just brushing up on math

i've heard set mining is only profitable in 3-bet pots when around 140bb deep? your odds of hitting a set is 1 i believe, so you want pot/stack ratio to be around that?

for simplicity if it was heads up, and hero 3bet to 100, and pot was 200 with hero having 900 left, this is only 1:4.5 pot/stack ratio. but even if he had 1300 left that is still only 1.5 pot/stack ratio. was wondering where the 140bb deep rule came from

mnj.. honestly dude. Once you play so many hands.. you kinda just know when your beat. Im pretty positive evilsky thought he was beat but called anyways. You cant expect every player to play optimally based on math. I couldnt even pass algebra 2, so I prob make mathematically incorrect plays from time to time.

yea you get that sick feeling but then if they both show QQ and JJ respectively you wanna kill yourself even tho if probably a good solid fold ;(

fwiw i think claw viper's play is 100% standard for the pf call.. position + sick pf odds/implied odds as well make this clearly a +ev pf call

???

i wasn't questioning evil sky's decisions really, i was just trying to brush up on math (trying to get through a poker plateau, couldn't figure anything else out so might as well solidify some math stuff)
