Starting this Sunday, September 15th, two titans of the online poker world, Douglas “WCGRider” Polk and Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky, will play a month-long series of high stakes heads-up No Limit Hold’em challenge games, with the overall winner claiming a side bet of $100,000 .

The series will be hosted exclusively by Full Tilt Poker, with all of the action covered as it happens on the new Full Tilt Poker Blog (http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/blog/).
The structure of the challenge is simple; the two stars will play 15,000 hands across a number of sessions. Play will halt if either player builds an effective chip stack of more than 250 big blinds, and the player who is ahead at the time the 15,000th hand is complete will be awarded the $100,000 put up by the losing player.

The prospect of these two players clashing heads up has generated a huge buzz in the online poker community, with speculation and railbird bets being touted before the series was even confirmed.

"I’m really looking forward to this. It’s hard to get a game with these stakes against anyone nowadays,” said Douglas “WCGRider” Polk. “Also, I’ve never gotten to play in a challenge type format, which certainly changes the dynamic substantially. I think that Sauce is definitely a great player, a pioneer of modern-day poker strategy.”

The two notably clashed in April this year, over four tables of $100/$200 NLHE, in a two-hour session that netted Sauce a $197,000 profit. This came a week after Polk had previously inflicted $211,000 worth of damage on Sauce at the same stakes, so we can be sure of some great action during the challenge.

wait so are they not keeping profits from the tables............

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

Of course they are keeping profits from the tables, with an additional side bet of $100k

is this going to be at 50/100? or what?

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by running away from the scene of an accident.

good, I had a moment thinking this was just a modified version of isildur challenge which would have been less cool

i listened to a recent interview of him saying making vids for sites isn't really ever worth it (esp for high/nosebleed stakes players)
