i don't know anything about villain, but if he's a reg i think c-calling river is better even though that sounds results-oriented. it's really hard for him to have KQ, and a reg is not calling river with QJ/JT pretty much ever (if they even call the turn with those hands, which they might if they have a spade). generally you'd expect a reg to 3bet AQ pre here, but even if he has that if you check to him on river he will valuebet for you, and you don't pot commit yourself the extra money for the times he's slowplaying something.
