every year eyes of many poker lovers will be on Daniel Nagreanu. This pro from Canada has six WSOP titles (last two he got in 2013) and he was in the second place as many as 8 times (even in 2017). As for WSOP 2018 D-Neg posted this information on his blog:

“This time of the year I like to plan what I will be doing in summer as far as tournaments go. Of course it all depends on how I will feel at the time. There can be also something colliding with a given event. If I have another arrangement, like a tournament I will play the WSOP one only if I get eliminated from the first one before the late registration in the other finishes. I never play two at the same time. Haven't done anything like it in five years. I did so a few years back when we battled with Phil Ivey for titles and trophies. Since then however I play only one tournament at a time and give it 100%. If I get eliminated then I rearrange my schedule, look at what's available and play on.

Tournaments before and after WSOP are somewhat new for me. It's not only about $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl, but the events in Aria and May tournaments of WPT in Bellagio. They will provide many opportunities to play something with a pretty high buy-in.

There are also many events that give me joy and provide good memories, and they will take place once the WSOP Main Event starts. Previously the ME was the last one on the schedule, apart from The Little One for One Drop, but this year there will be $1,000,000 The Big One for One Drop, event with $50,000 BI and a few mixed games events. I am anxious to see how The Big One for One Drop will do this year. This will be the very last World Series 2018 event.

It's very likely that by the time most pros will not have much money left, so I plan to play Big Drop. I plan to pay $500,000 myself and sell the rest of my actions. I hate doing that, but it's just too much for a 3-day event. This will be the only tournament in which I will sell a piece and hopefully by the time I will have had a wonderful summer and some titles to my name.

At the end of the entry, Negreanu sums up he will have spent about $600,000 on events before WSOP. Mostly High Rollers and Super High Roller for $100,000 in Aria Casino (all with unlimited re-buys). He will also play the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl.

Daniel Negreanu intends to join the maximum of 39 events at WSOP 2018. Total buy-in for them will amount to $1,414,500. Poker player also promises everyday vlogs from the Las Vegas festival.

Below you can see the events that Daniel Negreanu will probably join at WSOP 2018 (in those not on the list we will surely not see him registering):

I wonder if you guys keep posting stuff about Daniel Negreanu only because you know others will open the article to say how big of a fucker he is and that he should eat shit?

Sure, as long as you don't count tournament buy ins in your net profit, or people who win zillions of $ in macau.

I've enjoyed his vlog last year, lookin forward to to this one!

I never really got the hate he gets, he's a paid employee of Stars, poker players are so butthurt about something completely standard in the business world.

Being a paid corporate shill is one thing, acting like you are on some moral highground is quite another. I never really got how some people fail to get this distinction.

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

we're not hating him cause he s paid by Stars, we're hating on him cause he s a motherfucker which blatantly lies to his audience for money and somehow acts like he s doing the right thing.. I'm actually fine with motherfuckers that do ugly shit but admit that they are pieces of shit, this guy however is something completely else. I used to enjoy watching him in shows and etc. but what he's done is despicable and as WCCRider said he s an embarrassment to this community

Also if you're trolling, the 1st of april passed cmon...

No I'm serious
When you work for a company you start believing the hype yourself, your brain starts to spin everything in a positive way
And come on, have you seen anyone in PR departments or spokespeople be actually honest with public?
Sure they exist but there's handful of people like that, especially with obviously monopoly abusing companies like Stars has become, you either leave because you have strong moral fiber, or you stay, and it should be obvious you're bending morals etc. to anyone with half a brain.

He is what he is, a paid shill without strong morals, why hate him for it, if you somehow don't see through his "moral highground" instantly then joke's on you :-)

It's like people being angry at Stars... they built a monopoly and got acquired by an aquisition company with a criminal leading it, of course they're gonna fuckign abuse it, most companies would, that's how monopolies work, vast majority of the time they can't help themselves and instead of sustaining the monopoly, goodwill and the industry as a whole they jack up the prices for short term because performance and bonuses are based largely on quarterly financial reporting and targets

Seriously I often feel like a lot of poker players live in fairy land and then get surprised and outraged at stuff that's completely standard in the real world

No the jokes not on us, we obviously believe it, but the average guy who has no clue of how the system works believes him thats the problem. You try to justify someone's behaviour just because he might believe that what he's saying is true. Well Hitler believed there should be a pure race, so the joke was on all of the people he killed I guess? Just because thats how the system works doesnt make it any good or justified. Yes its obvious why he s doing what he s doing, it doesnt make it any good, he s a cunt and so are Stars and if we can explain to the normal guy why thats the truth, then thats perfect.

Should we just bury our heads and go with the flow just because things are? Do you believe this is how the world actually operates? Well thats how the masses operate thats true.

We had "dealers choice" in our homegame for a while. I got a slightly bigger edge by picking Pot Limit Omaha because position is more important than in NL holdem. Me and the most aggressive fish picking PLO, the tight guys and weak fish picking NL holdem

i dislike standard business practice such as this as well though. I don't get your points, it seems like your basically advocating a slave-like behaviour, that we should just accept that this is the way it is and do nothing? good troll though

No, I'm glad people bring awareness to the uninformed
I don't get the heated emotion they are bringing into it tho, Doug's over the top rant about him being a little bitch was good comedy, but it seems some people genuinely hate him just because he takes millions and exposure that he craves from the only company that can give them to him in exchange for pretty much being their PR representative?

Wouldn't most of you do the same if you had his limited skill and age in a super high expense environment of live MTTs , if I gave you millions every year, guaranteed, made sure you will be famous, paid celebrities to spend time with you publicly and all you had to do is to find positive spin even on negative announcements and keep your mouth shut if there is none?

I mean get real guys

How can you hate Dnegs, he's pretty much a caricature you can't take seriously

The "keep your mouth shut if there's none" part is where Dnegs fails and that's why everybody ITT is annoyed with him ("more rake is better" just to name the most atrocious one I'm sure everyone knows about).

I still don't see how you possibly can't get it, your posts have to be a level, Lemon. He's a despicable character who deserves every bit of negativity (doesn't stop me from laughing at him as well).

Even this would be "acceptable" imo, if it wasn't for the "Hey I'm the VICTIM of vicious attacks here, I'm a good guy though!" show. Just utterly detestable.

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

i would not take that deal.

theres a reason why we see so many people quit being pokerstars sponsored pro's, and that's because they would rather not be corporate shills even if there is money in it.

DN has a lot of weight in Stars policy, he is no puppet, they cant just kick him out if he refuses to shill the rake increase, he could have easily kept his mouth shut and I'd get ok with just saying "a company can charge whatever it wants", but that whole rake is better and, "oh its only 1 or 2 pennies" is jus being disingenuous.

How does DN have weight in stars policy?

He's a PR tool, not a board member. This is a large corporation, how the fuck does their PR guy dictate their policy?
