sick

deepstack headsup looks so scary against people with large balls..... there's room to 4bet preflop just to have a betting lead for the flop..?

something like QQ then?

Nazgul    Netherlands. Jun 18 2006 07:04. Posts 7080

I would really have no clue but fact is that Hal his range preflop should be; QQ, KK, AA, possibly KA and utter trash hands.

QQ doesn't push, KK doesn't push, AA is too unlikely. He can call this bet with any hand he likes, QA and 9To all the same. Either you win against trash or lose against KA, so there's no reason to assume he had QA as it equals 9To in dont_bothers mind. Of course he could have QA, but it isn't more likely that any hand that is alot weaker.

I'm saying he could have had Halling, AJ, QA, AK and AT are all within his range as well. There are many hands that he could have had and it is useless to put him on a single specifc one. Halling was lucky to hit such a monster on 700 preflop raise and most importantly that his monster was well disguised and thus giving dont_bother a reason to pay him off with any hand.

hehe i dunno how you'd read halling here. I watch him play 10/20 alot (of course, much different than playing him as nazgul and pooruser may have)

And i've seen him do some crazy reraises like that preflop w/ trash hands @ showdown (sometimes winning w/ crazy 2 pairs / trips) etc

wow, one hell of a hand

Exactly, trash is in his range, but Ax shouldn't be; because you will get into great trouble in case you are being reraised by AQ/KA. Trash hands don't make any dangerous combination here.

Even without a 'read' by way of playing the hand you can still fold of course. Concluding Halling is value-pushing is also possible without actually putting him on something (or nothing). Sometimes you are like "I feel he hit something but I can't quite figure out what" and fold.

personally, if i were zappy and called and were beat, i wold have expectd halling to have 56 or jt (99, 88 maybe? but probably not). being beat by a full house here just seems completely wrong as played

what should be taken from this hand?

That halling played a hand in a way he should not have and got very lucky? That he played a hand seemingly not in his range in a decietfully correct way? Do we presume that halling just had a wicked read on his opponent this hand or something?

PoorUser    United States. Jun 18 2006 07:32. Posts 7471

we presume that halling is a lucky fuck

and as far as my understanding of how the hu was played, i think hallings pf line is pretty poor as well

this was the craziest HU match i've ever seen on 10/20, you can't really analyze this so much

they were making it atleast 280 preflop every hand almost, and firing bets on every street with autocalls and stuff allt eh way on 3rd pair and shit

I presume Halling got lucky because he made it 700 preflop with a crap hand he shouldn't have hit anything with, on a moment dont_bother was willing to put his whole stack in (you could feel it from everything).
