I check and see what happens. There are really not many bad cards that can come on the turn, and this allows you to get away unscathed if a war breaks out behind you. If everyone checks through you can fire a bet on most turns.

depends on the players really, if one of the bigger stacks is a huge station just bet bet bet if not slow down like artanis said imo
